Adorable little Traders Joe’s in Williamsburg nestled in a newer plaza close to Ford’s Colony where we were staying on vacation. We had a full kitchen in our room so picking up items from Trader Joe’s was a no brainer. They have the best selection for ready made foods and easy to make snacks. Definitely a convenient location from our hotel with all of the great products you expect to find at any TJ’s. Parking was pretty easy and this location seems like a pretty nice area overall. And a friendly staff as usual. Love it!

I love this grocery store! They have the best produce and the friendliest staff! Everyone is really helpful with finding the products that you want! Things are reasonably priced, especially for the quality. They do lack certain staple items that may be easier to find at a traditional grocery store, but I would say their variety and uniqueness in products is the real selling point. As a vegetarian, they have the most options for me out of any grocery store I have been to previously.

This is one of the two Trader Joe’s I frequent on a regular basis because I commute between Richmond and Hampton weekly. While I’m sure to most people in the ‘Burg, this place is a little crowded, I can assure you it’s a snail’s pace in comparison to the Short Pump location. The layout of the store is opposite to my usual routine, but all of my favorites are here even if they require a little circling to find them. I’m usually popping in around 2 or 3 on a weekday, and there’s a fair amount of people shopping for their staples. I’ve had a lot of people question me on why I shop here when they feel it’s more expensive, but honestly I can get twice as much food for the same prices I used to pay at Kroger, Martin’s, or Food Lion. And it actually lasts! I’ve never had produce go bad on me the next day like I have with other chains. The staff is friendly and inviting, and I love making this a stop on my way home from work. The only thing keeping this from a 5 star review is the severe lack of parking in the shopping center, which is more a poor planning decision on the builder’s part than TJ’s.

This was my first visit to a Trader Joe’s so I have no other location to compare it to, but compared to other grocery stores, it’s far above anything else. Do they have everything I am looking for in a grocery store? No, but what they do have I know I can trust and the prices are actually pretty good for the quality you get. We were in town for 3 nights and just needed a few things. Bought two 6 packs of Trader Joe’s brand beer, Josephbrau? I think I picked out a Bohemian style and a Bock. A couple bucks cheaper than name brands and just as good if not better tasting. Also got some snacks. Cheese, nuts, wheat pretzels, and spicy brown mustard. No preservatives or anything that will kill you. Checkout was fast and friendly. I like how they scan the stuff as they are taking it out of the cart, instead of us having to load everything onto a belt and back into a bag. The Jimi Hendrix music in the store was a nice touch. Not what I expected in a grocery, but still pretty cool. Hoping one opens up closer to where I live.

Our resort pointed us to Food Lion, Walmart, etc for groceries, but when we heard there was also a Trader Joes, we went straight there instead. This TJ has more selection than the one we have back home. It seems newer, and is big and spacious. We stocked up on some small items for the kitchen that’s in our vacation place. The cashier was really friendly. Only downside, is that I bought rice milk, but when I brought it home, I’d learned that it had already been opened. The seal had already been broken, and the thin aluminum tab was already broken. It sucked, but I didn’t go back to get it replaced. I was leaving in a day anyway, and it didn’t seem worth it to go back for a $ 1.99 box of rice milk. Nonetheless, that sucked.

Oh wow! Love Trader Joes. Started going to them in California many years ago. It’s great to see them around the country now. They have very fresh produce and their meat selection and quality is great. The people are very personable and the stores are very clean.

So happy we found a TJ’s. Being on vacation felt even better because we can eat well and with our favorite foods. Staff was incredibly helpful and warm. They have a scavenger hunt for kids in the store, so sweet! Samples the day we went were delicious and my kids wanted more.

I love Trader joes! We were so happy that they put a store in the Williamsburg area. What can I say… The wine, the cheese, the bread… Impossible to find better or cheaper anywhere in town. I also love the pet food for our dogs and cats. Really great ingredients! I’m a big fan of organic produce and they have a great selection here. I also can’t live without the olive oil and all the nuts!

This Trader Joe’s is a favorite of mine. The friendly staff and awesome selection make it a must use on our time in Virginia. We also love taking the products back home where our closest TJ’s is an hour away. With a vast array of selections, Trader Joe’s has what you need.

Standard TJ’s. Of the two that are closest to me I prefer this one because it’s always less crowded. The staff, as with most locations, are great. I love the food and wine samples. The staples I get from TJ’s are wine, bread, produce, and stew meat. It’s in a convenient location right by the Wal-Mart neighborhood market and New Town.

Stopped by here to check the place out since I have never been to one before and have heard so much about TJs. I was pretty impressed! The store was clean and nicely laid out. The employees were friendly and very helpful and assured me there are no GMOs in their stores. I thought the prices were reasonable, especially compared to Whole Foods. It seems they do have a variety of items, maybe not everything I would need in one stop, but I also like that they have a variety of foods I’ve never seen before. It’s nice they have a money back guarantee with no questions asked, even if it’s just because you don’t like the taste of something.

Who doesn’t like Trader Joe’s? I love everything about TJ’s! Nice selection of meat, fruit, wine, coffee and if you buy frozen, this a a great place for that. Their private label is, IMO the best accepted private label in the country. Prices are excellent for most categories… wine is my favorite department. The gentleman passing out the wine tasting… was the most knowledgable person I’ve met in a very long time! He recommended a wine even tho they were out of it at the time and the next day I drove across town to buy it. The wine was listed as the #1 best value by Wine Spectator… great service… so he sold me wine and futured a sale the next day… I should give 5 stars just for him!

Good selection of wine and good quality meat, cheese and produce. However, the garlic focaccia bread was a bit weird. Being open until 9 on a Sunday was a plus for us since other stores in the area were already closed.

It was so nice to visit this place after all the crappy grocery stores in where I live. This one seemed a little smaller and sparse than the usual size, but maybe it was just me. We bought a couple jars of our favorite peanut butter(w/flaxseed) and unfortunately found out that there is a recall on them due to potential of salmonella cases. Thankfully, the recall was easy to find on their website. Just wish we didn’t live so far away! Bought a few bottles of Charles Shaw(2-Buck Chuck) reds to keep on hand for those friends are still developing their palettes for wine. 2-Buck tastes pretty good, and if your friends don’t like it, you don’t feel like you need to drink their glass of wine.

Oh suburbanish TJ’s in a non prohibition state how I love you! This Trader Joe’s features lots of wide aisles of food, a nice beer selection and wide cheap wine selection. What more do you need? Please note the $ 2 Chuck is now $ 3.29 Chuck but it’s still a great deal!

Clean, helpful and a great selection of low priced wine. We’ve heard a lot about 2 buck Chuck. We had to settle for 3 buck Chuck instead. Very surprised at how good it was. If we had one near us, we would be a regular.

Having recently transplanted here from a five-year stint in central Pennsylvania(dairy country), I had forgotten how EXPENSIVE and GROSS food was there until I walked back into this mecca for reasonably priced groceries. Ahh, T.J.s how I have missed you! Your beer and wine are far cheaper than a six-pack of what used to be locally brewed, nationally-distributed beer(Yuengling); you sell a large log of Chevre goat cheese for $ 3.99(I used to pay $ 9.99 for the same thing), $ 4.99 versus $ 8.99 for a bag of almonds and on and on and on. Even your meat and produce are better priced. As with all T. Js the staff is incredibly nice and energetic without making you crazy. While we were in there yesterday a massive thunderstorm broke and one of the employees was helping older people load groceries into their cars with an umbrella… you don’t really see that much anymore, and it made me really happy. This particular location seems pretty new; it was huge and well-stocked. More fruit than vegetables; I almost wish they would stop selling so much bagged vegg; I’d rather buy what’s only in-season than so much bagged nonsense(like bagged microwavable brussel sprouts? really?)
