Studio Blue

I am new to the area and went to Studio Blue on a friend’s recommendation. I got an appointment with Audra for a cut and she did an excellent job — not taking too much hair, but also suggesting she take more than I originally wanted so it was as healthy as could be.
During that appointment, I spoke to her about someday doing the bayalage technique to my hair (I have previously untouched virgin hair) and she was honest and helpful.
Even though she encouraged me to make another appointment with her to do it, she was never pushy.
Well, I went back and I got the hand painted highlights and WOW. I’ve had them for about a week now and I absolutely LOVE them. On her suggestion, I had picked out three pictures of realistic results for my hair and we spoke together before she did anything to make sure we were on the same page. An hour and a half later I had lighter, slightly ombred golden highlights which I am completely happy with.
Audra, I can’t thank you enough for being a great listener on what I wanted for my hair and giving me what I wanted — from the first cut to my new color. It’s also just been a pleasure to talk to you when I’m in.
I have recommended her for all my friends looking for someone in the area, and will be a loyal customer forever.
Also, the actual salon is so peaceful and well decorated, clean and quiet. Each time I’ve been it’s been just me and Audra, which is really nice. Five stars, hands down.

After suffering through several months of bad haircuts by Della Testa, I was referred to Caitlyn by a friend. She knows what she’s doing. She is a professional and she is very easy to work with. My hair is finally looking good thanks to her!

I went to get a balayage highlight by Audra and I could not be more impressed! She was very professional and knowledgeable. She gave me many hair care tips and listened to my concerns. My hair turned out great and just like I hoped it would. Would recommend her above all other stylists. Also the studio is beautiful and has only high quality Aveda products!

I usually don’t write reviews but I had to tell everyone how great my experience at Studio Blue with Caitlin was! The salon has a cozy feel to it and Caitlin makes you feel so welcomed. She listens to what you want and the result is even better than you could imagine. The products are all cruelty free and amazing quality. Also, the services are fairly priced. I am so happy that I finally found the perfect hair studio in Wilmington, NC. You won’t be disappointed and I can promise you that!

Most people understand how stressful it is to find a new hair stylist when you relocate to a new area. I was brand new to the area and also under a massive time crunch, as I was trying to get my hair done before a work trip. Audra was kind enough to squeeze me in at the end of her day.
My appointment was for cut/​partial highlight, but by the time I finally decided what I really wanted to do with my hair, what I really needed for the look I wanted was bayalage (takes quite a bit longer). So I went to my appointment knowing that Audra may not have time to do what I wanted, as she was already squeezing me in. Well, after I showed Audra the picture and described to her what i wanted, she immediately said we would go with a bayalage technique without me even telling her that was what I thought I needed to have done. Audra stayed about an hour over to finish my look.
I am VERY picky when it comes to my hair. And the picture I brought in of what I wanted was not a simple look. Audra achieved the look I wanted PERFECTLY, took her time even though my appointment ran long, and never made me feel rushed. She did an olaplex treatment on my hair that has left it healthier than when I came in, even though I went blonder.
I love Aveda, and while in my experience you sometimes pay a little bit more at an Aveda salon, I think it is 100% worth it.
I also love that it is a smaller salon, more intimate setting, and Audra is super nice and also very professional. I am very thankful for Salon Blue!

Audra did an updo for my wedding as well as 2 of my bridesmaids. My hair looked beautiful and it lasted all night. I went in wanting one style and halfway through I realized I hated the updo I had picked. She stopped, talked a new style over with me, and delivered. I’m so grateful. Thanks Audra! We looked gorgeous!

I just moved to North Carolina and needed to find a stylist so I booked an appt with Caitlin. I’m really neurotic about my hair so I did a lot of research before I finally chose this salon and I am so happy I found this place. I have really long thick hair so I felt really bad that my appt took an entire two hours. Even with another person waiting Caitlin didn’t make me feel bad or seem rushed to finish early. She took her time to make sure I got everything I wanted. She listened really well to what I was looking for and did an amazing job. She even took the time to style my hair and give me tips on how to curl my hair. She was so friendly and knowledgable. I will definitely be back.

After several bad haircuts at many different places I finally listened to Unilocal and put myself in Caitlins hands. She took the time to find out about my hair growth and lifestyle. It has been a week since my cut and I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend and will be a repeat patron!

Recently moved to Jacksonville but was not confident about finding a salon there. Searched in Wilmington and found Studio Blue. Many great reviews so gave it a shot! Audra was wonderful. My natural color is dark brown but I have been quite blond for almost 2 years now. I am very particular about who does my hair to keep it looking good and not fake. Audra did a great job and was super nice! Will definitely return!

It can be really tough as a guy to find someone reliable, creative, and consistent to cut your hair. Catie Jett is awesome. Do yourself a favor and switch it up with Studio Blue. You won’t regret it!

I have had Caitlin do my hair for almost 6 years, and she has done an amazing job every single time! I have since moved to Raleigh and drive to Wilmington just to get my hair done. She is amazing! I tell anyone who will listen that she is the best in Wilmington!

The ladies at Studio Blue are the best in the business. Very talented across the board. I’ve been getting my hair done by Audra for 5 years and I always leave feeling great about myself and my new look. Both long and short cuts and many different colors and highlights. The salon is in a great location and is beautiful. The studio atmosphere makes you feel like your service is top priority and personalized. Plus Aveda products. Can’t ask for better! I recently used Audra to do hair and make up for a tv commercial I produced. She was nothing but positive, engaging and efficient during our busy schedule… And our model looked GREAT! I hope to continue this relationship far into the future.

Always got my hair cut at one of the cheapo places in town. Since Audra has been cutting my hair I cannot keep the women off me. It’s actually worth giving two stars just for the hassle she has given me in my everyday life. The upside is I look like a sexy beast. Audra is a friend of mine that I asked to travel to Charleston SC for my weddings last year. She brought another stylist and did my whole wedding party hair, my hair and make up and my mother and step mothers hair. I have to say that I had the most beautiful wedding party and I know Audra had a huge role in that! She was professional, energetic and certainly helped calm my fears about rain, frizz and the possibly flyaways! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Completely recommend her for your special occasion!

Love Caitlin! So glad she is back. I never feel rushed or pressured. She is a true hair artist. She knows my cow licks and where my hair grows thicker to even it all out and make a beautiful cut. I have very high standards and have tried many of the salons in town including all the aveda concept salons and I will never go anywhere else.

So, my favorite hair stylist had to go and open her own place, and it is GORGEOUS!
A much more intimate setting than the stylist group she used to belong to, Studio Blue is chic, but cozy. Located just above the Blue Moon Gift Shops on Racine Dr, her brand new space has high ceilings and huge windows for plenty of natural light. The salon has just two chairs, so you can either enjoy a quiet, relaxing cut & color with a good magazine and a glass of wine, or spend some time getting to know your stylist. Audra is a fantastic conversationalist — ask her about Franc, her Great Dane, or about the time I was shooting her wedding photos and accidentally directed her right into a fire ant nest (insert forehead smack here). She’s got great stories :)
Studio Blue is an Aveda Exclusive salon, so the quality of products used here is outstanding. I took the plunge and went from blonde to brunette the last time I was in (and was admittedly nervous about it). The color turned out lovely and rich — it’s been a week and it’s still nearly as vibrant as the day I had it done. I have a ridiculous amount of hair, but I can always count on Audra to expertly take the weight out and give it good shape without losing a lot of overall length.
Can’t wait to return — Studio Blue is my little den of zen when it’s time to tame the mane.
