A pleasant surprise. This hiding charm on campus coffee shop has delicious treats. The dirty chai was probably the best I’ve ever experienced. It’s a future spot when I visit Williamsburg.

We were staying at Fords Colony, and I looked up local coffee shops, and I thought I’d give this one a try. I didn’t realize it was in the middle of W&M campus :-). It was a Sunday afternoon, and it was PACKED with college students. I would be there all the time too, if I were them :-)What a cute place! I got a latte, and it was delicious and very reasonably priced. The menu looked so good, but I didn’t get anything to eat this time. I’d definitely like to go back again to try more things.

I might be slightly biased as I’m a student at the College and this is a bit of a social hotspot for me, but I really enjoy the Grind. All of the meals I’ve tried here have been quite good, save the pizza panini, which was decidedly mediocre both times I had it. Usually I just get a drink; they have great chai lattes and mochas. Definitely recommend for reasonably priced coffee and tea, or just to get a taste of William and Mary!

I’ll go anywhere that has a decent ice mocha, and they have good food as well. The coffee is good and the price is on par with places that serve good coffee. It’s a good place to go early in the morning, and it has particularly good seating inside or outside, internet, and access to outlets.

Great for college students, maybe not townies. Amazing coffee and tea selection.

Based on other reviews I was surprised by my experience today. First we walked in and weren’t sure where to place order; not one person acknowledged us(verbally or visually) and there were people standing everywhere talking around the«bar.» After a few minutes we moved over to the other side and finally got someone’s attention. They were out of most canned/bottled drinks. We ordered a breakfast taco and a veggie hummus sandwich. First, very difficult to read the menu board and there is ZERO description on what you are ordering. So, tacos were not eaten as the toppings were not at all what was envisioned and the bacon ordered was actually sausage. Veggie hummus sandwich was ok, but very bland and surprisingly greasy — sliced greyish/green tomato slice didn’t help and can only assume there was hummus as it wasn’t seen or tasted. Service was quite poor. Restaurant was close to filthy. Menu difficult to read and gives no description(forget asking). Food quality wasn’t terrible, but not great. If you want coffee and pre-baked muffins-this is your place. Looking for a tasty lunch? Head to Wawa like we did after throwing this in the trash.

The best coffee and tea in Williamsburg. I like that they use local farms and everything is made in house from organic ingredients. I love that the people who work there are all part of the William and Mary Community. One important tip… It does get super crowded during exam times. I believe some students live at the grind! So Its good to know that you can sit outside or in the courtyard next to the U.C. If its nice outside I like to have a picnic in the sunken garden!

Wonderful coffee shop located at the heart of the William and Mary campus. The Daily Grind will turn into a second home as you see the same friendly faces day after day. The menu is full of delicious breakfast items, salads, and sandwiches; offering a variety of items for any number of taste preferences or dietary restrictions. The staff is also very accommodating for dogs with a large water bowl and lots of outdoor seating!

I learned more in this building than in any of my other classes. Best coffee in town(heard from multiple people). Muffins and scones are outstanding. Highly recommend it.

This place is like a coffee shop time capsule from 1993. It often has some sort of alt-rock/grunge playing and the atmosphere is just great. Their coffee is delish too!

Great little college coffeehouse with awesome outdoor seating. This is a standby for many a W&M faculty when caffeine is needed to facilitate some academic networking, or if you just wish to relax from the stresses of teaching. The place has a nice, wood-paneled feel, funky drinks, scones, bagels, teas, and all that you really need to kick back, sip some hot beverages, and leave reality for a few blissful minutes. Students like it, too. It’s convenient, it’s tasty, and it’s hip(esp. by Williamsburg standards). You don’t need much more than that.
