My husband and I have been here half a dozen times and will continue to revisit this Wichita gem. Although the exterior may turn you off from trying it out, don’t be fooled! The food and service never cease to please you and make your tummy happy! It’s a small restaurant lobby but so worth the squeeze! And, you might get your picture taken for their wall ;) An added bonus, they play great Christian music and have a good selection of books.

A sweet little dive type atmosphere. The owners wife serves you and the owner cooks your meal. She was kind and super helpful. I ordered the bi bim bop(mixed rice and veggie bowl). It comes out burn your tough hot in a stone bowl. Your food is hot until the last bite in this bowl and if you leave a little layer of rice at the bottom of the bowl until the end then it becomes golden brown, crispy and Party in Tummy-Yummy! All your orders come with three different types of kimchi(Green bean kimchi is my favorite, you can tell that they make it in house) The seating is tight but the spot is right. I go at least once a month for their homey like soul food feel.

I think I’ve tried everything«Korean» on their menu. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the champong. Other than that, everything else is very tasty. It’s getting a bit too pricey though(I think everything is almost $ 10 now?) so I don’t come as often as I used to. I remember asking the owner if I could work there because I liked their food so much. Manna Wok feels like home and the owners are super sweet.

The bi bim bop is a must! It’s number K6 on the menu at approx 10 bucks it comes with a pretty big portion of Koren veggies, rice, kim chi, egg and beef. The kim chi is given to you separately in a small container if you’re taking your food to go. The egg was not necessarily over easy so I want able to get that runny yolk taste, but overall it was well made and decently priced.

Eating here is like having dinner in a professor’s study, complete with overstocked bookshelves and pictures of friends on the walls. The place is crowded, but the food is delicious. It appears to be literally a mom & pop establishment where all members of a friendly family chip in. A great place for take out or a quiet family dinner.

So far, my favorite Korean place in Wichita. They have a good sized menu. It is a hole in the wall kind of place but don’t let that turn you off. The food is delicious and reasonably priced.

MW is a nice family-owned restaurant with decent Korean cuisine for a low price. Do not expect much from the décor; it’s small, quaint, but it does give you that wholesome family feel when you walk in. There’s books aligned against the walls and a few tables in a VERYSMALL rectangular room. The service is something you can always count on though, because the family is so nice and helpful. My favorite dish is the bulgogi over noodles. Yes, you can have that option as opposed to the rice. The kim chi is great here too, especially the pickled cucumbers. For Wichita, this is pretty decent Korean.

The food is good and i like their kimchi. I’m not Korean, so I don’t know if the taste is authentic. But it works for me. The space is tiny and has a personality. Owners are sweet and their sons are pretty good looking :) I can take out a book from the row along the wall and scan through while waiting for my food. This restaurant is college student’s favorite. If you are looking for something high end, this is not your place.

Don’t let the tiny building scare you! I got the japchae and it was delicious and very authentic.

Lets see, hole in the wall, would have normally driven by it and not think twice about going in. With that said, I was meeting up with some folks and was blown away on how great the food was. If I were local I would hit this place up regularly.

Overall, the food is decent. I’ve had the kim bab, which I liken to a Korean sushi roll, but nothing is raw. There’s a pickled radish rolled in there. Not something I’m interested in getting again. Bi Bim Bap was good, but there was not enough crisped rice on the outside to rave about this dish. I’ve also had one of their spicy tofu soups, but it was not that great. Neither my friend nor I finished the dish. I think that I like the idea of a neighborhood Korean restaurant(just check out all the pics on the wall) than the actual execution. I lived near a significantly sized Korean community back in Northern Virginia, and the food was very good there. Though this does not quite compare, it does make a good attempt. Service is always fine there. I’ve gone through the kitchen a couple of times, since that’s how you get to their tiny closet of a restroom. So I know that the kitchen is sanitary.

If you aren’t looking for this place, it’s very easy to miss. It looks like an abandoned shack with cars parked around it. What the restaurant lacks in size, it makes up for with personality. Upon entering, you’ll notice that this restaurant is tiny. There are pretty much just two employees. I assume they are husband and wife. Wife takes orders and husband cooks. They are very friendly and sweet. Its almost like being cooked for by grandma. Unlike other reviewers, the food here disappointed me. I’ve been here two or three times now and I’m still disappointed. I’ve eaten Korean food everywhere including in Korea. This place is unfortunately subpar. I feel bad saying this because I really wanted it to be good, and it seemed so promising… being a mom and pop hole in the wall. The bibimbop bowl was not hot enough to crisp the rice. The veggies for it weren’t fresh and crisp. The meat wasn’t flavorful. There also wasn’t much ban chan with our dishes. The rice noodles dish lacked bite and was bland. The kimchi tasted acrid to me. I don’t know if it’s because its hard to find quality Korean ingredients in our small little town, or if it’s just simply not that good. I love hole in the wall establishments but this place just doesn’t cut it for me. Such a shame.

Very very small dining area and small building in general so you will definitely smell like a korean grill after you leave! I always get the Stir Fry Rice Cake! It is so good! It’s like a doughy pastaish thinger but its delicious. My friends get the Bi Bim Rice Stone Bowl and the Beef Bulgogi. The entrees all come with either soup/salad/kimchee; don’t get the soup, always really bland! It’s a mom and pop restaurant and they’re so nice, so give em a shot and try something new :)

I am so glad I found this place! Best Korean food in Wichita. I ate here for lunch and got the Chapchae(sweet potato noodles) and it came with all the little pickled sides. It was so delicious I came back the next day for dinner and got the Bulgogi.

I happened to go to this place recently as my date had recommended it so I said why not. First off I did not know this place existed especially for living in Wichita most of my life. The restaurant itself is not really big and doesn’t seat a lot of people but what I enjoyed most was being in a quiet atmosphere at 7:15pm when we were there. I tried their chicken teriyaki and I know I should’ve had their bulgogi since it is a korean bbq restaurant. Perhaps next time though. My date ordered the Kim Chi Fried rice and said hers was great as goes for mine as well. Another thing I thought was cool as they have tons of photos from customers who have came in and it just so happened my date used to work at the restaurant back in HS so that was also a cool thng to learn. Overall if you want a great meal that isn’t heavy on the wallet then you should try the place out.

The building is small, and the tables do not offer a lot of room, but I really enjoy their food. Photos of happy customers over the years adorn the walls. I love their Bi Bim Bap and the delicious kimchi sides.

The smaller the building, the better the food finds, and Manna Wok bowls me over with some killer Korean. That’s if you can find someplace to sit, of course — the dining room seats about twenty. I’m about as Korean as the Statue of Liberty, but my TV’s a Samsung, and I drive a Kia, so I’m no stranger to Korean wares. Let’s do this. A lot of the uninitiated dog on Kimchi, but I don’t know why. Sure, «fermented cabbage» doesn’t sound very appetizing, but it’s a very close cousin to sauerkraut. The differences come in the pickling temperature and duration, both of which are lower for kimchi, and the Korean dish also contains other ingredients like chiles, garlic, and fish sauce. Of course, the kimchi of today is much more than just cabbage, and can be any vegetable that goes through the same pickling process — say, for example, cucumber, green beans, and kale, which were presented to me before my meal(pictured) I liked the cucumber more than the others, but it served as an example that those people who say«I don’t like kimchi» don’t really know what they’re talking about. It’s like saying«I don’t like curry» to Indians. The dolsot bibimbap wasn’t on the lunch menu, but that didn’t stop me. The large steaming stone bowl that eventually arrived was chock full of rice, mushrooms, beef, vegetables, and topped with an egg that cooked by the heat of the bowl. Combining the egg with the rest of the ingredients gave everything a nice creamy texture that should be familiar to fans of carbonaras. While we were eating, we posed for a picture. At first, I thought it was because of my notoriety and general all-around handsomeness, but then I realized that nearly every square inch of the wallspace was plastered with pictures from diners past. At the very least, it serves as a testament to just how many people have enjoyed Manna Wok’s eats. At best, it’s the quirky type of hook that you would expect from a small Korean shack that serving some of the best Korean food Wichita has to offer.

Manna Wok is the most unassuming good restaurant I’ve ever been to that was not an American BBQ place. No atmosphere here… but don’t be scared away. I have to admit a few things: I don’t know much about Korean fare, and I am addicted to about three things on the menu and have not tried the rest. But those three things have been very fresh and very tasty; the bi bim bap/“stone bowl” is a remarkable concoction of rice, beef, onions, a bunch of stuff I can’t remember with an unforgettable fried egg on top served in a small black hot as hell mini-cauldron. Very tasty. The rice cakes dish is also very good. I like the kimchi, myself. Probably never had better, but what can you say… tastes good to me and it’s the best in these parts!

Do not go here. I am Korean and I realize that there aren’t many Koreans in Wichita, KS. I was here on business travel and I decided to stop by because I was craving Korean food. So I dropped by Manna Wok. The rule of thumb at a Korean restaurant is that if the Side dishes are below par, it’s a reflection of what’s to come and also a reflection of the restaurant. They had a metal plate of side dishes that were all jumbled up on that plate. There was spicy green beans, kimchi and cucumber kimchi. All of which was unsatisfactory. I ordered some fried potstickers and low and f’ing behold they were chinese triangle style potstickers… now, I realize that this place is supposed to be both Korean and Chinese, but I asked the waitress what else I should order and she had suggested Fried potstickers so I went for that. She didn’t even let me know that they were chinese style when I was talking to her in Korean. Ridiculous. Two stars because they were friendly. Oh and I also noticed that they had jajjangmyun, but I didn’t get a chance to try it.
