I went in there today for lunch, and I can honestly say that the food was okay but I don’t like how they tried to charged me twice for it. I had to call my bank to make sure they don’t let both go through.

The staff is unfriendly, congregates around the entrance to the restrooms, talks among themselves and don’t care if they look at your table and see two empty glasses at the edge of the table. This was our first time dining here and will be the last.

When we walked in there was no one at the door, and in the background you can see employees talking. They looked over at us and quickly looked away. Finally someone came and sat us. They brought us Chips and salsa which typically you can’t go wrong, but the chips were cold and not very fresh. The salsa is pure tomato with some heat. What got me was the Salsa was served from a pancake batter jug. The menu was pretty large with all of your favorites. They had large pictures of dishes that looked good but I had a hard time finding a description of it as the menu had so many things on it. The table had a bunch of drinks listed on the Pepsi sign holder. However when we ordered we found out they don’t have all of them. The service was very unfriendly and cold. However the food was quick to the table. I got steak fajitas. The veggies were cooked nicely but the pieces were all over the place. Some were huge chunks, and some were little slithers. The steak was also all over the place some was cooked perfectly but other pieces were beyond over cooked. The sides, as the food were bland. Tomatoes were almost yellow, the guacamole was bright green, and no flavor. My wife got a quesadilla and it hardly had any meat, but lots of peppers and onions. The plates were very sloppy, like the beans were on the edge of the plate and the bottom of it. Doubt u will return, which is a shame as there is no Mexican places this part of town.

Staff is always exhausting. They have been rude and increasingly slow. We have been going here for awhile and it has fallen off. There are water stains on the ceiling and an increasing resentment from the wait staff. Good is average and typical dishes are somewhat bland.

I will never return to this place again. We have tried it twice in the past year and had horrible experiences both times. A few years ago under different management it was a great place to go… not anymore. Horrible service, horrible food, horrible experience. Save your money and DONOTEATHEREORGETCARRYOUT.

We popped into El Paisano for lunch after doing a little grocery shopping at Lowes Foods. This is a pretty typical«Mexican» restaurant in the area. You are seated and someone comes out pretty quickly to take your drink order, then another person comes and brings chips and salsa to the table. Then the drink order taker returns to take your food order. I ordered the Burrito Grande a flour tortilla encasing some steak, that seemed like it was saved from yesterday, but hey I guess for the price 6.99 I guess you can’t expect too much and its a good way to get rid of leftovers also! I hear you can get this in leftover chicken as well. it comes topped with a red sauce and some cheesy«rancho» sauce a little lettuce and some sour cream round out the dish. Not really that bad honestly but something that my wife can do better, but… my wife is from Mexico City so there you go. She ordered a Coctel de Cameron y Pulpo(shrimp and octopus cocktail). This comes out in a big olé margarita glass with a few packs of saltine crackers. Again decent but a little on the sweet side, I had to go seek out some Tapatio hot sauce for her to spice it up a little bit. Drink selection here is limited but the beer is muy frio(that’s very cold for the non Spanish speaking crowd) and comes out in 32oz mugs, so that is always a big plus in my book. If you are looking for super authentic then this isn’t your place, but if you want a decent burrito, or enchilada then you should pop in and get you one.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I ate there for dinner on Saturday and there was no wait. We were close to the door so it was a bit cold. The chips were warm and the salsa was ok. Our server was quick and kept our drinks and chips filled. I ordered the tongue tacos. For 8.50 I got 3 overstuffed tacos and rice and beans. The tacos were excellent. They served them with a dish of sweet onions and cilantro plus a lime. The beans had a good flavor but the rice was a little bland. My husband enjoyed his quesadillas. Our waiter brought out mini sosapillas as a complimentary dessert. I liked that it was crisp and not overly sweet. This is my new go to place for cheap Mexican.

Going here is a last resort for me. Last resort as in I’m too exhausted to cook, no one wants Chick Fil A, and East Coast is packed. We went last Friday, and it was disappointing as usual. Our server was friendly and prompt. They are just not very organized as we had two other servers come over to take our order as well. My girls ate their ACP and said it was good. As my son pointed out — how can you screw up chicken and rice with cheese? My son ordered the chicken quesadillas, and got plain cheese quesadillas. An honest mistake, and we just didn’t feel like waiting the extra time to correct it. I had the spinach quesadillas and they were just tasteless piles of frozen spinach with cheese in a tortilla. Call me crazy, but I’ve sautéed spinach in my lifetime and you can make fresh spinach pretty tasty. I also think it wouldn’t be against the law to put some chopped tomato or onion in for some flavor. I know this is not gourmet Mexican. It is what it is. But a restaurant like La Botana in Winston sets the bar a little higher. Taco Bell would have been a better and cheaper choice for us. One star because I didn’t have to do dishes.

We have ate here many times and stopped because of the food quality and especially because of one hostess. She is a taller mexican girl with redish dyed hair(the only way I know how to describe her) she was rude the last time so bad and corrected my husband that we didn’t go back. It’s been several months and I thought why not give another chamce. I had a to go order when I went in this same RUDE hostess spilt the cheese dip in my order blamed it on me then blamed me be cause it got on her coat behind the counter. When I asked for a napkin to get it up she went and got one but only to wipe her coat off with it. When I tried to express my feelings she ignored them and when I said I’ll never be back she said«Good» this place has really gone down hill and I hope it burns and crashes

I went here for a birthday party with a big group. I had never been here and didn’t know there was an entire little strip mall down 150. When we got there our table was set and all ready for us. The staff was friendly and the food came out fast as usual for a Mexican restaurant. We had s great time and they happily sang happy birthday to the birthday boy. The reason for three stars is that I did not care for my food. I ordered what I always order at the Mexican restaurants. A bean burrito plain with sliced avocado on the side. The avocado was brown which is gross to me whether it’s okay to eat or not, I only eat green avocados. I didn’t think the beans had much taste and was kind of liking eating paste :(. The tortilla was fine. Unless it’s for another time I’m invited I won’t be going back. It was very busy though.

Very bad service., one food order served on a dirty plate. Waited 10 + minutes for someone to take order. After order taken 40+ minutes to get food then only when we were getting ready to walk out. Employees to busy watching soccer game on TV. We watched as they all stopped working to watch TV. Don’t waste your time or money.

Live down the street. From Arizona and I demand good Mexican food. I can tell you this food is fresh. Try the Beef Tamales… un beef-livable! Those 2 photos of the«mystery» item is a stem from REALFOOD. When you cut your own veggies and make your own salsa, sometimes little stick and stems will make it in. Try fresh food… Ive literally been here 10+ times over the past 6 months. I have never done a Unilocal review but after seeing the BS on here I couldn’t sit by. The food is great, service is what you expect from a good Mexican restraint. I literally feel SOBAD for the guy that thinks Taco Bell is better. Life has so much more to offer

I made a mistake and returned for another try. Once again the food was terrible service was VERY slow and mistakes were made with what was ordered compared to what was delivered. Taco Bell is better.

The food is usually pretty decent, although not amazing. Normally the service is pretty good but tonight our waitress was really slow. In fairness they were pretty busy tonight. Prices are tough to beat. We can feed a family of 5 for $ 30 here!

This is my neighborhood Mexican Restaurant. The food is good and fairly consistent. It does a very good business, and is frequently packed with patrons. I have had better Mexican, I have hear the chicken soup here is great but I have yet to try it. I do like the Tacos Diablo, very yummy!

I can’t help but love good food at good prices, which I’ve consistently gotten here. They have a surprisingly extensive menu and the service has always been fast and attentive. The chicken fajitas are good, cost only $ 10 and come with a ton of food. The beer prices are about the best in town and the margaritas are good. I’ve seen live bands in here a few times as well. Notice I’ve used the word«good» a lot and not«great.» I’m not sure this restaurant necessarily aspires to be the best, fanciest or most authentic Mexican restaurant in town, but they consistently do a good job of serving tasty food and drinks at extremely reasonable prices. This combination likely explains the crowds I see here every time I pass by it.
