Best bento boxes in the area. I always order from here when I am in the mood for some sushi.

Ordered take out which took over and hour which would have been more tolerable if the food was okay, which it wasn’t. The food was freezing cold and the fish had skin and fat all over it.

Ordered online before 7pm and the delivery estimate said 40 – 45 minutes. Then a few minutes later the confirmation email estimated between 8pm-815pm. The place is located 12 minutes from my house. The food did not arrive until 830pm. And the food smelt so bad. I understand that fish sometimes has a fishy smell but this just smelled rotten. The smell was so bad I could barely chew it. I ended up throwing out about 75% of it. Such a waste of $ 50 and time. Never ordering from there again.

They have been around for years, so they must be doing something right in addition to offering half off weekdays and being byo. Sadly, after 2 bad experiences, we stopped going there – the sushi simply lacked taste. Perhaps our visits were unrepresentative.

Average food. Average prices. Terrible service. Hours later no food. Everyone goes to bed hungry. Forget this place.

Ordered off of GrubHub and they messed up my order. Instead of spicy tuna, spicy crunchy salmon, and chicken tempura rolls, I got tuna, salmon avocado, and the most revoltingly fishy roll I’ve ever had. I have no idea what that was. The fish did not taste fresh, and when I went to pick up my order, not a single table had patrons. I’m not surprised. This place used to have fantastic sushi, and now it’s the worst in town. I better not get food poisoning from this meal. I’d be shocked if it was still open a year from now. Fujiyama Mama across the street is SOMUCHBETTER.

I’ve been a customer for the last 3 years. Recently however I’ve noticed they never have customers. A friend suggested going there recently but cautioned me the food may not be fresh given their business has down turned. I suggested we go and what a mistake ! There was a foul fish smell to the whole place and sure enough the food was not good at all. I’ve never had bad sushi before going here most recently. I always eat tuna avocado and ell avocado rolls every time I have sushi. The eel tool was so bad I couldn’t finish even 1 piece. The tuna roll was fine though. I did have some serious stomach pains after eating only part of the 1 piece of eel though. My friend ordered chicken teriyaki which tasted bad and was meeley and he consistency of a banana or a bad peach. Stay away !

I’ve only ever ordered delivery from this place, so I cannot speak to how the service is. However, the food itself is always great, nice and tasty and not skimpy on the rolls ever. The hand rolls are tightly rolled not squishy like some places are. My only complaint, which is barely a complaint is that the soup portions are a little small. That really isn’t a huge issue for me though because I can enjoy more of my other food without getting full on soup

The food was alright. The sushi was fresh but there just didn’t seem to be anything… exciting about it? granted we got one of the combination plates for two, there just wasn’t anything that stood out about this restaurant.

Needless to say the Hibachi experience was phenomenal, however they get 1 stars because when i went back for my sushi experience. The host only gave me and my lady one menu. While we sat on opposite sides of the table i have no idea how we were suppose to look at it together. Service was poor as we only saw the waiter * for our order and check* Coming from Restaurants, i udnerstand that at times of rush hour in a place service may be backed up and its completely understandble. The thing that sealed the deal was when i ate half a roll of the sushi i ordered. I started feeling queezy, so i tried to wash it down with some beer. Next thing you know i was rushing my wife to get the check, i made it outside and around the corner before i puked my guts out in a garbage can. Rather pay the few extra dollars at new Akai Lounge located in downtown westfield

My wife and I occasionally come in from time to time. Usually the food and the service is pretty standard. Never had a problem until last evening 1÷5÷15. Approximately 9PM last night we were greeted at the service counter asked how many and sit wherever we would like? I noticed the sign on the door said they were open till 10 during the week so we were good. Noticed the sushi chef and a young waitress and who appeared as the manager behind the service counter. As we sat down it took more than 5 minutes for the young girl to even hand us menus. Not to mention no napkin or silverware. When I finally made eye contact for the 5th time with her then gave us the menues and silverware. She proceeded to ask what we would like to drink my wife asked for water and I had asked for a diet coke. Another 5 minutes go by still no drinks as we see her standing speaking to the sushi chef and appeared that she is watching a basketball game. She then puts her cell phone down after texting a novel to someone gets our drinks and gives us 2 waters. And then walks away again! I looked at my wife and asked if she would mind eating somewhere else cause clearly we are not going to get our food in a timely fasion. I didnt bother telling the manager or the waitress we got up put our coats on and left. No harm no foul no order was taken only water poured in 2 glasses were served. And mind you all of 3 other people as customers were in there so I cant even justify to someone that it was busy this particular evening. Its simple in this day of age people dont complain as to what is wrong with the service. PEOPLEJUSTDONTCOMEBACK!!! there are plenty of places such as these in union county alone! I hardly ever write a review but sorry this place SUCKSFORSERVICE!!!

I used to love this place. The half price option was awesome until the sushi started to taste old. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone going out for a nice time — maybe just a quick lunch. I haven’t been in months after 5 or 6 bad experiences with takeout.

Really like the electric roe special Sushi roll. Been there twice. Can’t find a place to beat its quality at the half-price.

Had the absolute worst delivery guy. He told me I should tip more which is completely rude. I will not be ordering from a place that tries to tell me how much I should tip to get my food delivered.

Fuji has made some of the best Smoked Salmon Avocado and Salmon Tempura rolls I’ve had. But my favorite might be the Mango Carrot roll. Last time, the mango was so ripe it was amazing. I love going here when I’m in the mood for basic rolls or when I need to pick up lunch quickly. You cannot beat the prices and their servers are nice. I’ve also tried their Kani salad and Scallop Teriyaki — I really liked both. They have a nice interior that feels more intimate and relaxed than Fujiyama Mama across the street. I like both restaurants, but find myself coming to Fuji more often.

Perhaps it was because I ordered delivery and not sit-down, but my sushi was old, bland, and gave me diarrhea. The Edison Roll advertised that it was topped with crab, but instead I was met with a shrimp tempura roll topped with a mountain of that horrible, stringy imitation crab meat. I ordered the three-roll dinner combo, which was 3 standard rolls along with soup and salad for 12.50, a really good deal I’d say. My salad was literally just iceberg lettuce and sour vinaigrette. Not even strips of carrot. 100% iceberg lettuce. The soup tasted pre-packaged. I’ve gone to fuji for years, but the quality has really fallen off, and the proof can be found by the fact that I’m typing this review on the John right now. Fujiyama Mama is across the street, and 1000x better.

I ordered delivery from here last night. Mostly — I chose based on my ability to order online — my usual sushi delivery spot is across the street, but I wasn’t in the mood for a phone call and trying to yell my order over the noise of a bustling restaurant. Online ordering — huge plus. I will say that the online delivery menu looked limited from the menu listed on the web site — I didn’t see any of the fruit sushis listed or some of the special rolls. I don’t eat fruit sushi, so it’s not a killer to me that they weren’t listed for online ordering, but it was something I noticed. I will also note that the web site quoted 35 minutes for delivery and mine was almost double that — I began to wonder if my order had been forgotten when their delivery man showed up. The food though? There’s not a single complaint I could possibly make except that based on price, I expected smaller rolls. There was no way I could finish what I ordered. The rolls were delicious. The spicy tuna handroll was actually spicy, which is awesome. It was freshly made and not at all soft or soggy like handrolls can sometimes be. The three special rolls I ordered were all very fresh and flavorful — a nice balance of fish and not too much rice(which I very much appreciate). Overall, I was impressed. I will definitely be ordering from Fuji again. I was pleasantly surprised that a place in a strip mall with big signs declaring their half-price offerings(which initially steered me away from them) could deliver some very good sushi for a very reasonable price.

I dig this sushi restaurant. Visually, its very pretty, well decorated and very spacious. The server was cute and friendly. My sushi was tasty too, and half price. I could have used a little less cream cheese in my philadelphia roll, but the Edison roll was deeeee-licious. The two pieces of unagi I ordered tasted fresh too. Could have used more eel sauce, but it was still good, and the underbelly wasn’t too grainy. The ginger and red bean ice cream they serve was pretty amazing. Best I’ve had at any sushi restaurant… well maybe not Monster Sushi’s but this comes to a close second. recommend this lil’ joint.
