Love this place. Don’t expect bistro style food, this is a upscale diner with good eats and a surprisingly good beer list. Date night? Nah, but bring the kids for some pancakes, steak subs and a Ballast Point. People are super friendly and in the 6 or so times I have been here I have never been disappointed. Just go, have fun and get a decent meal for a reasonable price.

I consider myself a foodie because going out to eat is one of my favorite past times. There is no question that when I’m in the mood for a home cooked quality meal, The Restaurant is at the top of my list. Let’s start with the warm friendly greeting you get from Peter the owner when you walk through the door. He is genuinely happy to see you, and appreciates your business. In this day and age that means a lot to me and I would patronize him just for that, but I don’t need to because the food is OUTSTANDING. All these critics who say they don’t like cafeteria style, you have here an open kitchen with the featured dinners on display to help make your decision. I absolutely love it !! Very often I go for the turkey dinner but yesterday I had the baked stuffed chicken with mashed and green beans. It was the highlight of my day. If you are looking for a light hearty meal try the beef stew which will make you weak in the knees. Also the home made chili is the best around. Finally, if you don’t grab a slice of pie you won’t know what you are missing. Bravo Peter !!

Meatloaf was very good… I had a very good meal here. Staff was very friendly as well. Place was quiet and was very relaxing. Prices are fair. Something for everyone on the menu and breakfast all day. I’ll be back.

This is a GREAT place for breakfast.(I have only been here for breakfast). The line moves fast and it’s cafeteria style but the food is FANTASTIC! I LOVE the French toast here — with home fries and sausage sometimes. They give you a lot so it can be hard to eat it all. It’s good to have someone grab a table first while you order and pay because it gets crowded very quickly. The staff is always friendly here — another plus :-) BTW it’s Handicapped accessible too. My Dad has no problem with his wheelchair and navigating about in The Restaurant.

Breakfast all day! I’m sold! I love this place because they serve breakfast all day(even on the weekdays) and I also like that I can order a single pancake for $ 2.00. It’s massive! It’s better to get here early to beat the lunch rush and be able to snag a table. The food is always good. If you get the Mediterranean wrap, tell them to go light on the Feta. It becomes a bit salty with the olives and generous amount of feta and marinated chicken. I always feel rushed to order but it’s only to keep the line moving. They recently renovated and offer drinks in the bar. I haven’t been here in the evenings but I will definitely give it a try.

Stopped with the wife on the way from Winchester back to NYC. The Restaurant was somewhat recommended by our hotel. While the individual had not been, she mentioned that many of the hotel patrons go there. Upon arrival I noticed the dining area looks a lot larger inside than outside. Also of note is that service is cafeteria style(which left us standing by the door for a few minutes until we figured it out). Once aware, we headed over to the beginning of the line, got our trays, and placed our orders. Since it was breakfast, fare for the day included corn beef hash, pancakes and scrambled eggs with cheese. The pancakes were somewhat dense and basic. They required sopping amounts of syrup and didn’t stand out in any particular area. The corn beef hash lacked flavor and was particularly greasy — I know that corn beef hash is fried and required grease, but this particular serving seemed to be oozing it and it showed in the greasy flavor. The eggs were prepared in a standard format with two slices of cheese melted on the top. I prefer my cheese mixed in with my eggs, but that wasn’t happening. So, fairly standard food for fairly standard prices with some glaring items of concern. Two stars. I won’t be back. When I do return to Winchester, I’ll make sure to carve out more time and head to Cracker Barrel which is several more minutes in the opposite direction.

A chaotic ordering process and slightly overpriced standard 3 eggs and bacon breakfast. First when I asked for 3 sunny side up eggs I waited 5 min then had to tell them again and have them put them on the grill. When I was confused about the price thinking it was 5.75 for 3eggs bacon coffee toast and hash browns. The woman at the counter then noticed I actually had 3 eggs and raised the price saying meat was extra. Ended up being 9.63 I would have gone to cousins if they were open.

I heard about Restaurant many times on Phantom Gourmet and since working in Woburn it was always on my mind. Yesterday we got a chance with 2 of my colleagues to visit that place for lunch. Man the place was packed to the brim. The Menu is not bad and i believe recently they have also added a bar which was also packed with all the guys in shirts and ties. So the menu to start out is pricey. There are lots of choices though and the quantity is def dinner size and not lunch so kinda balances out the pricey part but still if it would have been $ 1.50 cheaper than it would be a gem of a place. This place is a cafeteria style where you grab a big tray and forks and knives etc etc and move on and start ordering. Ordering is very fast paced and you should know what you want otherwise you would be holding up the line. There are plenty of choices. I went with chicken parm and friends went with meatloaf plate and gyro wrap. I got a soda and total came to $ 14.50 ish. But the chicken was freshly fried and cooked in a def homemade marinara sauce and not a some ready BS type of sauce. The taste of sauce was unique and different and it was quite nice. Friends loved their food as well. They serve some stuff on the table while some you pick on the line. NO problem and service is quick too. It is a great place for lunch and dinner for that matter and breakfast menu was very tempting. I think we found a good place but three stars only because it is a bit pricey. Overall def worth the visit and the breakfast is on the list for next time.

Awesome place to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner(but the breakfast is the best). Awesome portions and a ton of different selections. Very friendly owner that is always there behind the counter cooking.
