Great food, friendly waitress. Great tasting wings, excellent mac and cheese, and the best cheese steak I’ve had in a long time. Will definitely be back.

Ok I get it! Everything was awesome! wings. Mac & cheese. Burgers, cheese steak and tator tots. My husband NEVER mentions if something is good but tonight he said the tator tots were«perfection» !! The Wisconsin Mac n cheese was delicious as was everything else! Definitely worth the trip!

Had food delivered from this restaurant by The Food Cab and wow! I can only imagine it would be better in the restaurant, the mac and cheese was delicious and creative and the burger was off cooked to perfection and topped with fresh ingredients. If you are on the fence about getting food from the Mess Hall, just do it you wont regret it!

I have eaten here quite a few times and have been impressed every single time. Between my boyfriend and I, we have tried several dishes and I can say without a doubt that EVERYTHING Mark serves is delicious. He really cares about his food and making it his own or «taking it to the next level.» Even if you are not a patron of the American Legion post where this gem of a restaurant is located, you can eat here and you SHOULD eat here. Truly some of the best food in the area.

Hands down the best burger I have ever eaten … Five stars the food is amazing… it’s in the back of the American legion and it’s a table in the back of a restaurant kitchen but who cares it adds to the experience… It’s true food craft

I was invited to try this new place based out of the American legion post 308 in willow grove, yes I know how that sounds, and boy what a pleasant surprise to be had. You approach the building to see a handwritten sign that says to enter through the bar to get to the mess hall. You enter the bar to a typical veterans bar scene complete with pool table and cigarette machine. If you look to your left you’ll see a door with a handwritten sign that says«the mess hall canteen, open». Walk through this door and you enter a new world, a quaint very well kept dining room, that reminds me of the dining area you would see in a small yet classy ski lodge. We were warmly greeted by the owner/chef mark and invited to dine at a table he had set up in the kitchen which he referred to as the«chefs table». The menu was a familiar yet unique mix of gastropub and philly stylized fare. I had the Balboa burger, which was a delicious marriage of Italian meats provolone cheese and a sweet and spicy hoagie spread on a hand made and seasoned beef burger, my girlfriend had a Caesar salad but with marks own cilantro and avocado aioli. We gabbed and watched as mark hand made and personally served us all parts of our dishes. It was all delicious, and the hidden gem aspect of its unusual location made me feel like I was on an episode of No Reservations, finding the true secret culinary delights of the locals. Suffice it to say I will be back.
