Peking Express

Stopped by here after a long day at work to pick up dinner for the husband and myself. I see that everyone’s complaining about how they got the wrong thing in their order… but why isn’t anyone talking about how terrible the actual food is? We ordered sesame chicken, fried rice, egg roll and wonton soup.
Sesame chicken was soggy and tasted like orange chicken. Pretty disgusting. Oh, and the chicken was a weird color… shoulda been my first sign
The fried rice (which is $ 1 extra!) was hard and the frozen peas and carrots were barely cooked. And fried rice is supposed to have egg… no egg
Egg roll was not even crispy. Like dough almost and hardly any filling. I took about two bites and that was it for me.
The wonton soup broth looked brown. I’m not Chinese food connoisseur but I have never seen brown wonton soup. It was flavorless too. At that point I was too afraid to eat the actual wonton beef. I didn’t want to actually get sick.
Bottom line. Don’t waste your money or your appetite! Go to Top China in Dale City! They’re the best in town.

I am a avid Unilocaler and I had always seen this place since it’s right next to the ABC store and was a skeptic because of how it looked on the outside. But on this fateful day my boyfriend and I were wanting Chinese takeout and this is close to where he lives so what the heck, gave it a try. We went in to order though it seems other reviews had a issue with delivery orders being messed up our take out was fine and prepared quickly. Beef Broccoli, General Tso’s, Beef lo mein, and Kung Pao chicken. All nice and piping hot when we got home. The beef broccoli was delicious and had great flavorful as well as the broccoli being a good crunch but not raw. The lo mein was not just oiled noodles but well seasoned beef, veggies and noodles. Kung Pao was my boyfriend’s and I had never had it before but it was really good with a large amount of peanuts lol. The General Tso’s was okay or as we say «it’ll make a turd». We’ll order something else instead of that next time but we will definitely order from Peking express again.

Beef broccoli, Moo Shu Pork, Shrimp Fried Rice, Egg Flower Soup, White Rice and drinks was our choices for the day. So good when you’re with family.

My family always orders from here, however every time we do, we always get the wrong order or we are missing something. Well when we realized we could order online we did so that this time we wouldn’t be missing anything or receive the wrong item! Huge FAIL! When we got our order we were missing not one thing but 3!!! On top of waiting for about an hour and a half for our food we went ahead and called and explained to them that we were missing 3 items, that we paid for! The lady was extremely rude and told me that the «computer» did not show these 3 items and I stated that I didn’t understand how the computer didn’t show we ordered these 3 items when CLEARLY WE PAID FOR THEM! I told the lady to recheck our order and she stated they were too busy to deliver it and that next time we ordered they would include these items in our order! I told her that was INSANE since we PAID FOR THESE ITEMS! Needless to say we never received our 3 items and she hung up on me! I would understand if we didn’t pay for the items but the fact is that we did! They are liars and thieves! NEVER AGAIN WILL I ORDER FROM HERE! Also, they changed the ingredients in some of the food because it doesn’t taste the same and sometimes their sauces are a bit too watered down!

Whether I go in for take out or have it delivered, this food is Great! And I’m from NYC and there aren’t many places that can compare to the food that we’re used to up top. By all means check it out.

I LOVE Chinese, but I HATE when I get the wrong thing. I’ve tried Peking Express a handful of times when I wanted something spicy (see my review of Mr. Hunan’s) and half the time I’ll end up receiving the wrong thing. I swear they have no idea what they put in the food. Everything always looks good, and the prices are right. The staff is friendly, but the dining room is small and kinda jank. Not a great place to take friends, but it’s ok for takeout.
