Mt Zion Barbershop

If you want a terrible haircut, I seriously recommend coming here. If you see a man with glasses, STAY AWAY. I warn you stay away, because he will most likely make your hair way too short, uneven, and possibly cut you. As of now, I’m forced to find another barbershop so they can just give me a buzzcut. I would ask them to give me a buzz, but they will probably mess that up too. My haircut really is that bad… All I wanted was a simple haircut

This is the best cut you can get for the price. The vibe is always right, super laid back with awesome music playing. I have been going there for the last 5 years and they have never let me down. You get so much more than a haircut! They have really quality shirts and hats and recently they added a pomade line that is excellent. Give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed.

My husband and son have been coming here since we moved to Orange County 4 years ago. We love Randall! My husband is really picky about his hair cuts and Randall is always on point!

Unless you want the back of your child’s head to look like this. Only let the guys in the first two chairs cut your hair.. Never anyone else.. They did try to make it right and refunded hair cut money, but this is the second bad hair cut my son has had at a Mt zion barbershop.. They used to do a great job at their other location, but it’s gone downhill in my opinion. Pretty upset and won’t be back!

been taking my son to this place there very friendly not once have they ever been rude great cuts as well…

I been cutting my hair here since they opened, and who knows how many years at the original location, today they locked the door in my face 42 minutes before they close, I guess they don’t need my money. They just lost a loyal customer today.

I really like Mt Zion. Freddy is my goto barber there. 2^nd chair next to manager/​owner. Always has ESPN on. We talk ball and he does a great job on my hair. Always get compliments on my hair after a sit down with Freddy.

First of all I’m not reviewing the Barber named Freddy who gave me a completely awesome haircut. But this «barbershop» isn’t a barbershop at all. I should have paid the extra $ 12 and went to hawleywood’s. Anyway i did like that they had ESPN on the TV but I feel like should have been music playing. There is a sign on the wall that says «please no „foul language“ in the barbershop» are you f*cking kidding me? If a man can’t go into a barbershop and be himself why do you call it a barbershop? I think most people have enough sense to know when to watch what they say… Perhaps it’s because there is a female working in the place. I don’t know… Finally, if you are looking for a TRUE barbershop DO NOT go to Mt ZION BARBERSHOP! it’s more of a hair studio trying to be a barbershop that fell far short. however; the price is right and I did get one of the best haircuts I’ve ever got. May or may not go back to get my hairs cut by Freddy.

they’re okay sometimes they don’t really listen to what you want they cut it as they see fit. I usually go with the dude on the far right I know their price went up

My husband and son go here every week always come home with great cuts and it’s a safe and kid friendly environment. My husband has been going here for a few years now and everyone is great!

I had been here once before and they did a great job, but this last time i went, monday morning, the barber did a poor job. The fade was good; however the top cut was terrible. He just snipped it then he asked if the height was good. I said yes. And he left it like that with alot of uneven areas ontop looking like a crew cut. Then he cashed me out. I thought to myself, «this guy took me for a fool» and left. I thought these guys were professional, but i guess its only when they feel like it. I know not all of the barbers there are like that, but this guy convinced me to go get my cut somewhere else.

Probably the worst barbers I’ve had the privilege of encountering. But it’s super cheap (in all aspects) and luckily, hair grows back.
I could go to other barbers, but my girlfriend prefers me to repel gorgeous women. Mission accomplished at this hack shack.

Had a bad experience at this establishment while visiting friends last week. Employee’s behavior towards others was unacceptable. I believe the name was Julian. That language should never be used in front of children and should never be used towards a customer. I would never go there again if I lived there.

Went in to get a haircut only to witness two barbers arguing with a customer. Thought this was «customer is always right» especially about their own hair. Not going there again!

Just got a cut from Julian. Worst cut I’ve ever had. Instead of apologizing… he chuckled under his breath. I wish I never walked throug the door. I will never come back here again. Ruined my Christmas Vacation.

I’ve been coming to this barbershop for almost 20 years I come here at least once a week to get my haircut and this is a great clean professional barber shop these guys know what they’re doing and they charge a fair price. Scotty Matt and Randy run this barbershop and really know how to cut hair in that they are gifted and making ugly people looking better… lol

Someone’s hair spent the first 5 min blowing air with one hand (as if to distract) and texting with the other. Then there was some big dude sitting waiting talking to this guy who was texting. They were swearing quite a bit. F&$& this, that S%#* was crazy at that club. The girls at this club are way more crazy than that club. Then the big guy left and came back with some pork rines and what looked like a tall boy of Modelo wrapped in a paper bag. Not sure if it was but he was doing a good job of keeping it covered at the rim so no one could see the can. Srsly?! Sad because I met some cool guys from here selling T-​shirts at a Christian concert at the beach in Bolsa Chica.

Mt. Zion is the real deal. I have been getting my cut here for years now. All the barbers have there own unique style but I prefer Randall. He takes his time & knows his shit! Mt. Zion makes you feel like family and they also provide a positive image to the community.
The new shop is minutes from the original shop. It’s right off the 22 FWY, next to the Harley Davidson spot. The shop is spacious, clean, comfortable seating, and a huge screen TV so you can watch the game.
Highly recommend this barber shop!

I have been coming to this shop since it opened in 2014, and I love the shop, yes some days its very busy and wait time might be an hour or less but hey that’s what you should expect wherever you go on the weekend. The wait is worth it due to getting a great cut, I can’t speak for all the barbers there, but Randall always has my hair on point. I love the atmosphere of the shop and I even took my 1-​year old son there for his first haircut and Randall took the time to cut his hair the way I wanted. Just come by and try it out.
