Excellent place for a good kabob. I prefer the chicken wrap with cilantro lime sauce and a side of hummus. This place is great and so are the people who work there.

I must say my opinion has improved since my first trip! The kabobs are good and I highly recommend the eggplant salad as a side with the platter.

Sticks was okay~not bad and not really great either. Nothing really fabulous to make me want to quickly return. The cashier was patient and helpful while taking our order and the restaurant was clean. It just wasn’t anything extraordinary. We might return at some point, but it’s not really a favorite.

I wish there was an option to not give even 1 star. The food has the potential to be fantastic. It’s so hard to mess up Mediterranean food, unless you’re «Sticks». This food is not authentic, not fresh, not even named right! My «flat bread wrap»(AKA: Gyro in reality) was warmed out of a package, not fresh in the slightest. The lettuce was iceberg, and shredded! The tomatoes were gritty and old, the meat tastes gamey. The yogurt-cucumber sauce(AKA: Tzitziki sauce) was so watery it made everything soggy. When I bit into it, it fell apart. C’mon folks, you can do better! Needless to say, I will not be returning. I can do THAT at home and much, much better.

I really wish I could like this place more because it is very close to my house. However it is very very hit or miss. Sometimes the meats are perfectly cooked and sometimes they are way overcooked and dried out. It is definitely not an authentic kebab place but then what do you expect in Williamsburg? Still I wish that they could be a little bit more consistent…

I’m surprised at the low average rating here. Based on my lunch experience today and the feedback I’ve heard from other locals, this is a consistently solid spot for a healthy and fresh meal. I came in for lunch after doing some work next door at Starbucks. The manager working at the front warmly greeted me and offered some suggestions based of of their popularity. While not necessary authentic Mediterranean food, the selection and combinations of different dishes one can order I found to be delightfully different from other«healthyish» quick service restaurants. I ended up going with the falafel platter, which came with basmati rice, a fresh salad, two pita bread pieces and choice of side(I went with the eggplant salad). Everything was very tasty. The four decently-sized pieces of falafel had a nice crunchy exterior and a rich, creamy interior of chick peas, pine nuts and seasoning. I really really enjoyed the eggplant salad– the eggplant wasn’t overly mushy and the lemon and mint flavors were subtle yet tasty. I also had two different sauces– I ordered the red pepper sauce and the manager added the cilantro lime because it’s the most popular. Both were good. The establishment is very clean and somewhat modern. Yes, the prices are a touch higher than fast food, but the ingredients are higher quality and healthier.

The food was not very flavorful and you don’t get a good amount of food the price you pay. I would not go back, I did not find the food that appetizing or worth the $$ honestly!

This is not an authentic«kebab» or «Mediterranean» restaurant, but that doesn’t mean the food is bad. It’s not bad. But its not great either. Hence, 3 stars. They’ll make you a pretty solid pita wrap, with marinated(and well cooked) chicken, lettuce, tomato, and yogurt sauce. Once again, this is not an authentic kebab, by any stretch of the imagination… But it’s still a healthy lunch/dinner choice, with good, fresh ingredients. No complaints in terms of quality. We also got a side of hummus and baba ganoush(which they just call«eggplant dip») and these were not good. Just objectively not very tasty. So yeah, if you want a solid chicken wrap, for a good price, then go here. But don’t expect a Mediterranean style«shawarma» or «doner kebab» because that’s simply not what this place does.

I’m a Sticks fan from Charlottesville now living here. Was delighted to find it. Very popular there. I’m surprised by the low reviews. I like the chicken kebabs and rice. Lamb kebab also great. Sesame green beans served cold are excellent. It is a good quick meal that isn’t fast food. Not really a fries kind of place.

I see the reviews are not so favorable however I will add something more positive. If you’re looking for fast food that’s also healthy I would pick this place hands down to any other fast food in town. The chicken is bland but I eat healthy bland food all the time and if you had the hot sauce and zatar(green spice) you’ve got yourself a fast healthy grilled chicken skewer that’s really great! I love the eggplant salad and the tabbouleh is really pretty good too. I like the sirloin and grilled lamb chop. Never tried tzakiki sauce there but the cilantro lime is really pretty good and roasted red pepper not bad either. Fast quick healthy and tasty just add the hot red chile sauce next to zatar and it’s flavorful too!

They serve decent healthy food and you get it fast. I think it’s good for what it’s meant to be… a great alternative to Wendys or Burger King.

It’s tough to define Mediterranean cuisine. Certain foods are firmly in the category such as falafel and kebabs and stuffed lamb or in directly related categories such as samoon and tzatziki sauce. No matter how you define it, I love it– from the authentic and incredibly fresh fish in the open air market in Kuwait City to the street vendors of Seoul and New York City selling meat of questionable origin, it’s tough to mess up Mediterranean cuisine and make it boring and bland. Sticks though manages to do just that. The concept of Sticks is good– bring the fast causal concept so familiar to us in the form of Chipotle and Pei Wei etc. and apply it to Mediterranean food. You pick from the menu your meat of choice, the sides you want and a few minutes later your order is ready. But while I can’t fault the concept the execution is bad. The portions are small yet pricey and most importantly, the food is bland. Yes, that’s right– Sticks makes Mediterranean food bland. Out of the eight sandwich offerings, I’ve had three– the chicken, the kibbeh and the falafel. Let’s take them in order: The chicken kebab looked nice but lacked flavor. Mediterranean food and kebabs are all about spices and the chicken breast tasted like I put on my grill and at the last moment added some herb rub to it– the spices had in no way soaked into the chicken. It did not help that the chicken was also dry though not as dry as the falafel, which was almost inedible. The chickpeas were well blended but tasted bland because there was not enough spice in the mix. The falafel was either fried or baked bone-dry and the fact that even after eating three discs of them I still couldn’t tell if it was fried or baked sums up the quality of that dish. Finally, the Kibbeh tasted like it came out of a package. I’ve had kibbehs of different shapes and sizes but this was the only one that looked exactly like a Jimmy Dean breaskfast sausage. It was also dry and underspiced. I would normally have some sympathy for Sticks and blame it on a couple bad experiences but they have committed a cardinal sin– they’ve managed to mess up tzatziki sauce. Tzatiki sauce as you may know should be creamy with a lot of yogurt flavor and cucumber and dill and lemon blended with whatever ingredients the locals use to spice it up. Like barbecue sauce, there is no one tzatiki sauce. Yet, Sticks tzatiki sauce is none of the above– it’s not creamy, it’s watery. Let me repeat— a Mediterranean place is serving watery, soupy tzatiki. It was about the same consistency as chicken noodle soup just replace the noodles with flakes of cucumber and the chicken broth with a thin milk/yogurt mixture. That’s why I’m writing this review– you can underspice chicken, you can overcook falafel, you can take Kibbeh out of a package and put it in the oven for six hours but when you mess up tzatiki sauce you deserve to be called on it. To use a phrase that was popular in the Latin-speaking parts of the Mediterranean generations ago– caveat emptor.

I would tell people to save their money. The help really didn’t help explain what the concept was. I really can’t blame them it just seems like little direction and the placed seemed doomed from concept. And the food was really bland.

This is a really mediocre place. Overpriced for what you get. Fast foodish. Got something to go. The portions are so small the to go box weighed more than the«platter.» Save your money. One star is generous.

Lackluster attendants; loads of ‘choices’ as the previous reviewers mentioned… A tad much. Five of us, we had the platters of shrimp, pork and chilli beef… Very dry and overcooked, with no apparent flavour… disappointing really. The shrimp had the most flavour and least dry of all. Only one stick per plate at Sticks; at Pho79, that also serves comparable platters of kebabs, they give two(very flavorful and juicy sticks at the same price). And as mentioned prior, COLD sides, mixed veggies, cold, surprised me as well. Maybe too much trouble to heat it up? Will not return… go somewhere else, anywhere will be better.

My g/f and I tried this place when it very first opened. Not good and I cant believe they are still in business! All the sides are served cold. Cold veggies… no thanks and I’m a vegetarian! I can’t even remember what I had since it has been awhile. Don’t waist your time, go elsewhere.

What’s with all the«pick an item from each column» restaurants these days? Basically you decide: 1. Sandwich, Salad, or Platter 2. Your Meat 3. Your Sauce 4. If you would like a side I had a falafel sandwich with yogurt sauce. The falafel was abundant, but I had never seen flat falafel pieces before. The eggplant salad was refreshing and minty(I added some to my sandwich). The whole experience was decent but lackluster.
