Broad variety of play equipment. The gyroscope is showing wear and doesn’t spin freely or easily.

Joe S’s review is on point; the only thing this park lacks is shade. You have to leave the play area to find shade near the trees, but it’s a short walk and it wouldn’t kill your kids to experience some nature. The Marsh area is starting to get a little, er, well, Baltimore Inner Harbor-esque in places, so the city might need to drop a couple bucks to clean it up, but the ducks didn’t seem to mind much. The baby saw the ducks and smiled so that was worth my property tax dollars alone.

The bad first — NO shade for parents or kids(aside from some areas on the play structures themselves). This precludes the park from receiving a 5-star rating. The good is that this park boasts a plethora of activities in which kids can find fun. There are two soccer fields, a half-court basketball court with two hoops, swings, a massive play structure, a pond with easy access, and a physical activity where kids have to run from one light to another to switch them off as they turn on(I really don’t know what this is called but it looks fun). Importantly, there are bathrooms on site as well as a water fountain. The area on which the play structure and swings are located is the padded rubber type substance that is great for when falls occur, and there aren’t really rocks or any mulch that could otherwise be strewn about. All this makes for a great presentation, particularly given the newer equipment(park opened in 2010). This is by far a favorite location for us to visit, but the swings, slides, and rocking type toys all get way too hot when the sun is beating down, since there are no trees at all to give any relief. Be prepared to go when it’s cooler or cloudy, so as not to burn any legs or arms!
