I can deal with the mediocre food. What I can’t deal with is a staff that is completely oblivious to what is going on in their restaurant especially the«manager». We were there with 6 adults and 5 kids, definitely spent more money then anyone in there. The staff stood there and watched another customer curse and berate us because our kids were too loud for her liking. When you walk in there they give you the impression they are a family friendly restaurant, obviously the other patrons don’t feel that way. The fact that nobody said one word to us from the staff that there was an issue surprises me. Then they just stood there and watched as this other person just went off, completely unacceptable. When I asked for the manger and then asked him if he new what had happened, he simply answer«No». If you have kids, AVOIDTHISPLACE! It’s a poor excuse for a Mexican restaurant. If it was a few miles down the road in either direction in Downers or Hinsdale it would be out of business!

Solid Mexican cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. The burrito bowl is perfect with a cold Pacifico.

Pretty good reminds me of pepe’s. Not really authentic Mexican food, there are better places in the area, but it wasn’t bad. The drinks and chips and salsa were the best parts

Average at best. Service was fine. The food has the flavor and quality of a open till 5 am carry-out taco stand, dry steak, flavorless filler. Unfortunately for more money. Don’t eat here sober.

We went here after Uncle Julio’s took to long to seat us. Las Palmas has great service. We were seated immediately and our waitress was very sweet. The food was very good too :)

Used to enjoy coming here – not anymore. I found four bones in my chicken burrito. My husband had a stomach ache all night after eating here. There was a fly buzzing around our table as we ate. My food was cold, as was my husband’s. It took half an hour for us to get our food, and we were the only ones in the restaurant. We won’t be back.

5 years ago I would have rated Las Palmas a solid 4 or 5. It has dropped in quality and service significantly since then. My wife and I usually have an early dinner, around 5pm. We suspect that they now serve us what’s left of the afternoon buffet. Food comes out quick, but lukewarm. Does not seem fresh. Servers are much less attentive, too. Unfortunate, as we used to eat here at least twice a month.

I live right down the street so I’ve been here too many times to mention. The food is downright bland for a Mexican restaurant. It’s also carelessly prepared. For example, I ordered chicken and steak fajitas and the chicken wasn’t sliced! It was brought to the table as full chicken breasts! Also, the service is horrible. My wife likes the vegetarian burrito bowl(she dislikes ALL of the meat dishes) so I have suffered through too many dinners there. The last time I was there, the chili relleno was so soggy I refused to eat it. After fifteen minutes(!), I finally saw my waiter. My wife said she saw him playing the video slot machine when she went to the bathroom. I wish I could make that up. I told the waiter I didn’t want the soggy mess in front of me and he argued with me! I asked to speak to a manager. The waiter never got the manager. I won’t go back. Go to Taco Grill instead. It’s much better.

The office ordered food from here and they did a pretty good job of accommodating a large order. But, that’s where it stops. The food was decent, but nothing good. I had a chicken taco plate dinner. The chicken had good flavor, but the tacos in general were inedible. The soft tortillas(or were they supposed to be crispy?) were soggy and tasteless. I ended up just eating the taco fillings from within the tacos. The beans were meh and the rice was meh as well. To make things worse, the first bite of the taco had a large bone in it. It put a real damper on the rest of my meal. It was a free lunch, but in the future I would rather just eat my home-made lunch.

Customer Service is horrible! It almost feels as you are annoying them, as if you are been an inconvenience to them all. Disliked it!!!

I ordered the chicken enchiladas suizas, pretty good. My boyfriend ordered the tilapia fish tacos and he said he would go back for those. The margaritas are really good here! Kinda pricey, we only really go here if we have the coupon that comes in the clipper catalogue.

«ehhhh» comes to mind after eating here. Good food, but just average. Very routine frequently seen limited menu. Chips were good, salsa too spicy for me and the mild one they brought was simply a tomato sauce. Not impressed. Guacamole very good. Fajitas just okay although they do offer a fajitas trio which is nice, but all places should. Good margaritas.

My wife had a combination plate which included a chicken taco. As she was eating it she almost swallowed a1″ chicken rib bone with a sharp point on it, After pointing out the problem to our waiter he stated there is a disclaimer on the menu about the possibility of finding bones in the fish and in the chicken. Bones are expected in fish but chicken!!! What kind of place puts such a disclaimer on their menu. Chicken bones like that are downright dangerous. To top it off my steak burrito had so much sour cream in it you could barely find the meat just horrible.

Good mexican restaurant and very good margaritas. Service as pretty good and decent parking too. Not a bad go-to place for the west suburbs.

When I first discovered Las Palmas a couple years ago I thought it was some great secret spot that nobody’d ever heard of. Turns out, everyone knows about it and has pretty much been here. We come for the afternoon buffet spread on weekends because their menu makes it too hard to decide on just one thing. Teeming with delicious things like chicken tacos, burritos, ribs, enchiladas and the like, you’ll definitely be able to find something you enjoy. It’s all prepared fresh and doesn’t have that funky sat-around-all-day taste. The servers are friendly and keep your drink filled, as well as offering chips and salsa. I’ll definitely continue to patronize this establishment.(This may be my most formal review ever.)

Typically, I visit a Mexican place and wonder, «what’s a girl gotta do to get a banana enchilada around here?» I mean really. You have bananas. You have tortillas. You have mole. DOIT!!! Every other restaurant I’ve reviewed flat out refuses to make them, because why make a vegetarian customer happy? But I digress. Las Palmas has banana enchiladas on the MENU. Not only that, they are phenom. The non-banana food is great too. Husband loved his fish tacos and cheese enchilada. This place is consistently good. The staff is friendly, fast, and observant. I’m so down.

We decided to go and try their lunch buffet. They open at 11 am. We pulled in at 11:50 and we were the only car in the entire parking lot. We should have heeded the warning. We talked in and had to yelling into the bar area to find out if they were open. «Si» came from the back room, several minutes later with a man showing up. He showed us to a table and set down 2 silverware wraps. That was the last we saw of him. Several minutes past before we asked a woman walking by in an appropriate outfit, «Do we have a waitress?» «Yes» and she walked away. 10 minutes later the same woman came back and said, «What do you need?» «To take our drink order would be nice.» These early transactions pretty well sum up our service for the day. The food on the buffet was sparing/decent, but not«good». I guess this was a case of «you get what you pay for. At $ 7.95 + drinks I guess I shouldn’t have expected decent service AND good food. Or should I? As we were walking out the door I thought, «I haven’t been her since 1997. Now I remember why.» I think it will be another 16 years before I return, if then.

New, fancy menu. Same tasty Mexican/American food. It will never be «authentic Mexican» but it’s a great choice for margaritas, tostadas and other favorites. And no matter when I go– the service is always spot on! Don’t let the storefront location fool you. Las Palmas is worth the stop!

Food was plenty, place was a bit dark. I had the Taco dinner, it was tasty and fresh cilantro, onions, and lime. My husband got the steak fajitas served hot over a food warmer so cool. We also ordered fresh guacamole made at table side SOOOO good with crispy chips, entertaining too. We’ll definitely come back.
