Not authentic Korean bbq. Kimchi pancake was watery and fell apart. I could go on and on. People who have never eaten authentic Korean bbq, will have no idea how awesome the food is. It is sad when even the wait staff says that the place is over priced and not authentic. Come here if you would like to spend $ 92 for 2 people!

Incredible! I’ve lived in Manhattan NY, New Orleans and LA — and this place is the best of them when it comes to authentic and high-quality Korean food at this price point. In fact, at any price point! I was surprised. Love it! Everything was GREAT. When I visit Wichita, this is my new go-to place.

Delicious Korean food. We opted to order off the menu instead of grilling meat at the table. I had the dolsot with beef and my husband had the haemul dolsot. His was a little spicier than he imagined it would be but otherwise it was perfect. The five banchan they served were wonderful. My favorite was the fish cake. The wait staff were very attentive and the décor and ambience were very nice. Overall, we had a good experience.

I went with a friend yesterday to get some protein in after working out and we were quite satisfied with the food and service. The two of us ordered beef bulgogi. We were going to order more food but we were already full by the time we finished the bulgogi! It was my second time there, and I think they made the portions bigger than before. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. My glass of water was never empty. –1 star because we ran out of lettuce pretty quickly(I think there were like five lettuce leaves). However, they will give you more if asked. Overall, I had a good experience there and am definitely going back.

Did the grill thing; meat was fresh other entrée was marinated; only negative about the meal was the«fresh» lettuce came out very cold, like they had just pulled it out of the freezer, so the edges of the leaves were wilting and starting to turn brown. Every time I made a lettuce wrap and bit into it it was cold then warm. Plenty of banchan(little side dishes of pickled veggies), servers were very helpful and attentive, we were able to ask for additional veggies no charge, assuming that goes also for the rice. I ordered pork belly, looked like bacon, my son had marinated spicy chicken with veggies. Also ordered a «Presidente margarita»(drinks are expensive) and it was so so taste.

Not sure how long this will stick around. It’s the kind of place you go once for the novelty and maybe location before seeing a movie in Old Town… and then remember ‘hey remember that one time…’ Nothing really calls you back for more. Food is unmemorable and service is mediocre at best. We paid $ 36 for two entrees, which I’ve seen others complain about portion size and prices, and I didn’t think it was half bad for the experience – but again, it’s nothing to write home about. My husband and I shared the tofu bibimbap(which was the highlight) and the beef bulgogi cooked table side with veggies. While i’ve had better banchan at other Korean places in town, it sufficed for the one meal. We dined on a Saturday night around 6:30PM and there was no wait.

Being from Hawaii I appreciate the Korean food they offer. Great work on them and other people should learn to apprecite the work and culture and what they have to offer for being in the Midwest. :):):) P. S. Filler bartender is awesome!

Based on the portion amounts for two people, there was a lot of food. Ordered the La Kalbi and Ribeye, marinade on the Kalbi were done just right and I enjoyed the flavor. Ribeye was good too and did not have too much fat on it. Side dishes are included and they NOLONGER charge for extra sides. Servers were very attentive throughout meal but by the end of meal it took them a long time just to close out the check. Seems like each server is suppose to watch their own section, I had to tell some other server to run my card. Overall, I would be willing to go back again. They will probably start expanding the menu which I’m excited for. Also, expect to smell like food after leaving duhhhh

Great authentic Korean BBQ! Meat is savory, smoky, and a tad sweet, and a lot of fun to cook! You get five sides per meat order, and they’ve now accommodated customers preferences and don’t charge for additional sides! The sides, rice, and meat go great together. There are other menu items to choose from too, I had the yukgae-jang soup which was perfect– just spicy enough! Overall great place and experience, reminds me of Korean town in NYC!

The food here is awesome! We got the bulgogi and pork belly on the grill and the food portions were perfect. The side dishes are endless and the kimchi was very fresh. They had minimal staff so it took awhile to be seated and our waitress was a little slow but I’m still giving it 5 stars for the deliciousness.

$ 22 for Bulgogi is very ambitious, especially for a brand new restaurant. Check out the menu & decide for yourself…

The Verdict: It was pretty good. I got what I expected. Got LA kalbi and samgyeopsal(pork belly). Wish the pork belly was a bit thicker(1/8″ thickness). The pork belly is frozen, I kinda didn’t mind that cause it was easier to handle. The sauces they gave us was salt peppered sesame oil and soybean paste. If you ask for the other chili ssamjang sauce, they only have bibimbap sauce that’s the watered down sweeter version. Banchan are decent variation and amount, but they charge $ 2 for extra side! Lame! The sweetened pickled daikon and carrots are odd yet I don’t mind it, but I’ve seen weirder(potato salad). Other sides: house kimchi, fish cakes, onion pancake, and seaweed mix. House kimchi is decent, wish it was more than just napa cabbage though. Not too sour or not too salty. We also got yukgaejang soup, it’s mild in heat. Thank goodness that it’s not too spicy! Only down side to this restaurant is, yes it’s pricy, not as much«other options» as in small eats … it’s a bar, and no soju? I don’t mind paying $ 50 bucks for 2 meats but I would like Banchan and vegetables for grilling to be complimentary. Otherwise it’s not worth it. I can tell management is not as organized and it affected service. I believe somethings needed to be worked on. It’s a fairly new restaurant. So I’ll give it some slack.

Not a good place to go. Terrible service. My friend got empty water glass from the beginning to the end of the meal. Normally, waitress should check and see how their customer going, this place, I didn’t see anything like that, the waitress just stand in the back and chit chat. It was unacceptable service. No smile, I felt like I was going to beG for good or something like that. You need customers, doesn’t mean I as customer needing you to get full belly. Just keep it in mind! Or I went out in wrong day and met wrong person. Food? Horrible, the meat took from frozen, the flavor and the meat was not mixed together yet. Price? Stupid expensive. We are in Wichita, not any fancy or traveling city. I do know that your place is good place, but don’t make it over price. With that price, we can go and eat at a lot of place with full belly of 4 Adults. $ 2 – 3 dollars for 1 side? Are you kidding me? All of your small sizes are from bottle, specially Kim Chi, it would be find in a lot of Asian market in town. If you want and have a good profit at beginning, you should make it. Learn and find some things about Korean before opening one. Don’t try to wear a big outfit with small body. I’m a very big fan of Korean food. I hope I would have good experience in here, but I got nothing from Korean. Very disappointed!!! Let’s see how long will you stay there!

Very good! I eat all over the country one of the best. Owner stopped by the table to ask how things were. Very friendly. Clean, new and personable staff.

I’ve been to numerous Korean BBQ places and this has been the absolute worse. Most Korean BBQ places have the grill seasoned/oiled to prevent the meat sticking to the grill, this place does not. They start you off with 5 side dishes for the table. Again, most Korean BBQ places it’s unlimited side dishes. This place charges $ 2.00 for EACHADDITIONALSIDE. How do they expect you to share 5 small dishes among two people; it’s barely enough for one person, let alone two. The«white radish» side dish is the Vietnamese banh mi dressings that you get out of the Asian market. It does not fit well as a Korean side dish. One of the workers/owners kept coming over and adding more meat to the grill. We kept telling him we didn’t want the food all at once, and we were there to enjoy the experience. Needless to say, I don’t think he understood. If you’re there to try the ramen, don’t. The Neoguri instant noodle packages they use is clearly seen into the kitchen from the tables.

2 weeks in and there are some major flaws. Wait time to get a grill table was 1.5 hours. Granted we had 9 people, but our group called to see if they took reservations or call ahead and was told no. While we waited we noticed other large parties that came after us. The host apologized and stated she was new and did not know. Once seated our party ordered food with our drinks to cut back time. 30 minutes later we’re sitting with our drinks, side dishes and rice and noticed the grill was hot and starting to burn. Waitress came over and apologized for the wait, she forgot to press the send button for the kitchen to see the order. With such large parties, they only serve one set of side dishes. We asked for another set from the owner and he smiled and brought them promptly. Extra rice and side dishes are for an additional cost. I ordered the beef bulgogi it came with green onions, white onions, and 2 mushrooms. It had good flavor. My favorite from the side dishes were the fishcake and the kimchi. Service was good, our waitress expressed that they were under staffed and that she has pulled a double for a few days. However, she was still smiling and very polite especially how frustrated our group was. The total dinning time at Jinji was 3.5 hours. I’m going to leave this review here and will update it when I return again. First impressions make or break restaurants, especially in Wichita. I’m hopeful with time they will straighten out the problems

The food was amazing. The restaurant was really nice. It was our waiter’s first day and he did a great job. Would like to see other Korean dishes on the menu. Only complaint is they charge $ 2 for each extra bowl of rice, side dish and $ 5 for lettuce. We have eaten at Korean Grills in several other states and have never been charged for these. I don’t mind paying nearly $ 50 for the two orders of meat but not an extra for each side item, rice and lettuce. It doesn’t sit well. Will try again and hopefully they change this.
