Went there last night to find the place all closed up and shut down. It was a great place and I miss it already.

I love how neat this place is. Once again Jason’s Deli is located near and will deliver to my work place. The favorite go to for my boss and I is the taco salad. Blue tortilla chips laid under shredded lettuce, and shredded cheese. They put the pico de gayo, guacamole, sour cream and choice of either chili or south west chicken chili on the side. The pico de gayo is seasoned perfectly and has just the right amount of jalapenos in it. The chili is a spectacular side that i scoop separately with each bite of salad as to not wilt the lettuce. Another good choice I’ve also heard is the the Beefeater which consist of Hot roast beef, provolone, mayo with a cup of au jus. Served on new orleans french bread. Everything is delivered neatly in it’s own bag with cutlery and mint ! Would definitely order from here a lot more often !

I recently tried Jason’s Deli for a catered lunch and was underwhelmed. The sandwiches are very plain and their chicken salad with pineapple wrap isn’t something that I would want to finish or see again on my plate. In addition to this, their trays are pretty darn expensive for what you get. On the plus side, the chocolate chip cookies are good.

One of my favorite places for lunch. I love their salad bar, soups and sandwiches are great. Food is served quickly and the place is always clean. One thing, if you are ordering take-out or delivery double check your order before leaving. They always forget my diet coke!

Jason’s is a deli chain; there are only a couple locations in the area, but according to their website there are at least a hundred locations across the country. So this isn’t ‘grandma’s old-world deli’, but it does have a lot going for it. The food is primarily sandwiches and salads(both prepared and salad bar). The restaurant is super clean and has a ton of seating. I was in the mood for something simultaneously tasty and healthy and thankfully Jason’s menu had many choices that fit the bill. The food we had was fresh and nicely prepared. My only complaint is that both the prices and the portions are a bit oversized; my wife and I eat got lunch and a soda plus some potato salad for the kid and the bill came to $ 23. Looking back at the menu, they emphasize that they offer reduced size portions, so maybe that’s the way to do Jason’s.

The Mufffaletta baby, that’s what I’m talking about! Free drink refills and get this free ice cream, always! Located at the end of a large and fairly new strip mall you will find Jason’s Deli. The restaurant has a large seating area and service is cafeteria style. The long counter at one end displays the menu, with soups, daily specials and sandwiches galore. This is where you place your order to go or to eat in. Against the back of the dining area is a long salad bar with an assortment of fresh greens, always organic, your usual salad bar toppings, plus pasta salads, potato salad, fruit salad in a yogurt sauce, gingerbread muffins and garlic toast. This is all you can eat for $ 7.59. Behind this is your refill station for beverages and an ice cream cone dispenser with a self serve ice cream machine right there for the taking and tasting. They always have French onion soup, tomato basil, vegetable and broccoli with cheddar cheese. The soup of the day was a baked potato soup. They have an assortment of entrée sized salads, the ones you are all familiar with and some inventive ones like the nutty mixed up salad, all organic greens with grapes, chicken breast, feta cheese, walnuts, dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds, raisins and organic apples, you can opt out of the chicken and pay less money. They also have a taco salad, he is from Texas ya know and fresh fruit plates. Jason’s offers wraps, build your own sandwich, Po boys, paninis, wrapininis and muffalettas baby! A huge variety of breads, spreads, meats and cheese. The classic reuben the great is on my list to try the next time, they have melts, BBQ, club sandwiches and BLT’s. Pastas and baked stuffed potatoes filled in a variety of ways and from what I witnessed it is a meal. The kids menu was interesting, you choose a meal, then a side like organic carrots, fresh fruit or apples, then a drink, twelve and under for just $ 2.59 to $ 3.59. The peanut butter is organic and the menu screams nitrite free. Okay, so your asking yourself, come on what did you have to eat… Muffaletta baby! It has been too long since I have had one and not sure of the size and knowing I could order a quarter, a half or a whole, I went with the half, which was a good choice. The sesame seed topped bread was outrageous. You can have either a turkey or ham, hard salami and cheese which I did, thank you very much. The ham was so different from what you would normally expect in a deli, it was a good baked ham, sliced fairly thick and then grilled with the cheese melting all over the meat and the olive salad was the bomb! Hubby built his own ham, hard salami and provolone hoagie, come on what else did you expect. I had a bowl of the baked potato soup with bacon and cheddar cheese and my heavens was it ever good, loaded with chunks of potatoes and onions and so thick and creamy. Hubby had the broccoli cheese soup and was loving it. I added a side of tuna pasta salad for $ 1.29, very good and hubby accepted the free chips. They have a cooler full of desserts. I chose the beautiful carrot cake, loaded with raisins, nuts, shredded carrots, spice, cream cheese and it was so moist and delicious. Hubby grabbed the chocolate and toffee topped cheesecake, which was a litlle slice of heaven. Kudos to Jason! Jason is my hero! No styrofoam here, all recycled paper products for packaging, he has saved thousands of trees, water and electricity. No MSG, no nitrites, no artificial trans fats and the only high fructose you will find is in your soft drink and he’s working on that one. He has his own growers all over the states, growing his own organic fruits and veggies. He started in Texas and became famous for his muffaletta and is growing nationwide since 1976, this is the only Jason’s Deli in Pennsylvania. He has his own potato chips made for heavens sake. Jason’s won Parent magazine’s top ten restaurants in the nation. Badda Bing Baby, Jason is one cool dude!
