It was my first time coming to this hair salon I had a great salon experience my haircut and color were done to perfection Leo took the time to talk to me about what I wanted and made sure the color he chose for me was perfect. My hair has never looked so healthy I’m very happy. . And definitely will come back to this hair salon.

Here since they opened. I really only use 1 lady. Lourdes! She is the only person whom I trust cutting my hair. She’s a doll, sweet tells you if that’s a good style, color and etc! If I tell her 3 inches to cut only that’s all she cuts. $ 27 isn’t bad for a wash and cut.

Dalha is the best part of this salon. She does exactly what i ask for in terms of color and cut. She makes it worth overlooking all of the negatives. First of all, if you dont live in the neighborhood then you don’t get their coupons. I tried to find an online coupon right before I was paying. The receptionist would not help me. I’m a regular and drive from Astoria to get my hair done there. They should at least give me their coupon. You would think they might want to encourage people to come from other neighborhoods.

WORST SALON, EVER. I would give this place zero stars if I could. I asked Dalia for a lighter base & full head of highlights. Instead of the light brown base we agreed on, my hair came out black. When she added highlights to my hair, they came out brassy and yellow. The contrast between the base and the highlights were hideous, so I asked her to put a gloss to blend them out. After washing my hair again, my hair was dark brown. I’m still trying to process the fact that the results were the complete opposite of what I had asked for.
My mother had also gone to this salon with me. She asked Dalia to dye her hair a medium brown, and ended up with black hair. Dalia insisted on putting a gloss, which hardly helped her hair. In fact, my mom has been experiencing a great amount of hair breakage.
Do yourself a favor and don’t come to this salon. They are anything but professionals.

The more I look at my hair the more upset I get over the results of my keratin blow out today. Disappointment is an understatement. The reason for my disappointment is due to the gross finish I ended up with. As the warm season comes close I will occasionally get a keratin treatment on my hair to keep the frizzy hair tamed. So I decided to get a keratin treatment which I have had done on several occasions with great results. Today I went to R & L, which I have been to previously with good results, today a different stylist did my hair and the results where horrible. This time was different, my hair looked greasy and unfinished. It appeared as if I had a bad case of dandruff. This was due to the product placed on the hair. I actually had product buildup on my hair and forehead. As I mentioned, I have had this service done many times, and never have had this outcome. I came out of the salon looking so unkempt and the worst part, my hair looked filthy. If you are interested in getting this treatment done I would make sure you can see previous work from the stylist you choose. Although, one cannot judge all the stylist in this salon based on one stylist. I will not return to this hair salon to get any service done. I am just grateful I can wash my hair to remedy this problem, as with a cut or color not so easy. The stylist I had complete this service was a woman. I posted two pictures to give an idea of the finished product, as I am too embarrassed to post a full head shot of what I look like. Hair not smooth at all, ends unfinished, as a round styling brush was not used nor hair sectioned during the drying process.

Great salon and atmosphere

Got a decent haircut 2 weeks ago, this week I decided to get some highlights. I requested the same person and got who I asked for. I loved the work, that’s not the reason behind my two stars. The stylists who mostly speak Spanish (to each other) were talking trash about clients in English and in Spanish, then the lady doing my hair’s phone rang at least 5 times (not including the texts messages) and she kept answering the phone in the middle of her doing my highlights and blowout, she kept apologizing but it got annoying after the third time. Then, stupid me. Told the stylist I had a coupon for $ 85 highlights, she immediately went for being conversive to annoyed in a second. So she’s done with my hair and tells me to wait by the chair, uh no thanks, I want to leave. So I go to the front desk to where she is whispering in the receptionists ear which most likely was about me, bc when she saw me she looked up with shock. I paid for my color and blow out and left her with a nice tip. Which now I’m thinking I shouldn’t even have.

The salon was nice, the staff was friendly and the products were good but I had one of the worst hair cuts of my life. My entire life I’ve had really healthy hair, and I had never seen a split end in it. Ever since that hair cut I’ve been getting split ends up to my ears on over half the hair on my head :(My hair is destroyed. They probably used bad scissors. I’ll never forget this.
To top it all off, they kept pressuring me to dye my hair or get layers. Like no. Just because you want your customers to have super fried ugly hair, doesn’t mean I want that too. Moral of the story: they will do everything they can to destroy your hair so you keep going back.

I realy was impressed with the courtesy of the staff… made me feel very comfortable as if they have been doing my hair for years… their expertise was amazing… I went in looking like a hot mess, they totally transformed me… color, highlight, cut and blow out, great job guys … leo worked his magic with my color and janette cut and blew out my hair amazingly, this coming from some one who has real curly hair and feared cutting it cause of past nightmares. give stars for a great job from a totally satisfied client!

Currently waiting over 25 minutes for my appointment for which I was early (7 minutes early to be exact).
I have only been acknowledged once by the woman who wet my hair. The woman with whom my appointment is has not even apologized for running behind or looked at me. This review starts with one star. I will finalize the review after my trim and blow-​out.
Ok. I have to say that while the start I my experience with R&L was bad, it didn’t stay that way.
Once I was in my chair with the attention of the stylist (Melissa) — things began to look up. She was happy despite having been busy all day. When I explained that I wanted to keep my length, but reshape my hair– she got it. Then my blow out stayed perfect for 2 days.
The real test though (for my very curly hair) is how the shape sits after the first wash.
So because of the frenzied nature which my appointment had started with, I’m going to go with three stars. But I’ll try them out again and see if anything changes. A solid 3 star experience.

I’ve wanted to come here for a long time finally I went in. I told the lady who was assigned to do my highlights, I dont want white or red highlights, I want my highlights golden blond. my hair was already brown with honey highlights. Overall I toldt her I wanted my hair lighter than what I had. Well, the final process was not what i expected, my hair looked just like i did it myself. I was still brown with redish highlights. Not what I wanted it! This place it’s overated. It’s not worth the money. Don’t waste your money, it’s a scam, the coupons do not include the whole process, you will get charge for color, highlights, wash & blowdrying, haircut plus you end-​up paying tips to 4 people. The job they do is mediocre.
