Seafood was fresh but that’s about it… Whelk was pretty good but the garlic butter didn’t penetrate deep into the flesh and really only sat on top portion of meat exposed in the shell. Also, two of the shells were actually EMPTY and had nothing but garlic and butter inside. Shrimp was large but gotta echo some other Unilocalers on here regarding the rather empty bag. It kind of feels like they shorted us on the seafood? Also, they put the crawfish AND shrimp together in the same bag. I get that we ordered the same sauce and spice level for the shrimp and crawfish but seriously? This only further convinced us they were trying to short us on the food amount. The sweet potato fries weren’t really good(probably worst I’ve ever had) and the Cajun fries needed salt. The Cajun seasoning just tasted powdery to me? I wouldn’t come here again and I can see why the owner is trying to sell the place. Also, the discount they’re providing is sufficient to make the price comparable to other seafood joints, not a true discount LOL…

review based on appearance, service, and food quality. Appearance: The location is great, it is right next to snow monster for those who would love desert after their meal. Walking in there is a falling water wall which is very beautiful and the seating booths are much nicer and more private than others. The bathrooms are very clean and so is the restaurant itself. Service: Every time my friends and I go we get the same two servers. They are both great and ensure our food come out fast and very fresh. They are also very patient with our indecisiveness. Service is amazing. Food Quality: Their recipe is pretty generic. That doesn’t mean it is not good though. the flavor profile is amazing on the tongue and is definitely on par with boiling crab and wild crab. The price is amazing as well as they have holiday specials which is unique as no other craw fish joints provide that. Their«King Sauce» which is all sauces combine is fantastic and the sides in which you can add into your meal are amazing(ie quail eggs). The seafood is well prepared and properly cooked. A true craw fish lover will know when they first crack open their craw fish! The fries are also amazing, and the wing i personally do not like as they are not dry wings. I believe this place will be booming with business soon enough as it only just opened. I definitely would come again and again and rather be seated fast and have my holiday specials price over waiting at other locations!

I absolutely enjoy crawfish, especially when they are extra spicy. This place is a wonderful place to head to at night if you are hungry but do not have many options. Service– The staff were very nice and kind people. They are also very funny and easy to talk to. Another thing was they were very helpful. Our server was Bao-Chinh and he was a wonderful person. He made jokes, as well as suggested popular or recommended items. Our food even came out within ten minutes of just ordering. Food– Their crawfish is a tad bit small, however they do make up for that with amazing flavour. The cajun seasoning with extra spicy sauce was just perfect. Their corn was nice and sweet. Their pan roast was okay, however I would recommend if you want pan roast you would have better luck going to Ritters. Plus, this place specializes in mainly crabs and crawfish. They also have their version of fish and chips which is pretty tasty as well. Overall– The place is very nice and clean, the service was well, and their food was delicious. This is my second time here and I would come again definitely!

First time here. ordered baked mussels, garlic noodles, calamari, king crab, snow crab, peeled shrimp, half dozen raw oysters and lobster. everything was pretty decent. the service was pretty good though we were only one of two tables in the whole restaurant at 1030pm. the only thing that irked me was that the 2lb lobster($ 40) that we ordered was the toughest lobster I’ve eaten in my life. it was like trying to bite shoe leather. we told the waiter politely that everything was great except that horrible lobster. he said he will let the chef know and brought us the bill… that was dissapointing to say there least. I would have given 5 stars if his reaction was better

So my boyfriend and I decided to try this place out since it was 50% off and we love crawfish! We ordered 3lbs crawfish, garlic fries($ 8) and Cajun & garlic fries mixed($ 4) The crawfish quantity was actually more than we expected from reading reviews and the size of the crawfish was actually pretty big. The garlic fries and garlic noodles were pretty bomb ! I like the atmosphere here the music is great they play new songs which you can enjoy while you’re eating. I feel like the sauce could of been thicker and tastier but overall my boyfriend enjoyed our food. Will come back again

So the homie Thomas N. hits me up about this place which has a 50% off all crawfish deal. Well, I don’t really eat crawfish, I’m more of a shrimp person but then I saw that it was on the hot and new list plus I hadn’t been here before so… Unilocal life it is. There’s no wait for this place. I think we came through on a Friday night? and immediately were seated. The place is huge but has limited tables mainly because of the bar area that takes up a good amount of space. I ordered a pound of shrimp, some cajun fries and a side of quail eggs only because I rarely see an option for that. My order of shrimp was pretty good. Their sauce was delicious but definitely a bit too salty. Still it wasn’t as salty has Submarine Crab so it wasn’t that bad actually. The cajun fries were seasoned quite well but the fries themselves were just ok. The quail eggs were good as always. My friends seemed to enjoy their crawfish, the baby octopus and the garlic noodles that they ordered. One even complimented that it was the best garlic noodles he’s ever had period and he is extremely tough as a critic so I believe him. The crawfish are 5 bucks per pound with the discount and 7 bucks for the live ones. We really didn’t notice a different in taste so its really up to which you prefer. PS they get high marks for their awesome mix cds they be playing… I mean where else can I hear that Drake«Back 2 Back» joint LOL!

1st here with group of 8 and a boy 1 year old. We ordered our foods but no kids’ foods in Menu. My friend had to go and get food outside for his son. The lady came out and told us due to business policy no outside foods. I told her this is for kid. She said sorry It is business policy. My opinion, if this lady is part of owner. This place will change management in next 6 months. If she is a waitress she has to change her career for her bright future.

I will go easy on the stars since they just opened. Taste wise, this place is not bad. I really don’t think people should rave that it’s «$ 50% off» because it really isn’t. ½ the MR is $ 7. So you’re saying the normal price for crawfish would be $ 14? Usually regular prices at other places are $ 7-$ 10. So is that really a deal? Ordered 2lbs of crawfish and 1lb of clam. When it came out, it did not even look like 3lbs total. I had no problem with the crawfish, BUTTHECLAMS??? I came across only ten clams. YES, ten. That’s not even close to 1lb. It’s $ 10/lb, so I basically paid $ 1 for one clam. Like, what a joke lol. Way to rip off your customers. Besides that, the fries and garlic noodles were pretty good. I might come back after a few months. I just hope by then they give customers the actual amount of food they’re paying for.

I like the King sauce seasoning that they have but it will taste better if they make the sauce more thicker because it’s a little bit watery. Tried the peeled shrimp and it was very satisfied. Really nice service and environment. Will come back again soon!

I came with my boyfriend to take advantage of the 50% off crawfish. Live crawfish was $ 7(after the discount) and frozen crawfish was $ 5(after the discount) which isn’t that bad! We got the 3lbs of live crawfish and 1lb of clams with King Sauce. We also got a side half a dozen of raw oyster and Cajun fries. The oysters were really big and juicy which is love! The fries were seasoned to perfection with a good crunch to it. The crawfish were really big compared to most crawfish places around here which I really loved. The service was spectacular. They would constantly come check on us to see if we were doing okay. They would also refill our drinks before they get empty. **Their fountain drinks get free refills** I only wished they would include more sauce in their bag rather than the amount that was given.

I recommend going in a large group so you can try and share everything. I did and there was not one thing I wouldn’t order again. The king sauce was tasty, not salty as others have mentioned. Shrimp, crawfish, crab, oysters, fries — all very good. I like coconut snails and they do it well here. We shared that but I should have gotten one order to myself. Also, first time, I had whelk and I liked it! Very impressed with the service. I wouldn’t mention it if it was just alright, but they were very friendly and checked on us repeatedly. The lychee soju is so good and so dangerous. I drank that like juice. Overall, had a great time, will definitely come back with friends. It’s a good thing the place is big.

I came here in their grand opening, which led me coming back the following week. We started off with the appetizers, fried calimari, garlic and sweet potato fries, chicken wings, and coconut snails. All were very good and texture for each dish was on point. The calimari and coconut snails are a must have. We also ordered the Crawfish and shrimp in king crab sauce. I really enjoyed the shrimp! Juicy and very big. Drinks selection I must say was very creative. The flavored soju is very refreshing. We tried mango and strawberry, and with real fruit I have to admit it was very good. Will keep coming, kid-friendly, great staff, quality food, and top knotch service.

Oh my… Why such negative comments here? I came here with my friends last night when the restaurant was crowded people. Although there were many customers at that time, but they did a really good services for us. The waiters who served us were kinda inexperience but they managed everything very well. The waiters were very nice to us. Good food, good service, fair price, what more could i ask for? This restaurant will now be one of my list to go out at night then. I will definitely come here again!

I don’t know why someone just give this place one star. I really love this restaurant and the food is so yummy too. Plus, 50% off FRESHCRAWFISH is a good deal. Although the price of crawfish here is a little higher than the other places in town, the crawfish is very huge. I came to many crawfish restaurant like kickin crab or boiling crab, their crawfish is too small. I can not eat anything. And I came here with my family last night. The server welcome us with a friendly smile and took us to our table. They alway come to my table to make sure everything is ok every 10 minutes and refill on my water frequently. I would like to come back here again soon. Tips: try their signature king’s sauce, fish basket, and specially draft beer is the best in town right now. No other crawfish places have the best beer like them.

I went here on their grand opening. We had a group of 10 people. The service was good and the waiter was very prompt. What I like about The King Crab is that their menu is not like your typical crawfish joint. 1. The Coconut Snail appetizer is very delicious and the coconut sauce is extremely addicting!!! 2. Oysters were fresh and the size was perfect. Not too big, not too small. 3. The Whelk is a must try! As an appetizer(Garlic Whelk) and seafood by the pound! Make sure you get it with the garlic sauce when ordering seafood by the pound. Ever since I went, I’ve been craving the whelk! 4. I’m not a big crawfish guy, so I had the shrimp with the king sauce. Shrimp was pretty fresh. I really like their sauce as well. It’s definitely different. It’s not too heavy and it definitely doesn’t make me sick compared to other crawfish places. 5. Beer selection is pretty damn good as well. We had a pitcher of the Pranqster Belgian Ale. Overall, our group had a good experience. Would definitely come back.

I came here because the wait for Boiling Crab was too long, and they were advertising 50% off crawfish so why not. First time here… and it will definitely be my last lol 50% off crawfish, Original Price $ 16.99LOLLLLL??? Party of 8 — Our server took his tongs and took out the lime, lime by lime. He gave us 6 pieces of sliced limes total. LOL. I asked for ketchup mayo, and my server gave me just mayonnaise. He told me to mix it by myself. I’m paying .50 to mix ketchup and mayo on my own. LMAOWTF! Ordered 1lb of shrimp &1lb of crawfish — both didn’t even look 1lb, not even close to ½lb, garlic was raw and bitter, and there wasn’t much sauce in the bag either Seafood basket — a basket that looked like someone already ate most of the fries and bunch of random fish and conch balls… like dude I came here to eat real seafood not frozen shi* that I can fry at home for $ 10 Servers were talking mad crap behind a glass window and kept pointing their fingers at us. You should let me eat and pay for my food before you talk crap because now you won’t get any tip. A bust just like Sweet Tea Loungeeeee

I came here last week and thought it was good so I came back again today. Why not come back since there’s no wait. Anyhow, my second experience was HORRIBLE!!! 1st off, the sign outside said 50% off crawfish… R u kidding me? Their CF is $ 16/lb went up $ 2 within one week. I have never seen that price anywhere and I’ve tried almost all CF places you can name in OC as well as other states. Btw… Heard it was $ 12/lb when they first opened 2 – 3 weeks ago. 2nd– It’s crawfish season and they run out of fresh crawfish 5⁄7 days a week. 3rd– I ordered a sweet potato fries and my order was pretty much half empty. Urghhh what’s up with that??? Lastly, the CF came out not HOT at all!!! This will be the last time!!! NEVERAGAIN!!!

First to review! I came here with some expectations, especially for a new business but tonight things just weren’t up to par. Service was slow, awkward, and just seemed like the servers didn’t have much serving experience in general. We never got bibs, waters took forever to refill and rushed to take our orders. At least be friendly and smile! Again, I figure because it’s a new business. The food… Those who know me know I’ve been to EVERY crawfish place in OC and some multiple or many many many times. The sauce here is different. not bad, just not what I’m used to. The cajun seasoning isn’t all there and the extra spicy was not spicy at all. We ordered some crawfish(which BTW are NOT fresh and is frozen. server says«season is over») mussels, shrimp and crab legs(tiny. even the chinese buffet has bigger ones). The wings were ok, nothing special, you get a choice between buffalo sauce or their seafood sauce. I was hoping for crispy cajun wings. The garlic fries were a disappointment, literally just fries with some raw garlic thrown on top. On a brighter note. The oysters are fresh and quite a steal! $ 15 for a full dozen, now that’s a deal! Crawfish craving not satisfied. I might come back in the future, if this joint does become the new talk of the town. There is plenty of room for improvement here!
