Lulu’s Candy Jar

Me and my wife went out for our anniversary and we were walking crocker park and came across lulus, we walked in and at first thought it was closed… nobody came out no greeting nothing. Until I yelled «hello?» Then a gentleman emerged from the back… didn’t even say hi. He was actually on his phone the whole time we were in the store (wearing headphones with a mic) and I asked him about if they had jelly beans and his response was yes on the other side of the store… Well anyways my wife just bought some overpriced rock candy and we left. The guy was on his phone even while checking us out… And not very nice either… and their selection is dismal to say the least. I’ve seen convenience stores have more of a selection of candy and cheaper too… I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE TO ANYONE!

It’s not really an EEK, but a yawn. This place was empty, sad and boring lol. Not really much of a variety of things to choose from. What kind of candy jar is this place? I want to feel like I’m at a candy store, I want to do the «oohs» and «aahs» **ahem, rocket fizz**. This was one depressing store.

My husband and I live in Westlake and frequent Crocker Park but we noticed there’s almost never any customers in this store so we stopped in one day out of curiousity. The guy working did not aknowledge us at all when we came in. In fact he was very clearly making an effort to avoid looking at us at all and was literally looking at the floor every time I glanced at him. I figured he was having a bad day or something and continued looking around until not a minute later another customer entered the store and was immediately greeted! My husband and I are an interracial couple that look younger than we are. The other customer was an older white woman. I am not one to call others racist as I believe that it’s not warranted in many situations (often times people’s *actions* can be racist but not the person themselves) but this was too blatant to ignore. Now I know why this store is always empty. I should’ve read the reviews here first.
Sadly, I can’t say much for the stores inventory because I left pretty quickly but what I did see at the front of the store and on the table near the door wasn’t anything you can’t find in any grocery store with a big candy selection, as other reviewers have mentioned.

waste of my money. they stood around gabbing. not helpful. go get 4x the candy at the drug store.

Are you serious right now? That’s all i can say. Absolutely no selection and way over priced! All the candy was stale and rock hard. I think i got like 7 raisinets for $ 3.48… not okay. Go somewhere else not here you’re gonna leave with no candy for a ton of money.

Anyone can buy candy in bulk and set it out in the boxes to sell. This place is a joke. The dude wasn’t too excited to ring me out either.
