Boy… I sure wanted to try out this place for the longest time. I’ve passed by many times over the years and seen the long lines on the weekends. I finally got my opportunity this past weekend. The stand is located directly off the I5 exit in Williams. They have a gravel parking lot and plenty of street parking. I didn’t use the restroom so I don’t the condition of that. To tell you the truth, I use the restroom at Granzellas. Those are open to the public and are modern and clean. Apparently the menu is the same menu they’ve had for over 6 years with the new prices taped over the old ones. I wanted to try the tamale which only comes in pork but they ran out. So I ordered the cabeza street taco. It was $ 2. It came out piping hot. The meat was fatty, a bit chewy, and very liquidy. I’ve had cabeza before at other taquerias and the meat is more stewed like soft. The tortilla wasn’t grilled. But the salsa was delicious and on the kicker side in spice flavor. My little taco came with a bit of sliced radish and wedge if lime. I would come here again and try other items, not the cabeza taco though.

Why can’t a Mexican restaurant make an edible chili rellano? This place is disgusting. I travel through here every single week & decided to give it a try. DONOTSTOPHERE! Simply go to Granzellas & get a sandwich.

On the way home from a long day of racing at Thunderhill Raceway we decided to stop at this taqueria. Mixed review and few options had us questioning out decision but decided to give it a try anyway. Upon arrival, the place looks like an authentic spot. Once we received our order we proceeded to evaluate the Tacos. The food was priced a bit on the high side. The tacos are small and don’t have much taste. While some individuals in my group liked them, and insisted on deserving a better review, I firmly believe these tacos are no better than any other average taco I’ve ever had. The meet needed more seasoning and I had to order more tacos as I was unaware a $ 2 taco could possibly be that small. Don’t think I would be going back out of my own will, but if tacos are on my mind and I find myself at this same spot, I would consider giving it a 2nd chance.

I stopped in today for the second time, was right next door and thought I’d give it another try as my first experience wasn’t great(had a burrito then). Ordered 4 tacos, 2 carnitas and 2 pastor. Carnitas were soggy and the pastor had a ton of fat and not much flavor. Tacos were small and portions tiny(I eat at taco wagons all the time for real street food, so I’m not making a comparison to the likes of Taco Bell!) do yourself a favor, go the couple extra blocks into town and eat at La Fortuna, puts this place to shame and the employees actually act like they care!

We stopped off the freeway to gas up and eat. Our meal at this taco stand was as much as the tank of gas for my Prius. Outdoor seating only. The food actually tasted good, but the price was ridiculous for 2 combo plates and 2 drinks, especially since the tacos were the smallest I have ever seen for al– poster tacos. I am used to 6 inch diameter fried tacos and 4 inch diameter al poster tacos, but these were 3 inch tacos. When folded my taco was 1 inch high and held very little fillings. Left feeling cheated and hungry. The bright side of the meal was getting jumped by a gang of 20 – 30 vato flies. My 9 year old was begging to go to the car after they lifted her enchilada on blocks and stole the cheese. We made it to the car, but couldn’t out run all of them, so we had a running gun battle for the rest of the drive home. I think I still see a few of them in the driveway stalking us, so we are laying low for a few days hoping they give up and go back to the taco stand.

This place was satisfactory for a road trip stop. The tacos were good, especially the carnitas one. The chicken was a bit too greasy(there was a small puddle of grease on my plate).

Delicious burritos and tacos. Some of the best horchata I’ve ever had — perfect spicing. However, it loses a point for very weak nachos(canned sauce?!) and charging for chips and salsa. Super easy access off the I-5. We will be back!

Best stop in Williams, and just to avoid the usual burger joints and support a local business. Usual Taqueria fair including horchata and jamaica and nice servers, solid food

Decided to stop during our RV trip from Redding where we stayed for a couple days, traveling down to Half Moon Bay. The hubby decided he would rather try his chances at a taqueria stand then brave the boring, tasteless, unsatisfying, saturated fat of McDonald’s or Burger King. It’s a real shame when when a hole in the wall isn’t very good. Then all u r left w/is a hole in the wall. Food was mediocre compared to what we are used to in the San Francisco mission district. Price was only disappointing because of the taste & amount of food. Hubby had a chicken burrito that was pretty tasteless. My taco was a bit tastier(of course I did douse it w/hot salsa & jalapeños), but ridiculously small. $ 12 — Not going to be a repeat for us.

The tacos here are the real deal. With less than two bucks each I ordered a trifecta of tacos. Steak, Chicken, and Carnitas. The chicken taco was hands down the best one. The meat was very tender, juicy, and tasted all around amazing. If I could make chicken taste that good I would never eat any other kind of meat ever again. The steak taco was my second favorite. A little greasy, but still packed with so much flavor. The carnitas fall last because, even though the flavor was good, the meat was very dry. Each taco was topped with cilantro, dice onion, and salsa, then wrapped in two warm homemade corn tortillas. The dish also had slice radish and a nice charred jalapeño decorating the plate. The place is very small, and the ones working the place aren’t the nicest people around. However with food like this, I would happily return.

Williams is a small valley town right off I5 and Robertas is conveniently close to the exit. It’s kind of old, like it was a drive in 50 years ago. Food is off the chain so good. Ceviche tostadas! You must try them! Bathroom is pretty primitive, but clean so that’s all good. Worth an exit if you are headed between Redding & Sac or SF

Wow. Great find on the way back from Clearlake. Very authentic mexican food. Had the especial burrito with Cabeza and a carnitas tostada.

The burrito I got was huge and simple, but very tasty. I would say that for the size, the price was good. The issue that kind of ruined the experience was the group of men having lunch who seemed to work right behind the taqueria(car washing/mechanic services). Two of them would NOT stop blatantly staring at me as I ordered, waited for my order, ate, and left. They were snickering a bit at my refusal to let them totally get to me, and said a few things in reference to me that they very likely assumed I didn’t understand(except I did, as I can understand Spanish). Then one of them left and pulled his car directly next to mine as the others jeered, and he and two of his buddies hung by my door until I came to it(with the friend I was with) and leered at me until I drove off. This group of men is apparently often there for lunch. They may be awesome people, but they weren’t saying awesome things or being respectful at the time. Just keep an eye out :)

If you pass by Williams and want to increase the road trip feeling you should stop here and enjoy a burrito and some tacos with the truckers. Good food. The guacamole was a bit pale, seemed to be produces elsewhere.

Fake cheese. And they don’t mix the burrito, like they don’t, the beans and the sour cream is on the bottom, so now I just have some stuff and not all of it. And they use too much paper. And they use too much Styrofoam. And they get irritated when we aksed for black beans and they didn’t have it. We did ask twice though. When I asked for real cheese she said oooh my gawwwwwd. We still left a tip tho.

Having stopped and eaten here several times during my travels, I realized that I’d yet to review this place! Great selection of Mexican dishes here and they often feature specials that are more on the exotic side. During one of my visits, I tried fish mole for the first time as I’ve never encountered mole prepared this way before. The only aspect of the food that wasn’t quite to my liking is the way the pork(whether it’s carnitas or al pastor) is prepared is way too salty for me. So, I generally pick chicken or fish(if they have it at the time) instead. However, judging from the reviews, I think most people like things saltier than I do. Finally, I always get the horchata beverage here!

Bomb, authentic Mexican food. Just like abuelitas. We had a chicken enchalada plate, beef and chicken tacos and a quesadilla. Every bite was devoured gratefully by our hungry group. The ladies were friendly and cooked our food to our liking. We are a very satisfied party right now. Thanks!!!

Driving from SF to Ashland, ORE… This is not food, it may resemble food, but do not be fooled. This is a dirty shack on a dirt lot, which normally is a signifier of great Mexican food. Not here. Should have gone to Green Burrito across the highway.

A biker told me I had to try the carnitas tacos. I got one and a pollo and they were fantastic. Served with lemon(I prefer lime), radish sliced and peppers it knocked Granzella’s down a notch as a fav pit stop. Granzella’s is good for a bathroom break but resist their expensive food and come have delish $ 1.70 tacos!

Super burrito needs two hands, I dig the salsa. Comes w a pickled pepper. Yum all around save for the bland rice(says my eating partner) More fun than Granzella’s
