Second time here, and enamored with the sushi and sashimi. On a Tuesday evening, the place was about half full(despite the public concert across the street), and the service was a bit curt. But the sashimi was delicious, and the price was very fair. My sashimi combo came with two different types of tuna toro … one better than the next, and the salmon sushi was just so soft and flavorful. Despite what could have been a more charming service experience, we give Shiki four stars for the overall quality and reasonable cost.

Best sushi in Westchester. Fish is fresh and rice texture is excellent. Daily sushi entrée gives you a selection of 10 pieces of nigiri, 1 roll and a soup or salad. Great value. The sushi here is better than some of the mainstays in Hartsdale.

Yakitori was ok and the vegetable was ok. My katsudon meal however was a very dry over cooked dish. I only took a few bites had enough. Really disappointed i didnt order anything else.

Amazing! The freshest sushi I’ve had. The curry chicken meatballs and wasabi shumai were amazing. We had the chef make whatever he wanted and everything was phenomenal

This sushi bar was absolutely awful. I have never eaten sushi that was made so slow and so poorly. I have had sushi from stop and shop that was made 10x better. There were only 2 other couples in their 10 table establishment, they rushed to take our orders and we did not receive our sushi for about an hour later. They not only, did they served us one at a time they served the wrong order. I took a bit not realizing this was not my order and the waitress took my plate back all while YELLINGATME and then served that EXACT plate to ANOTHER couple. That is absolutely repulsive and disgusting. This sushi bar needs to really rethink it’s business plan because this is one very angry customer. THEYWILLRECEIVENOSTARSBECAUSEINNOWAYWILL I EVERGOBACK.

I was in the area and searched on Unilocal,of course, to find this little hidden gem to satisfy my craving for sushi and yakitori. A lot of reviewers like the sushi here and recommended it so I’m curious to try. Got the tuna trio, which included a spicy tuna roll, tuna sashimi, and tuna on rice. It was good, tasted fresh and very soft. Also ordered 2 uni(sea urchins), shishito pepper yakitori, and quail egg wrapped in bacon yakitor, both were tasty as well.

Not quite sure what why this place gets such high ratings. Came here a few weeks ago… Tried skewers, sushi, ramen, etc. not all that impressive… I do give it to them that they position themselves as a yakitori place and not another sushi restaurant…

place is really really good fresh sushi! i’ve tried all the places in westchester and this one of the best if not THE best! The OMAKASE(chef tasting menu) is excellent. from the outside I had no idea it would be that good. the outside looks so plain and boring, like a hole in the wall kind of place

I cannot stress enough how fabulous Shiki is. I’m literally obsessed. The best sushi, best service. People are learning how special Shiki is and it’s been getting busier but I’m glad because they deserve the customers! I order for delivery here as well as come in at least twice a week sometimes more and they never fail to amaze me. Whenever I’m there with my boyfriend and we take our first bite of sushi or chef special appetizers we look at each other with the«this is incredible» eyes. Best sushi in White Plains by far. You definitely should come here!

A very nice meal! Excellent chirashi at sushi bar with otoro and chutoro! Real authentic Japanese sushi and yakitori. No fusion! Edomae sushi!

My better half chose Shiki based on the high Unilocal reviews. Open about a year, it was empty on a Wednesday night around 5pm, so we sat at the sushi bar. They mentioned being very busy at lunch every day, but slow at dinner, I have no idea why that would be. The restaurant was attractively decorated and spotless, as was the restroom. The sashimi was fantastic, the fish at this place is unbelievably fresh. The chicken meatball Yakitori skewers were off the chain, but the regular chicken and steak skewers were only good. The avocado and side salads were fresh, large, crisp and delicious. Rolls aren’t really my thing, but the better half enjoyed them. The prices were very reasonable, considering the quality and portion sizes. Sushi chef Danny expertly prepared some beautifully presented plates, which tasted as awesome as they looked. The waitress was polite and quick to refill glasses, as well as clear empty plates, which I appreciate. My one gripe with the waitress was the failure to bring or offer water immediately upon being seated, but it’s not enough to remove a star that was well earned in every other respect. In all honesty, if I have to nitpick about water, that’s a very good sign. We will definitely be back, I can’t wait to try the ramen so many of you have suggested.

Really good food, and average service. if you can ignore that you’re fine. Quality wise it’s better than a lot of NYC places, so fresh and well prepared. The portions are also quite good except for the skewers. I’m taking off 1 star for the service.

Among the sushi restaurants in White Plains, this can be my newly favorite. Prices are affordable, and even cheaper if you come in groups. They also have delivery. I already bookmarked this place in Grubhub. When it comes to cheap Asian food, there are only 2 choices: Shiki or David King.

Very good. Fresh fish and toro! Sushi chef and owner very friendly and seemed genuinely interested in the fish they served. The Omakase was $ 55 for 7 courses. Will be back!

Welcome addition to white plains! Came here with friends and we were treated with excellent service, great quality food and fresh sushi. Prices were very reasonable as well, they even threw in free apps and soup for us. Even went as far as pouring our drinks for refills, without feeling feeling overbearing. Highly recommend this place for good japanese food, only thing Id like to see is less light, seems little too bright in dining area for dinner, would help with atmosphere.

I ate here 2 months ago and had a good experience so since I’m back in town thought I would go back. White Plains is over saturated with mediocre at best, restaurants and this trip proved to add them to the list. The space is nice, railroad style and bright. The staff are very friendly accommodating, and friendly. That’s not the issue, the food we had was. I ordered a Dancing Salmon roll which is supposed to have spicy, crunch Salmon on the inside. It had plain raw salmon inside and also on top. The textural contrast was sorely missed and the reason I ordered the roll in the first place, strike one. My Yellowtail Jalepeno roll came with massive strips of Jalapeño inside, 4 to be exact. Talk about ratio blunders, such a rookie move, that was strike two. Last night I went and ordered the stir-fried soba with shrimp and enjoyed the dish until I ate the shrimp. They were obviously already cooked, frozen shrimp. Guys, when you take already cooked shrimp and cook them more they toughen and don’t make for a good meal, strike three. My last gripe is the staff hovers while you eat, so annoying. With all the competition in the area you would would think these restaurants would stay on their game all the time. Reasons like this are why there is so much business turnaround in White Plains. I won’t be back…
