This one star is for an unprofessional person that works at mnt Zion barber shop. Her name is linda, she works at the Springdale location. My son is not happy! Me and my son have been coming to mnt Zion barber shop since it first opened its doors. We drive 5 miles out of our way passing many barber shops. Linda does not communicate well. I ask her not to cut my sons hair so high up. She did anyway, then tried to make excuses why and proceeded to argue with me, then told me not to come back that she wouldn’t cut our hair anymore. I would not recommend her to anyone.

Scott did a nice fade, and hardline for a good price of $ 10! It can’t be beat anywhere else I have been, and the wait isn’t that long maybe around 10−15mins for him. I’m sure the others did well too, but I recommend going to him. Will be coming back for my next cut!

This is the spot. Been coming here for 8 years. Barbers are great. Whatever cut you want… Clean inside and out. Gets really busy on Fridays and Saturdays. The price is unbelievable $ 8 for s regular fade and trim. Good vibe inside!!!

I got my haircut by Brandon and he gave me the best haircut I have had in about a year. I’ve been going to expensive barbershops to cheap ones and I’ve only had bad haircuts and this is the first haircut I’ve had that I’ve loved. Thank you to Brandon and Mt. Zion Barbershop for ending my streak of terrible haircuts! I think I found my new barbershop.

I got a cut here after trying to get a lady at a more nearby place to give me a pixie cut with long bangs in the front that wouldn’t listen to me and left the back too long. This was my first time at Mt Zion and I had read the reviews about the awful Asian ladies, but I still allowed the Asian girl to trim the back shorter. It seemed great until I got home and my mom pointed out how uneven the back was. I’ll be going back tomorrow to ask for someone, besides the Asian girls, to fix it!

I really wanted to to like this place after reading all the reviews. However, when I and my son arrived here we were asked to get haircut with two ladies on the last two chairs. I am 50 and have received haircuts all over the country. Sadly, this was the worst haircut I have ever received. One thing a good hairstylist does is listens to their clients. My lady barber just went with what she felt right. When I interrupted her to explain she said«trust me it will be all fine» and continued. Sadly, In the end, this was the worst haircut I might have received.

I went to this barber shop three times. Never get a haircut with the guy who has a chair at the left end next to the door. The first time he did my hair, it was not good. This time, it’s worst. The sides of my bald fade cut is not balance. This is really terrible. If there is still time, I would certainly go back and let him redo this cut. Unfortunately they closed at 6pm. I have tried the Asian woman with a red hair, she’s good. Next time I should choose who should do my hair. I think that lean toned guy with a tattoos is great. I should ask him next time.

Ask for PROSPER. You won’t be disappointed. A wise man once told me «Your hair is the crown to your soul.» I can’t trust just anyone with it and I’ve found my spot.

An old fashion barber in an era of of corporate salons, this shop really brings back the mom and pop feeling of getting your haircut done. I’ve actually been fortunate enough to have years of family friends cutting my hair pretty much for free but when they all came to pass I had to find a place that would cut my hair. I had no problem going to fantastic sams over on knot and katella but over the years the cuts kept getting more and more expensive until I started realIzing I’m paying now like $ 15 for a simple buzz cut and with tip almost $ 20. The corporate world grew old really fast. My brother got a haircut from a shop down the street and paid $ 7 the haircut was mediocre but we didn’t mind because we found a place that was half the price. I went to the guy once and just didn’t like it much, just wasn’t for me and I continued going to the salon. Then my brother tells me that my grandpa has been coming to this barber shop on Springdale and it’s pretty good. Cuts are $ 7 I went and it’s not bad they do a pretty good job. So I stroll on down there and they take me in right away. No wait time whatsoever I barely had time to sit down and they were calling me over. I loved that because at the salon you’re waiting 30 mins to an hour and you’re getting a cut done that takes 10 minutes. They asked what I wanted and I get the same thing pretty much every time. I get a 3 mm buzz cut all around, no side burns, and sometimes a tapered back cut. It’s funny actually one time It had been like 4 months since I cut my hair and my hair can grow pretty fast and they’re like are you sure you really want a 3 mm it’s like super small? Haha. You can imagine my cut is super simple so my biggest concern is speed, I just want to get out of there as quick as possible and honestly you can’t really mess up a buzz cut. So in fairness to other Unilocalers I only come for a buzz not any fades or anything I normally don’t do the hipster haircuts but almost every time I come in that place is packed with a bunch of people waiting and after reading the reviews it’s kind of funny to look back on my experience I always get the Asian lady that is notorious on Unilocal and now I know why cause everyone is waiting for the dudes. I’ve only gotten a guy once and they were super slow that day. Actually 2 of them were trying to go home early. And they are right the guys are talkative and bring a lot of the good vibes in that place. However even though my haircut is simple I can tell they mess it up still, yes the infamous Asian ladies lol. A lot of people don’t realize that I have curly hair because I keep my hair so short. I have long curls and I have a coalesce in the front of my hair and if I spike my hair when it grows long the spikes grow weird I can tell. The salon I would go to sometimes they would get it right sometimes they wouldn’t. The price used to be $ 7 but since I’ve been going there it’s slowly upped to $ 9 making a really inconvenient way to tip. I could easily tip $ 3 and only bring a $ 10 but now I have to either break a $ 20 or tip $ 1. Sometimes honestly I just tip a $ 1, it’s a buzz cut that takes 10 mins how much tip do you need. I understand if you’re a girl getting your hair did paying $ 100 for a haircut for 2 hours and you drop a $ 20 but really… I don’t feel bad sometimes it’s all I have and I need my hair done. Anyway, the overall vibe there is amazing. Vibrant colors, eccentric personalities. Everyone always seems to be laughing and having a good time. The only downfall is cash only but I understand why they do it. I don’t carry cash on me so it’s a big inconvenience for me but it’s not their faults. I understand why they do it. One time I had to run all the way back home and just the other day I used the ATM at the donut shop because I had no time. Costs almost $ 4 to take out your own money, like highway robbery really. But that is an option if you’re in a bind and forgot money. One more thing about the politics of the shop that won’t effect my rating. They really seem to stick up for their beliefs. Christians and they close every Sunday and it takes a lot of balls to put up stickers and support infowars. To have an established business and be an avid supporter of that they have a lot of courage to do that. Overall amazing vibe and still a cheap cut for $ 9 right now, price might go up in future.

I been coming here for the past whole year. Today was the last day, unfortunately I got one of the beginners barbers that didn’t know how to cut curly hair. PLOP. When it was time to cut the top of my head, he asked one the Asian Lady to see if she could help him. :( She took over my head and cut it way too short. Besides how RUDE she was with her customer service and also with her own fellow co-worker.(that stinks) I’m very disappointed and upset with my experience at this barber shop today. I felt bad for the guy and pay him 10 $ 9 for the cut and 1 $ for his tip. He told me not to pay, but I pay the shop anyway.

I’ve been coming here consistently for about two years now. My main guy I try to get my hair cut from is matt. He’s cool and he pretty much gets it right every time. In fact I don’t remember a time I didn’t like my hair cut from matt. When he’s busy and I’m in a rush, or days that he’s not there, I’ll take a seat in any other barbers seat and they’ll usually do a good job as well. But if you come during a time when all the guys are busy and the only open seats are the asian ladies, God have mercy on your hair. I’ve tried to give them a chance. Three to be specific. But after today, I can’t do it anymore. I wanted so hard to give them the benefit of the doubt after reading other reviews here. But every time I get my hair cut by an asian lady here, it looks like a haircut I would get by closing my eyes and doing it myself. I’m sorry ladies, it’s I just can’t in good conscience say that you’re anywhere near decent. I don’t really care about my hair that much so that’s why it’s a 4 star review and not lower. I mean, hair grows back. I’ll jus go back to matt next time so he can fix it. So if you decide to come here, remember, male barbers = good, asian ladies = ???

I’ve been coming to this barbershop for almost 20 years Scotty Matt and Randy who run the place really know how to cut hair they have a busy barbershop but it’s a fun barbershop and they do good work and the prices are very reasonable if you’re looking for a barber and want to have a long-term relationship with your barber this is the place to go… I know what I’m talking about I come to this barbershop once a week to get my hair cut.

Hit up Mt. Zion with my roommates this morning and once again it was a great experience. It was a Saturday so we came in early around 9am because we know how busy this place gets. We walked into a packed house and were instantly greeted by the barbers. They make you feel welcome and ask you to take a seat while you wait. I always wait for one of the male barbers instead of going straight to one of the Asian ladys. I do this because the males know what’s up with old school haircuts and how people of my generation like their hair done. The Asians are clueless and will end up giving you a generic«little boy» cut. So I waited about 10 minutes for a barber and was asked to take a seat. Now I take my hair very seriously and had a few pictures of past cuts that they had given me. Instantly my barber knew my style and went over in detail exactly how he would cut it. He did just that and hooked me up with a fresh fade up to a very slick part. I was 100% satisfied with my hair as I always am. It took about 8 mins and I was out the door. I also was able to purchase a can of my favorite hair product Suavecito Pomade and walked out the door not even spending $ 20 including a generous tip. I love Mt. Zion and will not go anywhere else. These guys know what’s up and it’s a super chill environment for adults and kids to get there hair done. Keep it up! You guys are $$$$$!
