First off, I really don’t like donuts. I don’t crave donuts, I’m not a donut person. That being said, I think Duck Donuts has made me a convert! Recently when on a trip to Williamsburg, my husband went out for an early morning walk and came back to the room with hot coffee and donuts that were still warm. Yummmmm! So many donuts just tast like sugar, these remind of donuts I had in my younger days that were rich tasting and memorable! Great with coffee, too! What a great way to start the day!

So im not a huge fan of donuts, but when they are good… man they hit the spot. Duck Donuts is going to be a highly missed spot since i live on the West Coast. A friend took me here say i had to try them as they were one of his favorite places growing up in the area. The donuts are made fresh to order and are really hot and thick, they have a different kind of dough that is a lot thicker, but delicious. I got a donut with maple and bacon as a topping, and it was amazing. I really hope i can make it back to this place!!! but just for the donuts. I also had a breakfast sandwich and coffee… and they came up short. I would probably not try anything else here but the donuts, they get a five star, but as far as the rest I had… ehhh I would pass.

Service is cordial, but I noticed customers being treated very differently based on ethnicity and age upon ordering while I waited. Good cake donut, but it’s all about the icing and added flavors. Yet without that it’s just a basic cake donut. I make my own yeast and cake donuts and nothing beats homemade, but these will do. Also, I have been to the Outer Banks location and these did not taste the same.

So delicious! The staff is always nice and it is very clean inside. I watch what I eat so I don’t go here often, but when I do it’s totally worth the calories! In my opinion, you MUST eat your donut here to truly experience it’s full deliciousness. They make each donut to order and it’s piping hot and decorated or topped however you want. My favorite donut is my own creation — a piping hot, fresh donut rolled in cinnamon sugar with a side of strawberry icing for dipping. Yum, I need to work out today so I can go get one this week! Also, this location is owned by a local Williamsburg family with young children, so it makes you feel good to support their business.

Donuts made to order. AMAZING!!! Hands down the best I’ve ever had. If you like Krispy Kreme, then you’ll love Duck donuts, the new DD(goodbye to Dunkin). All hail Duck Donut Dynasty. Each bite is warm, crunchy, and just delicious. Came all the way from New York.

It tastes like non franchise donut… freshly made and customizable! Light crispy outside and soft warm inside. Probably the freshest donuts around. They make it new when u order. Doesn’t get any fresher and warmer than that.

Love the concept. Hot, fresh doughnuts fried and moving along the conveyor belt as soon as you order, arriving at the frosting/topping station where each one is hand-dipped and topped to your liking. I can’t remember how much they cost but they were pretty darned cheap compared to where I’m from!

Awesome! Fresh, made to order doughnuts. .family will return. Haven’t had fresh doughnuts since Europe… tried lemon frosted, glazed, maple frosted and strawberry frosted, loved them all Now the hot chocolate was horrible… ordered 3 med hot chocolate no whip. Tasted like luke warm milk with sugar. nasty. But I will return for more doughnuts! !

For a donut place, a must to visit. All donuts are freshly made on order. Their bacon glazed donut is our favorite. A big debate between Duck and Krispy. My vote is Duck. My wife vote is Krispy. Need one in Philly.

personally I don’t like donuts too much, but I worked at the subway next door and got to know the owner. Very kind woman. She would often give our staff free donuts if she had leftover after the shop had closed. Very kind. Heard she treats employees very well and offers better starting pay. As far as the donuts go, they are smaller than average donuts, a little pricey, but not crazy expensive by any means. Lots of different kinds to choose from. Try them all, see what you like. You never know until you try it.

These doughnuts are uniquely delicious not only because they’re cake-like, but they’re served hot. The espresso type coffee is excellent and well made. The service is cheerful and polite. The Maple Bacon Donuts are amazing and Duck offers seasonal themed specials.

My wife told me about this place couple years ago when we were in Richmond she said that her sister went to this place in the donuts were out of this world so we were down in Williamsburg and we decided to stop in and see what was up and boy were we stopped for donuts were very fresh delicious and very flavorful. The different types of donuts are amazing and when you go when you see how the bill also made fresh and how they put them in spin all these donuts and the donuts that I selected were delicious however I wanted my snickers donut but my nephew had stolen it before I could eat it I was upset but you know what I mean.

We ate there two days in a row, because it was just so good. The first day, I had an egg and sausage sandwich on an english muffin, followed by a donut with chocolate icing and bacon. I washed it all down with a small mocha latte. My GF had an egg and bacon sandwich on a plain bagel, followed by a donut with lemon icing and sprinkles. All of it was freshly made and delicious. On the second day, we both ordered egg and bacon sandwiches on asiago bagels and followed them with donuts. My donut had maple icing and bacon, while hers had only chocolate icing. This time I washed it all down with a large mocha latte. All of it was delicious My only gripe is that there just wasn’t enough seating. The place was super crowded(though, they’re pretty fast, considering how many people they had to make fresh donuts for), which made standing there kind of uncomfortable … especially since there was only two tables, inside, both of which were occupied. Still, if you’re willing to take your breakfast with you(as we did), you can’t go wrong having breakfast at Duck Donuts.

I come out this way about once a week. I decided to try duck donuts since Emily’s is closed on Mondays. The service was fast and everyone was really friendly. The donuts were very hot and fresh. The shop was super clean. I enjoyed my visit and plan to come back next week. The prices were a lot more reasonable than I anticipated.

Items Selected: Apparently part of a growing franchise with several locations located in Virginia and North Carolina, Duck Donuts was the first food-centric stop on arrival to Williamburg and with the donut machine cranking out piping hot pastries to the smiles of several families one only wonders why such places are not far more common given the current trend in artisan doughnutteries popping up across the United States. Small in size and streamlined in format, the basic premise featuring a single wheat and corn flour base fried in soybean oil with several frostings and topping added to suit each customer’s taste, Duck Donuts lives by the promise of the«freshest donut anywhere,» and true to their word it was only after I placed a four part order that each ring marched down the conveyor-belt, flipped onto the drying rack, and received a quick pat before being dipped, topped, boxed, and placed into my hands — the whole process a mere three minutes from payment to first bite. Obviously piping hot, something others should bear in mind when considering the three minute comment above as that first bite resulted in one of those ‘oh damn, chewing with mouth open to let it cool off’ moments, it was in four different varieties of toppings that our tasting progressed and although each base was expectedly consistent and downright delicious the frostings were unfortunately a bit one-note, the ‘vanilla’ unfortunately just the flavor of sugar with strawberry mostly the same while the lemon was slightly sour and the maple featured light syrup notes beneath the salted nuts.

Two and a half stars. Service is polite, iced tea is unsweetened. Maple bacon donut will leave you feeling like you had a hearty breakfast. Too much oil soaked into the cake-style donut. While I appreciate real crumbled bacon instead of salad bits, most morsels were damp and not fully rendered, plus I got a scorched bit. Chocolate was rich and otherwise boring. Glazed, lemon or peanut butter icings, coconut or peanut toppings, or breakfast sandwiches might be more up my alley.
