I use to go the Shamrock when I was in my twenties which is late 1990’s early 2000’s and it was a dangerous bar in a dangerous neighborhood. The last time I was there it looked like they cleaned things up although they didn’t serve me stating I was too drunk. Too drunk for an Irish pub?! I politely left although I would never set foot in there again after that! I generally don’t like to patronage a lot of night spots around town. Their either too snooty or too trashy. Millionaires Row turns into Skid Row by the time ya get to Susquehanna Avenue. A lot of the bars in my old neighborhood are being bought by Penn College or shut down.

You have to know what you’re getting into before you go. I’ve only been into the store front part, not the bar, but it’s a perfectly fine place to pick up some beer and malt drinks. It’s a little ghetto but the people who work there are really nice and the food is really good. Subs are fantastic, cheese fries are to die for. Meatball sub is our family favorite.

Always our first stop on St Patrick’s Day! The family has been getting together for year here. Cheese steaks are great! All the employees are very nice which is why we always come back.

The owners don’t allow me in the bar or deli because of a bad review I gave their business that’s ok it’s no big lost. There is a thing called freedom of speech in America and if the owners would listen to their patrons Billy the bartender would’ve and should’ve been fired a long time ago. The worst of the worst you can’t trust the people who fix the food or drinks because their too moody. There’s too many drug dealers and drug users hanging out there.
