The absolute worse pizza on the boardwalk. No need to wait in line. Hit any other of the 100 pizza joints in wildwood.

I don’t understand all of the positive reviews. I am not a food expert but I have been to hundreds of pizza points and sadly this one does not deliver. The pizza simply seemed tasteless. I was looking forward to trying this place but all I can say is don’t believe the hype. Went to Macks two days later and it was far better and I am not one of those Mack and Manko minions. I rarely give a place 1 star but bad pizza is bad pizza. Sorry

So I’m passing by and I decide to stop to get a plain slice. As soon as I got my slice they closed the dining room and one of the staff lit up a cigarette in the store and started smoking it. Not the best thing to look at when you are eating. Slice was decent

Crust is so crispy, tomato sauce is sweet, and cheese is perfectly proportioned. Their pizza is so delicious!!! Drooling thinking about it, and I just ate a slice!

If you are ever in Wildwood NJ, I would definitely recommend going to Sam’s Pizza! The best ‘New York style’ pizza I have ever had! The large slices with gooey cheese is to die for! Sometimes the lines are long if you want to dine inside, so I just grab a slice to go! Yum :)

Not specifically reviewing a particular Sam’s Pizza Palace visit, just my experiences overall. This is the best pizza you can get anywhere. A nostalgic and family culinary tradition for many, this is one of those few places that actually lives up to the hype. Two slices of plain, fresh from the oven, sprinkled with a little garlic powder. Large Dr. Pepper on the side with that amazing Sam’s crushed ice.(Oh, that ice.) Simple, delicious, timeless. DON’T FORGET! Your meal is not complete without Curley’s Fries from across the boardwalk. The best fries in the world,(see my separate review on them) and the perfect add on to your Sam’s Pizza. Sam’s opens within the next few weeks for the 2016 season, best of luck to them for another great and successful year. I am counting down the days until I return for my first slice of the summer.

Believe the hype. Ate there three times in a one week vacation. Best experience was during lunch when it wasn’t crowded at all, but all three pies were legit. They didn’t reinvent the wheel(pie) or anything, but it’s the best slice on the boardwalk, and the prices are comparable, so why bother with the rest? Service was very friendly too.

Whenever I’ve visited the Wildwood Boardwalk, i have always seen a line waiting to get in this place and the line at the take out window is just as long, if not longer. This year i finally decided to make this my first stop for an early dinner rather than beating the boards until i were starving. 15 minute wait to get seated, which is far better than others I know. The place is clean even if it is a little noisy as this place always seems to be packed. The server was pleasant and helpful and quick to get anything i asked for. There must have been 15 people working behind the counter just prepping/making the food. It was most interesting to watch them work and listen to their method to control the madness that was the never ending rush. Our pizza came out quickly and directly to the table still steaming. All the build up was for naught, however. That first bite led to a major disappointment as it was filled with pizza that tasted average. But that seems to be par for the course any more, no pizza place seems to have outstanding pies these days. Except for maybe Macks Pizza, The cost seem to be on par with other places, especially taking in to consideration that this place is located on the boardwalk.

My kids love Sam’s Pizza, so we’ve gone here for lunch a couple of times. The first time it was just okay. Today’s pizza was very good. The bread was nice. The crust was crispy underneath with the right amount of cheese and sweet tomato sauce. The plain slices are good. The pepperoni slices are even better. My sausage slice surpassed my expectations. I might raise my review a star if my next visit equals today’s visit. I like the«everything Italian» décor on the walls. It’s a little campy, a little fun, a little Jersey shore. Perfect for its location. The prices are great and the service is fast.

Great pizza, great price and downstairs from the Shore Plaza/across from Gateway 26. If you just want a quick snack, or kick back in your room… this is the place to go. The only downside is dining room restrictions. There is ALWAYS a line and you can’t get a table unless you order a whole pie.

The short– very good pizza at the right price. Not the best ever. Quick service and a smile, even when it was packed. The long — after researching pizza on Unilocal,we decided on Sam’s. If you walk the boardwalk, its perfect. If you drive, you are going to get butt hammered on the parking meter. The food — the choices are short and sweet, its one size and a small list of toppings. I was excited about that because it meant that what was available should be down to a tasty science. We ordered two pizzas, one white pizza, and one half cheese/half pepp. I’ve heard everyone talking about this pizza as if we were going to levitate above the Earth when we bit into it. The crust was not too thin or too thick, and it had those wonderful blackened bottoms, with the table prep dust still on your fingers. Not over cooked or under. The outer crust was about ¾″ wide, just right for holding. The slice was able to stay straight without sagging even when it first came to the table. Just the right amount of cheese, but I have to say the sauce was too sparse and just not very flavorful. Tomato pizza sauce should be «tomato-ee». I just didn’t get that much taste. It really brought down all the hype. Overall, good, but the word great is more legend than actual. To be fair, it was a Friday night, and opening season for the summer, so they were cranking out pizzas like the world would stop turning unless they made a pizza every 9 seconds. The service– I couldn’t ask for a better balance of speed, attitude and attention during the busiest time to sit and eat at Sams. The restaurant. Plenty of seating. Comfortable enough for all 7 of us(1 in a high chair). ALWAYS go to the bathroom first to see if it’s clean. It was very clean. Remember– this is a pizza joint on the boardwalk, and a mega busy time. That bathroom could have looked like a port-a-pottie at the Firefly Festival. It was very well kept. That means a clean place to eat. Overall– I give it 4 stars for the overall experience. Its really 3.5 but I couldn’t choose that on here. when I have to salt my pizza slice to draw out flavor, I think some sauce adjustment could help.

Everyone has their favorite Boardwalk pizza place. I think sam’s is the best Their pizza is like pizza should be, how you remember it as a kid. It is not greasy and the cheese is chewy and stringy the way it should be. There are many places on the wildwood boardwalk to eat but I keep coming back to sam’s. Be forewarned it is cash only

I simply can’t understand, why there was super long line, every night, outside Sam’s Pizza Palace. At least there was on Memorial Day Weekend. Maybe I have more sophisticated palate than others. Maybe I’m not a fan of pizza by the slice, but as far as I’m concerned, Sam’s Pizza was a bad slice of pizza. I bought one slice with mushroom topping, and as I’m eating the large slice, I didn’t feel it was so fresh or so tasty. Two Unilocal

My friends took me here for lunch when we were in town visiting Cape May. The pizza came out hot and fresh and was absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed the mushroom pizza and a pepperoni pizza!

One of the only places open on Boardwalk in March. Pizza was ok, sauce lacked salt. Taken back by our waitress that seemed to be happy to say they do not serve lemon with soda, and that they do not have Parmesan cheese for pizza. Was rudely asked if it was our first time at the restaurant. I guess they take pride in not offering certain condiments to their customers. Told her it was our second time, and I forgot about their no frills menu. Cheap lunch. Will be vacationing in WW this summer. Will probably walk by to get Macks pizza instead.

Best pizza we’ve tasted thus far on the Southern Jersey coast. The first time we had a slice of Sam’s cheese pizza was while we were walking along the boardwalk during the fall. Crispy bottom, yummy cheese and tasty sauce. Simple and spectacular. I’ve always been a combination pizza type of girl and Sam’s has definitely converted me to the simplicity of a plain cheese pizza. My pizza cravings were so intense during my first trimester that we had to order a whole pie one night for Friday night dinner. I had to refrain from eating the whole thing in one sitting. :) Quick and fast service. Can’t wait until they reopen again for the spring season. If you’re looking for the ultimate cheese pizza, this is your place!
