Tiny place but best cocktail I’ve had in Winston! Tiny place, very chill on weeknight. Patio but not the most exciting view. Clearly come for the drinks and not the ambiance! Love the drink dispenser at the end of the bar with cucumber water! Also points for having one of my favorite books«Liquid Intelligence» behind the bar even if the bartender never heard of it or Dave Arnold! :)

Great casual bar. There is a large outdoor area but the indoor space is fairly small, so it’s best in the summer. The only improvements would be if they had food(though they let you bring food in from other places), and if they didn’t allow smoking on the patio.

My friends and I are from out of town and was here for a meeting. Came here because a local recommended this place. We were all having a great time until the end of the night when we were closing our tab. The bartender tried to charge my friend extra. Argued that my friend was wrong until my friend asked him to showed the itemized receipt which the bartender then admitted he was wrong. If it weren’t for the whole receipt fiasco, this place would’ve been a 5 star. Not cool to try and jip someone thinking they’re too drunk to realize what’s supposed to be on their tab.

This is, hands down, my favorite place for a cocktail in Winston. I’m a frequent cocktail drinker and having traveled a lot and lived in a few cities, I can be picky. Single Bros has the best dark & stormy in Winston; I’ve also tried a couple of inventive drinks that I haven’t seen elsewhere and have yet to be disappointed. I don’t go on rainy nights since the bar itself is small, but the outdoor seating area is lovely as long as precipitation isn’t falling!

So Im not sure if a bar can be much smaller than this place but have such a great group of people inside. We popped in for a few drinks after dinner a few days ago after going to Tate’s and discovering that it was closed. I am sure glad that we did. Nothing too fancy just a good drink. My favorite was the bourbon smash made with fresh seasonal herbs. I could have had several more of those! While we were there it started to rain cats and dogs, I mean I thought I saw Noah float on by on Trade St. We looked to the back and water started to slowly trickle down the back steps. In a few minutes we have a nice stream flowing through the bar and out the front door. the manager/owner was furiously squeegeeing the floor but it just kept on flowing. Luckily no snotty people were there and we all pitched in and started to move stools and tables or help try to move water. I had a blast!

Eclectic-Artisy bar in downtown Winston-Salem. Very good option if you want to chill around the art district. The bar itself is small, but has a wide variety of drink options, even there own infused drinks. The outdoor patio is a nice option to drink and relax.

I’m a fan of this spot! I like the fact that you can pop in on a Sunday afternoon, sit on their back patio, eat the delicious biscuits they put out, and have a fancy cocktail. My usual go to on a Sunday is a Bloody Mary. Theirs is definitely not of the traditional variety, I guess they put an avocado in it. I liked it, others in my group weren’t as big of fans. I also tried out a ginger lavender drink that was really tasty. My friend likes gin so he made up some cocktail for her and asked if she wanted to go on a «flavor journey» with him. She did enjoy that flavor journey! The space inside is on the small side but has plenty of spots if you are going on an off time. The patio outback is covered so even if it is raining you can still sit outside. They even take fresh herbs out of their garden out back there to make their drinks with. They had out delicious biscuits with cookie butter and honey, so you can always count on some type of snack available.

They make good drinks here and have a nice outdoor area for hanging out. If you enjoy hand crafted cocktails this is likely one of the better spots in town. However, it takes quite a while to get a drink order — so stack ‘em up if you think you’ll need more than one(which you do).

A great bar in Winston! Super cool vibe and really great drinks. Definitely recommend the Moscow Mule and then the Dark and Stormy.

Delicious, very strong cocktails! Very creative menu & relaxing atmosphere. The staff members usually act quite pompous, but I suppose that is expected with swanky/hip bars.

Me and a 2 friends waited 15 minutes for a tap beer. The bartenders kept stopping between each drink(which took over 5 minutes to make) to have a conversation with a friend at the bar. It should not take more than 45 seconds to make a drink. You’re better off going somewhere else with real bartenders that know how to take more than one drink order at a time then waste your precious drinking time here. Oh, and the toilets don’t flush; but the candles are a nice romantic touch. Also as I’m typing this, some guy just brought his dog inside with him and it almost drank and knocked over my drink… Is this normal here?

I love single brothers! It used to be so hard to get a drink here. Something changed, owners maybe? Either way, I do not have that problem anymore and really enjoy this bar. Especially during patio season. This is the place I go to get a handcrafted original cocktail with high quality fresh ingredients. It sounds like Tate’s, but with a patio, less expensive and more inventive. I’ve never had beer or wine from here, but I don’t see any reason to stray from there liquor specialties. The patio is long and has picnic tables throughout. There are flowers along the fenced border. They allow leashed dogs and if not to busy will offer them water. :) This bar is labeled as hipster locally, but I see all walks of life when I’m there. It must be the drinks.

This is my favorite bar in winston! The various smashes they do are delicious as well as the brothers gin and tonic and old lady! It is hard to sit inside and we have had service issues on busy nights, but really wouldn’t go anywhere else in town. The crowd is hipster, but also nice and unpretentious.

This place is tiny tiny but that’s kind of what makes it cool. It’s very neighborhood bar. Has craft cocktails with interesting infusions. You might not get a seat inside but it does have seating outside. Seems like the barkeeps know their people. I’ll go back for sure.

Nice bar. Went this weekend and had a good time. Inside is small but they do have outdoor seating. Prices were reasonable and the bartenders were friendly. Great place to get a drink before or after dinner. If you have a large party(5 — 8) then be sure to grab one of the picnic tables outside.

Wonderful little spot with the finest bartenders in the state. Fantastic craft cocktails and an impeccable selection. Only one problem… If you don’t like crazy crowds then avoid on weekends otherwise its the best place in town to get a drink. P. S. The weekly karaōke never fails to entertain.

I have been to Finnegan’s and Silvermoon across the street several times and never noticed Single Brothers. I’m sad I didn’t. I am a fan of this little(32 indoor capacity) bar. I went in on a Thursday and went back the next night. Got one of the 6 seats at the bar both times, which gave me a front row seat to view some solid mixology by some very easy on the eyes bartenders. Small but thoughtful selection of whisk(e)ys, and some nice cocktails, including the Pimms Cup which I had and the«Parker Posey»(elderflower liqueur, cava, and lemon) my companion had. You’re looking at about $ 8 a cocktail, so be forewarned. I tried a bourbon I had never had before and upon realizing it was not a «sipping» bourbon, I asked the bartender to make it into a Manhattan and she did so happily. There are some things I didn’t like: -$ 1 cans of Miller High Life. Draws a different sort of crowd than the $ 8 cocktail crowd.(To be fair, most of the people drinking these had the decency to take them into the very nice and ample outdoor seating area). –The chipotle infused vodka mixed with grapefruit juice(I think they called this the«Hellfire» or some such). This did not do justice to either the vodka or the grapefruit juice. Both were ruined. I am looking forward to going back to Single Brothers many times in the coming months.

Single Brothers is a fun bar with a great selection of cocktails. It is one of the few places that I can trust the bartenders to throw something together for me. They are also one of the few places to offer really good tequilas when most places just give up and sell cuervo and patron. Yes, it is small inside, but that only adds to the comfort factor for me. There are no TVs(Can you believe it?). And they do have a fairly large outdoor patio area when the weather is good. It is a little pricey but, as others have stated, this is not the place where you pound the drinks and get hammered, this is where you want to savor and sip the delicious, carefully-constructed cocktails.

Some people can be such haters. This is a lovely little bar that serves a lot of inventive upscale cocktails. Many of the ingredients are homemade and even though they are slightly on the tail end of expensive this is not the type of place you have 6 drinks at to get wasted. You order a couple of drinks and just marinate on the deliciousness of the flavors. I went here with a few friends and ordered one round of drinks. For the most part we each got something different and took sips of each others. I ordered the Ginger Rogers(Whiskey, Ginger Liqueur, and homemade sour) and must say it was very tasty. The one drink that stood out the most was the Hellfire(Smoked Serrano Vodka and grapefruit juice). The drink was good and interesting to say the least but I honestly do not think I could drink a whole one. Next time I go back to Winston I will be making a trip back here. Also, I loved the music choice of the bartenders that day(Grizzly Bear!!!)

Awesome little bar. Good beers on tap, nice high-end booze selection. Has that«neighborhood-y» feel when you walk in. It’s small, so don’t expect everyone in your large party to find a seat. Perfect for two people in dire need of a cocktail and place to chill out.
