I am new to the area and have been trying to find decent Chinese food for takeout. I’m a bit spoiled working near Chinatown in Philly but was happy to try China Garden after reading the positive reviews. I will definitely go back again and think it’s better than most other takeout places nearby. The service was great and super fast. We ordered wonton soup, the shrimp & broccoli and General Tso’s chicken. The shrimp and chicken were fresh and very tasty. General Tso can tend to be greasy but China Garden’s version was not overly saucy and not greasy at all. My only complaint would be the wonton soup. It was bland and very under seasoned. I wouldn’t order that again but like I said, I’m spoiled by the dumpling soups in Chinatown. All in all, I’d give it 4 stars but will steer clear of the soups.

This is my second time ordering take-out from them and I have no complaints! The food is fresh and not doused with sauce. Last week I ordered rice noodles and tofu with broccoli. Today I ordered sushi rolls, seaweed salad and Japanese fried tofu. The fish is good, the wasabi is strong and the salad is crunchy. My tofu came out golden fried — perfect! The lady on the phone is easy to understand, the delivery was timely, and the delivery guy was very pleasant. I will have to try having dinner at the restaurant sometime soon! Thank you for your courteous service!

I ordered take-out. Lo Mein, General Tso’s Chicken and Chicken with Garlic Sauce. Very average. The General Tso’s Chicken had way too much breading and not enough chicken. The sauce was good though. The Chicken with Garlic Sauce was pretty good. The Lo Mein was awful. It tasted burnt, so the entire dish was thrown away. I will not be returning to China Garden in the future.

Excellent for the price. Management is very easy going. Even though the lunch time was over, i was still able to order one at 4.30. And it was delicious. One of the best interiors in the area with authentic lights and beautiful decorations. Will come here again

I read lots of people’s reviews. Anyone who gives this place a bad review is having a bad day or probably can’t be satisfied at all. This is a terrific place. Food is great, prices are very reasonable and the people are very nice.

I love this place so very much… I’ve been coming here since 3rd grade and I’m in my 30s now. Food is always fresh… quick service, friendly staff, both their Japanese foods AND Chinese foods are excellent. Very generous portions… especially on sushi and sushi rolls! A+. This is really a gem of the Willow Grove area.

This place is surprisingly great. Surprising only because I never think of Chinese/Japanese take-out to be in the category of great. I’ve had some sushi and it is fresh. I also have gotten a lot of the meals. Very fresh tasting, never tastes greasy or heavy. I’ve recommended this place to many friends/family and everyone always goes back for more! I have never dined in, only take-out. Fast take-out times.

This is my go to spot for lunch during the work week. They’re insanely quick and the lunch portions are priced excellently while being of ample size. The General Tso’s chicken is phenomenal as well as any of the other chicken dishes which is all I eat from there only due to personal choice.

Lunchtime meal was very good and filling. My wife discovered the meaning of an empty fortune cookie — they bring you another cookie!

One waiter there very rude and has limited English speaking skills and DOESNOT know the menu well at all. Short guy with glasses. Lady with the short hair at the counter never smiles, and is rude herself. However they have great sushi!

This is my first Unilocal review. I have tried various places in the Willow Grove area and this is by far the best. Most places are Chinese or Japanese first and anything else sucks. This place is amazing all around. If you want sushi, it’s fantastic. If you want chinese food, great! I felt inclined to write a Unilocal review because China Garden Inn is really, really awesome. I love sashimi, but I’m not a fan of salmon. When I order their sashimi app, I ask for the salmon to be replaced. Has never once been an issue. I have never, never gotten a bad meal here. I have ordered various Chinese and Japanese items off of the menu and have never been disappointed. I cannot recommend this place enough!!!

I have been going to China Garden since I worked in the area in the late 1990s and the food is as good as it was then. Whenever I go to the mall I have to get my fix of Shrimp Mei Fun with extra curry.

Just ate here for Christmas Eve dinner. It’s a large place, and got very loud. However, I was a pleasantly surprised by the food, and tho it was slow at times, our server was attentive and remembered everything! Yum yum! Recommended and they had lots of regulars they knew by name, which is always a good sign. Drinks are super cheap and delicious!

Felt so gross after eating here. I got two types of sushi, the volcano and dynamite roll I think. Neither was spicy as the menu had claimed and one dish had some type of unidentifiable fish mush on top that was ice cold. After eating the roll itself, I started to think that I would likely be sick in a few hours. My friend kept telling me her steamed sea bass was ok, but she ate a quarter and then pushed it to the side. I felt embarrassed I brought her here. I was turned off completely to this place when I looked over and a guy in jeans and sweater who had been sitting at the sushi bar was suddenly behind the bar making sushi with the chef. Nope.

They really should just say«No Children» before you even walk in. When we were seated the host said something to another worker(which we thought grab a high chair) but no we waited a full 3 – 5 minutes before I finally got up and got one myself. The waiter(who totally sucked) came over asked if we were ready to order then promptly turned around and said I’ll be back to take your order… why come over at all? that was after we already waited a good 10 minutes. It took him another 6 to come and take our order. By this time we were unimpressed with the soap sud tea. We got our appetizer and soup but they looked funny and no plate for the baby so we had to try and find one… awesome … They never cleared the table, not once. When I asked him to clear the apps and soups he said to just push it to the side(seriously!) The waiter not one time came over to see how we were doing. we got up and told the manager we were unhappy and then the waiter finally showed interest in us but too late the food sucked and the service sucked. the only nice thing was the décor, too bad that doesn’t make up for the other 2 things. I think this place should get a visit from kitchen nightmares. lets talk food: Egg roll — greasy Wonton soup — bland broth, wonton was way too thick and the meat component was way to salty Egg Drop Soup — the consistency was very slimy and again BLAND Chicken Chow Mein — Throughout the whole plate the taste of lettuce was prominent any other flavors… not so much Shrimp with Mixed Vegetables — Finally something with flavor only the veggies were not in any way shape or form cooked. it was as if they took a bag of frozen veggies and just threw them into the sauce for a second or two Fried Rice — bland bland bland both my husband and I got really bad headaches and felt weird shortly after trying the food which is a sign of a crappy Chinese place using MSG in their food bc they cannot count on the chefs to put out tasty dishes on their own. So I recommend this place if you want bad diarrhea, a headache, to feel funny, and to be treated like dirt

The China Garden has a huge menu and very fair prices. The sushi is average but priced accordingly so its worth trying. I really like their version of General Tso’s because its very spicy. They have something for everyone and the portions are big.

Great Chinese restaurant, close to home! The menu has both Chinese and Japanese items. Their sushi is fantastic, as are the meals. Large menu to choose from. Hostess, Owner and staff are very friendly, not pushy. One of our favorites is the Walnut Shrimp. Extra large shrimp with toasted walnuts, in a cream sauce — Wow! Gotta to try this place if you’re in the area!

This is my goto place when I want sushi. Highly recommend the Osaka roll. When I do choose to order off the Chinese menu, try the honey walnut shrimp. It’s the best. Sophia at the bar always takes care of me and is willing to go the extra mile for our takeout or delivery orders and welcomes anytime I stay and eat in. I can honestly say there are plenty of Chinese restaurants that also make sushi in the area but this place is by far the best. I never had to wait longer than a few moments before being seated and service is fast. I know we have seen people waiting at the Bonefish next door on the way in and see the same people waiting to eat while we walked out full. Don’t let the other negative reviews discourage you from trying this place. Yes, the dining room could use a makeover but the food is good. The fish in the fishtank will give you something to look at or sit at the sushi bar.
