My husband and I eat here once a week! I fell in love with their home made salsa and thick chips in college and still crave the taco salad fajita! My husband loves their bean dip, but most nights we end up splitting the chicken fajitas with extra tortillas! Their mixed drinks are also on point if you are in the market for a good one! They also have outdoor seating, so when it’s warm, you can bring your well-behaved, leashed pup!

My wife and I ate here for the first time last night. We were not disappointed! Both the salsa that comes with the chips and the guacamole that we ordered to go with it were outstanding and obviously fresh. My wife’s carnitas dish and my Dr Chapman’s special were so good. Just the right amount of food. Even the beans and rice that came as sides were a cut above the usual type you get at the average local Mexican restaurant. The service was good also. We will be back in the near future!

We’ve been coming to Señor Bravo since they opened after loving Las Estrellas. As the years have gone by we’ve overlooked the steadily declining service, issues with bugs, and other problems because the food is generally good and the salsa is addictive as crack. Our patronage ended tonight. My girlfriend and I were seated in the bar next to a group of drunk men despite the fact that there were open tables outside and throughout the restaurant. After a few minutes of hearing the guys be racist, misogynistic, and sexually harass one of the servers I got up to tell the woman(who I’m assuming was the manager) that we would be moving tables. One of the men yelled«PEACE» to us as if we were the assholes. I turned around to see if he would offer the smallest of apologies and he repeated himself. The manager apparently thought this was funny and not a big deal as she shushed the guy and laughed. After being treated like that, we could’ve had the greatest meal of our lives and it wouldn’t have overcome that experience. It wasn’t. My girlfriend’s meal was incorrect and when she told our server(who to be fair, seemed new) she said«oh ok» and laughed as she walked away. When we left, I told the manager about our experience and she said«she knew.» I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for 13 years and I can tell you that it’s completely unacceptable for her and her employees to allow this to continue. I hope Sal sees this and figures out how to right the ship for future patrons. We will not be back but other customers shouldn’t be treated this way.

Service is sweet and friendly. They not only put up with but welcome and entertain our toddler. Always enjoy the food — good vegetarian options with roasted veggies. Good margaritas too!

The absolute best authentic Mexican restaurant in Winston-Salem. I have never been disappointed with the food or the service. Family owned and it shows in every plate that comes out of the kitchen.

Since Las Estrellas closed this is one of our go to Mexican places in Winston. I love the chips and salsa. I think their food has great flavor. Better than some other surrounding places.

Absolutely love the food and the wait staff is always great and we go a lot but when we have a coupon it is always an argument with one lady at checkout and today tried to charge us dinner prices At lunch. This is your lasting impression on the restaurant and we were extremely embarrassed in front of people waiting to be seated

Updating my review, to say that this time I tried the flautas with chicken. They were really, really good, especially for the price. I’m trying to branch out and try new things. My friend got a cheese quesadilla, and she said it was the best one she’s ever had.

Just ate lunch there and had the steak fajitas. The worst I have ever had. The steak was luke warm and very tough and did not come with any flour tortias. The beans were salty. Poor service. Would not go there again.

We all know Winston Salem is known for the amazing Mexican food. This place is great! Right across the street from my apartment which is good and bad(I go here too much). The staff is great and very fast! The manager is pretty cool! I recommend the ACP, quesso dip, and anything with shrimp on it. Great place overall. The interior is pretty cool too!

Ameri-mexican food is the jam. When you’re craving dirty delicious tacos and enchiladas, nothing else will hit the spot. Señor Bravo offers a wide variety of mexican inspired dishes, including combination platters, carnitas, and seafood dishes. It is not authentic, but does not pretend to be, either. I was particularly impressed with the guacamole(creamy), hard shell taco(homemade shell), and enchiladas(delicious, complex flavors in the sauce). The margaritas are made with sour mix and hit a little too sweet for my taste. My dining companions enjoyed the Bravo fajitas, which came with a variety of meat. Unfortunately with only two tortillas, they found it a bit challenging to enjoy the entire meal. Service misses the mark a bit and I noticed the menus were quite dirty. With a little love from the management I can easily see a bump up to 4 stars for Señor Bravo.

Myself and a friend went and were seated right away. The service was attentive and kept my water glass full(I go through so many during meals) and our chip basket was always full with fresh, hot chips. I ordered the steak fajitas and was surprised at how fast the food was ready. It came out steaming and with a great array of extras to pile into a tortilla. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. I took about half my meal home and had the perfect lunch the next day. I also sampled my friends dish, a quesadilla, and was overwhelmed in the best way with so many cheeses and meats. It melted in my mouth. Definitely going to be a return customer.

Since my last visit when Señor Bravo was my favorite, I’ve had two bad experiences. Nothing worse than getting your take out all the way home and open it and it’s wrong. Nothing worse! No more chances, Pancho Villa never fails.

Kitch. That’s the best word to describe the décor. When we walked in, we were greeted promptly and taken to a table. We ordered the Texas fajitas for two that came fairly quickly. However, I agree with the other reviews regarding mediocre service. I have no complaints about the food, but the service was subpar. We waited at least 15 minutes after we finished eating for our waitress to acknowledge that & bring us the check. When she didn’t, we had to flag down another waiter. I wouldn’t go out of my way to return here.

I recommend getting the carnitas soft tacos(comes with 4 in one order) and make sure to say you want it done the mexican way. The soft tacos are a little greasy and there were Mosquitos flying around. But overall service is good here and they always seem pretty busy. *The margaritas are $ 9.50.

Do not go to this restaurant. You’ve been warned. Señor Bravo is by far the worst Mexican experience I’ve ever had. The first thing one sees when they walk in does not instill confidence in the dining prospects: a cluttered hostess station with a 90 sanitation grade. 90. We were seated at a table with old, dirty chairs. The vinyl seating was brown and peeling. We waited for 10 minutes until the waiter took our drink order. It was another 20 minutes before the chips and salsa came, and when we’d inquired about where the chips and salsa were, the waiter defensively barked at us, «They’re coming! We’re cooking more!» Our food took forever to come out of the kitchen. When it came, the fajita shells were overcooked and the food lack any of the bold flavors for which Mexican food is known. The free tortilla chips were greasy and overcooked, and the lemons in our water were small and anemic looking. We had to ask for utensils, as our plates were before us but we had no means to eat our food. My plate was handed to me in mid-air above the table. The owner(who was serving our food) couldn’t even put the food on the table in front of me. When we paid for our meal at the hostess station, the owner/hostess was very defensive about the wait and quality of service saying, «We’re very busy.» The restaurant wasn’t even full. This establishment is a complete waste of money. One would be much, much, MUCH better off going to La Casa Lopez or another Mexican restaurant where sanitation, customer service, and culinary arts are taken more seriously. Finally, this establishment is an insult to Mexican cuisine and the hospitality of the Mexican culture. You’ve been warned.

Came after after our first choice was on an hour wait. I have driven by about a million times and always think, hmm the next time I want Mexican I should give this place a try. We came in on a Saturday and we were seated with out a problem, as we sat and chatted the place began to fill up. We started off with the Queso Loco appetizer and that dip did not disappoint. It was queso, chroizo, onions and jalapenos. Surprisingly it wasn’t that spicy, just had a bit of a kick to it, which I was very happy with! For my meal I got the Chile Colorado, the carnitas were dryer than I am use to but the sauce was good. One of my lovely dining companions(shout out Natalie N and Matt M) ordered Anna’s Enchiladas and it was so spicy he couldn’t eat it, like he was literally sweating. Sal Jr informed us that the Chipotle Sauce was Diablo Sauce with some sour cream in it, well that explains that. They were able to quickly bring him a new plate of enchiladas this time in a green sauce. I will be back to try some more menu items out! I thought the interior was bright and cherry, perfect for a night out.

Horrible. Awful. Terrible. Disgraceful. The service(Waiter Pictured), was horrible. He put a dirty dish from another table on our clean table, he checked his phone while taking our order, and he completely screwed up my order. Even though, it has the convenience of downtown I will always choose to drive to a better Mexican restaurant. Maybe if I had texted him my order he would have gotten it right. I am never coming back.

My friend who lives in W-S recommended Señor Bravos. He said he had never been there, but it always looked crowded, so he thought it would be worth a shot. There is nothing really special about the décor or layout. It’s kind of your traditional Mexi-American look and feel. We were seated right away on a Saturday evening, and the waitress quickly supplied us with chips and salsa and water. A lot of reviews rave about the chips, but I thought they were inferior to the chips I have had at other Mex places. Heavier and more cracker like than what I am used to, and not very tasty. Maybe these were a «healthier» version, but if that is the case, bring on the unhealthy version! The salsa tasted traditional and was enjoyable. I ordered a dos equis draft and it was huge! I think it was the size of out 3 normal beers. I didn’t complain, but wasn’t given an option of any other sizes. For my meal I ordered the fish tacos which were fried catfish pieces on flour tortillas, with cabbage and a white yogurt sauce. I thought they were good, but would have preferred corn tortillas. These fish tacos were probably more the So. Cal. version of fish tacos(Except for the catfish. Guess that was the NC influence). Our waitress was friendly and attentive. She even didn’t laugh too hard when me and my friend tried to order in Spanish. Overall a decent choice for Mexican food in the Triad area, but probably not the best.

I hadn’t been in the restaurant 10 minutes before I found a roach in their bathroom. If there’s one in the bathroom are there 50 in the kitchen? Thanks but I don’t want to find out. 2013 #188 /365
