Brisket plate was fair. Cole slaw was good. Mac n cheese was not hot and the brisket was cut thick and rubbery.

So for atmosphere and BBQ this place is pretty good although their bbq is very sweet! Their hot isn’t exactly hot but high in vinegar. Ok so this was a first visit and for food and atmosphere i’d return… but fir service I’d expect better! Our waitress rolled her eyes when asked for a draft menu. Failed to prebuss anything off the table. When my girlfriend’s water was gone including the ice she asked do you need more water? Nah I’m good! Its wings and bbq… yeah keep the glass full. Oh and when asked for more celery she said no! Wtf? Not well yes but there is a charge of… But a NO! Ok fine keep your celery and no ill have another beer at Finnigans! Thanks!

I like the idea of this place more than I actually like it. A lot of the food is mediocre(like the pork), but the ribs and brisket are pretty solid. The sides are ok, but nothing great. It’s a decent place to go to if you want bbq while downtown, but if I’m really craving bbq, I’ll go elsewhere.

Came to Came City BBQ for our first night in Winston Salem and really enjoyed it. I ordered the barbecue wings and Mac n cheese and loved them both. Our server Daniel was really nice and really helpful. He found the all star game we wanted to watch and turned it on one of the two big screens in the room we were in. I really liked the atmosphere and it’s not like anything we have in Virginia. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area

What an awesome restaurant and concept! The first time I tried their product was at the local Unilocal Speakeasy event, and I’m so glad that they were featured there. I love all of the choices you’re given when you come to Camel City BBQ Factory. 1) You get to decide whether to dine downstairs, which is more casual, and order at the register. There is ample seating and it’s great for a quick bite. You could choose the upstairs which houses a full bar, and you are seated by a hostess and waited on at your table. 2) You can decide which game to play after you place your order for food. They have tons of arcade games, and various other fun activities that other restaurants just don’t have. I played basketball and skee ball while I waited. Those games are located in the«Barcade.» Ask your hostess to be seated there; it’s so much fun! 3) You can have a difficult time deciding on what to eat because everything is just so good! I don’t typically like pulled pork bbq, but there’s is succulent and full of flavor. I went with the slow cooked beef brisket, with collard greens and mac & cheese. It doesn’t get much more southern than that. The portion sizes are plentiful and the waitstaff excellent! I’ve eaten here twice and can’t wait until my next time back. You don’t have to be a kid to enjoy Camel City BBQ Factory, but it just makes it that much more fun!

Shucks, guys. I have gone back here two more times and I’ve been so disappointed with the food. I love the atmosphere of the games and bar, but the food is really lacking these days. On my most recent visit, we ordered potato skins and Mac and cheese. The skins were okay. But the Mac and cheese was just a shame. The sauce had separated because it was clearly old. I hate to change my review, but I don’t think it’s fair to have a glowing review for a place whose quality has changed. Go for the drinks and games!

This was my second trip to Camel’s and have to say the brisket was on point. The meat was not to fatty and had a great smoke flavor while dipped in the sauce. For the side had the Mac and cheese and that was good and not oily like some places. Also had to try the smoked wings and ordered those medium heat. Have to say they had great flavor and seasoning on them. So if you try them you won’t be disappointed. The reason for the 4 stars is due to the lack of personality the cashier had. I placed my order to go and could hardly hear what she was saying. I am getting older but haven’t lost my hearing yet and felt like I was asking her what did you say? Thankful I wasn’t dining in because even if the food was 5 star, the poor service could kill a place. Did not venture upstairs to check the full service area out. So if your looking for some good brisket or wings this is the place!

BBQ done well, old school games, sports bar, and a well thought out idea you’d find in any other growing hip city! Now I by no means am ready to declare W-S a hip downtown hangout. As of now it’s not exactly that. But with places like Camel City BBQ popping up, it’s getting there! Located in a old three level warehouse, you have three levels of industrial looking dining areas with very large bars! The booths lining the walls each have a game system for your enjoyment such as Atari’s, Nintendo, PlayStation, and even older hand held games. The top level is full of arcade games, pool tables, dart boards, and more! Everywhere you go you have large tv’s at your disposal for game watching. The BBQ is really good! I started with the fried pickles which may have been the best version I’ve ever tried! Then came the pulled pork platter that featured an unquestioned slow cooked pork that was chunky and not overpowered by the sauce that dresses the meat! The puppies were phenomenal, as was the triple cheese Mac n Cheese, and never mind the awesome collard greens that didn’t have that strong vinegar taste that so many places feel they must kill it with! The brisket salad was good, but was certainly a little on the fatty side. My one complaint on this first visit was the draft beer that came slightly cool in a warm glass. After drinking half of it I just stopped. When asked if I wanted another, I replied to our server that it was just too warm to drink. Instead of getting excuses, he thought on his feet, brought me a similar bottled beer along with a frosty glass! Not charging me for someone’s apparent goof, thinking on your feet, and just overall good service will certainly bring me back as they try to work out the kinks! They certainly could nestle themselves back into a four star rating, but with good Q, good sides, a staff that’s trying, and thankful that W-S is maybe finally getting it certainly earns a five star to start! My second visit, and my opinion on the apps and sides are unchanged! The apps, such as the Fried Pickles, are so incredibly good! The sides to your dishes are equally as good. The Mac n Cheese, Collards, and Onion Rings are some of the best! I’d even recommend not getting the slaw to get your extra side!

Finally got to try CCBQ. Parking kind of stunk since it was a Friday night. We we’re gonna try to sit upstairs to have full service, but my son took one look & said no way! It was way too loud. So we sat downstairs where is was quiet. The ladies at the counter were super nice. Especially the one who took our order, she patiently waited for my son to order his food. I knew that the brisket was going to be awesome since I tried it at the Spookeasy Unilocal Event. So that’s what I went with along with the mac & cheese & fried okra. The mac&cheese was the first thing to fly off of our plates. The brisket was delicious as I remember. The okra & hushpuppies were both awesome! My son loved the ribs, wish I could have tired them, but NOPORKONMYFORK. I love that they have Genesis & Atari at each table so you can play & they have board games as well. They also had Rock em’ Sock em’ which of course we had to play! CCBQ is definitely solid for me! I will definitely be coming back on a quieter night to get the experience upstairs.

Great service, great atmosphere and good food! We visited Camel City BBQ for the first time tonight and were pleasantly please. My friend devoured his burger in 2 minutes. The BBQ Cheese Fries were delish! The Mac N Cheese I ate off of my boyfriends plate was delish(I never order mac n cheese at a restaurant because they are usually a disappointment… not this time)! Brisket was yummy but agree with a previous post that there was a little too much sauce and I wouldve rather used the homemade sauce on the table instead. The game room was great… would just love more prizes… esepcially fun ones for the older crowd!

This place is really cool! It has a Dave and Buster’s concept built around great BBQ. The restaurant itself is huge! 3 floors– floor 1, counter and take out service, floor 2 «family» dining area and floor 3(our fav) bar area and arcade. There even appears to be some type of dance/party room as well for special events. We arrived in a Friday night about 8 and were told there would be a 30 min wait. We said NP and ordered some beers– to our delight our buzzer went off and we were seated. We had the smoked wings and potato skins as our appetizers. Everyone raved about those. The sweet chili wings were on point! 2 of us got the three meat sampler tray and it was just a massive amount of food. The ribs were fall off the bone. I was like thanksgiving dinner full and still I ended up packing at least ½ to take home with me!!! Hubby got the gyro and he is a fussy eater but said he really liked it. Our waitress was a sweetie and we never waited long for beers, napkins or anything. She did a great job. The arcade is so much fun! Skee ball, darts, cornhole. The highlight is the giant Jenga game! We had a blast playing that for almost an hr! Man when that thing falls take cover!!! Camel City has good food, a great beer selection and fun atmosphere. Would be a great place to take out of town guests!!!

OK, I will admit it. I was a bit hesitant to try this place after I read a few Unilocal reviews. However, we just visited Camel City BBQ Factory and had some very good BBQ Q! I ordered the Pulled Barbecue Plate with collard greens, red slaw(only way to go) and hush puppies. Everything was excellent. The pulled pork was seasoned perfectly and had the smoke taste one looks for in their barbecue. The collard greens were seasoned well but if they used a ham bone or ham hock it would have perfect. The red slaw was perfect and seasoned the way I like it… nice and peppery. My fiancée ordered the Liberty St. Meatloaf plate with mac-n-cheese and red slaw. She said it was awesome with a hint of smoke and the bbq sauce complimented the meatloaf. She is not a meatloaf fan but loved this one. After our lunch, we decided to go upstairs and check out the«barcade.» Let me tell you something… we had so much fun. Nobody was in the«barcade» so we had it all to ourselves. We played a few rounds of pool and enjoy some time on the retro games(Ms. Packman, Galaga, Skee Ball and Adult Sized Jenga plus a lot more). Be sure to go between 2pm and 4pm(my advice). Overall I really enjoy the concept from Camel City BBQ Factory. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We will be regulars here. Come on out and give them your support.

This is my new favorite BBQ place locally! I was already in the area at Pride WS today and my husband, stepdaughter and I decided to grab some late lunch after walking around and man, I’m so glad we did! I had the brisket plate with triple Mac-n-cheese with slaw and hush puppies and it took me back to when I’d go have BBQ as a kid down east! The cheese was so perfectly melted, yet not too heavy, the slaw was amazing too as well as the hush puppies, but that brisket… OMG! I didn’t want to use a napkin because I truly wanted to lick anything that got on my fingers by accident! I can’t wait to go back soon! The service was great and I loved being able to sit down and relax with a casual vibe, yet also we could’ve taken it to go if we wanted to! Absolutely delicious!

You guys. This place is kinda cool. ANDHUGE. I went during a doldrums part of the day(between 3 and 5) and the place was practically empty. Okay by me, because I was ready to explore and decide the type of experience I was willing to have. Downstairs is counter service. Order, get a number, pick up your food and everything comes out at once. Upstairs is full-service, a bar and the barcade with a bunch of old school games and the largest TV screens I’ve ever seen in my life. I decided to eat upstairs at the bar. I got a barbecue sandwich with red slaw and a mix of fries and hushpuppies as my side. The BBQ is run-of-the-mill Lexington style and was pretty decent. I was actually pretty impressed with the bun because it was a hearty Kaiser egg roll that held up to the additional sauce and the moisture of the slaw(that was put on the sandwich, which was cool but I wasn’t asked if that was okay) I saw a guy mixing and frying the hushpuppies downstairs, so I know they were freshly prepared. The only caveat, they were DRY. SODRY. No amount of ketchup could save them. The fries? Crinkle cut from a bag. They were fresh, so no real complaints there. I’m looking forward to going back with lots of friends and playing the games. The food? Hmmm… It’s just something to eat while you socialize or watch a game.

Structurally this restaurant is very nice, and with a name like BBQ Factory in North Carolina, the expectations are high. Food on our first visit did not meet those expectations. The pork BBQ sandwich was good enough, but the brisket was not good at all. Tough, almost rubbery. The sides were better than the main course, which is never good at a BBQ restaurant. Unfortunately, given the large number of BBQ choices in the area, including Bib’s downtown, I don’t know that Camel City will get a second chance.

This is an awesome joint! Had a dozen smoked wings; half bbq and half buffalo. They were amazing. Downstairs is classic BBQ joint, order at the counter and take away or eat in. Upstairs are the bars, arcade(I could go broke playing Galaga) with pool tables, dart boards, Foosball, and much more. There is also an upstairs patio. Great place for a gathering of friends. I can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu.

I thought this place was so neat! They really thought about the dinner experience when they built it. You can eat downstairs if you just want to order at the counter and pick-up your food to sit and eat or you can go upstairs for the bar and full service. We opted to go upstairs! The set up is nice and open, the bar is huge. We were there on a Sunday and the football fans started trickling in. If you tell them what game you cant to watch they tell you what area of the bar they plan to play it/what seating area will be facing the appropriate TV. I thought that was neat, if you want to go watch the game this is the place to do it. At each of the booths they also have a vintage video game that you can play, think Atari and Nintendo! Their barcade is so neat! All sorts of vintage arcade game surround a huge bar area. Perfect place to go on a Saturday night for something different. On to the food and service. Our waitress was really nice and we never had to wait long for anything. I went with the brisket plate and while tasty I wish it wasn’t drowning in sauce. The mac and cheese was good with as well. My husband got the ribs and I wasn’t a huge fan of those, not as fall off the bone tender as I thought they should be. This is definitely a great place to come with friends grab a drink, watch the game, or play some arcade games.

After a second visit, my rating remains at 3 stars. The food has yet to wow me. The newest BBQ offering to the Dash. Camel City BBQ opened in September 2015. A massive industrial complex on the corner of Trade and Liberty, you can’t miss the signage or the red and gray building. I ordered a smoked brisket sandwich. It was different than expected. First, it came on a buttered hoagie roll. It was served chopped, and it was covered in cheese. BBQ sauce wasn’t added — perhaps I needed to request?! Nor was the slaw — how un-NC like! Ten bucks and that included a side. Also tried the smoked wings. Not bad — good flavor but tough chewing. 9 bucks for 6, fries and a side. The upstairs is huge — a sprawling bar with deck seating, full service restaurant and a game room of sorts. They definitely invested a lot in this place and plan for large crowds. After two visits and a few different entrees I think I’ve got the gist. 3 stars
