Came here with a groupon hoping to use it on the buffet. Apparently owners changed this week and they will no longer be offering the buffet and or accepting groupons? Food was made to order which was good but my naan was too crispy & burnt.

Food was amazing and they were super nice. When we needed more rice they told us they were out at the moment and gave us naan instead!

Came here on a groupon deal. I was by myself so I just got a small amount of food to go. Place was much larger than I had expected. Looks nice, but kinda like a Chinese food Buffet, not very much said Indian. Service was fine, only took a few moments to get my food. Ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and a garlic naan. Portion size seemed a little small, chicken was a weird texture and seemed of low grade. Lots of sauce, but not very flavorful. I found it to be lacking the complex flavor combinations that I have found other places. Garlic Naan was ok, not super fantastic as others claimed. A good amount of minced garlic from a jar doesn’t really make up for other lack of flavor. Worth trying, but I don’t think I’ll return.

Let me start off by saying I love Indian food. Wait — Maybe I’m understating this. I love Indian food with such a white-hot fiery passion that I often lament that Indian buffets are not as commonplace as taquerias in California. I’ve been to India Plate a few times, and each time I’ve gotten a takeout order. The takeout procedure is pretty basic — you are given a Styrofoam container that you fill with buffet items to your heart’s content, they make a fresh naan for you, and you pay at the front. Pros: Naan… They make naan fresh for you when you get a to-go box. You are also given a choice of plain naan or garlic naan. I highly recommend the plain naan, for reasons explained below. Samosas: There is always some sort of fried deliciousness available(samosas, pakora, etc). Not every buffet has that! Cons: Salt/Spices…Most of the buffet items are delicious and amazing. Occasionally, though one item will be overpowered with salt or another spice. On a recent visit I got Saag Aloo(Curried spinach with potatoes) that was overpowered with garlic to the point that the dish was actually gritty with garlic granules. It is for this reason that I recommend the plain naan, because otherwise it would have been unbearable. Other times I have gotten items that are quite over salted — its as if the person making it does not realize that you do not salt food while it is cooking. Egg rolls: I’ve been here on a few occasions when egg rolls were in the buffet. It’s kind of like they were on sale at Costco or something and they just threw it in! An odd choice, but I guess the beauty of a buffet is that you don’t have to eat everything!

Garlic naan best I’ve ever had! Chicken tiki masala sauce also amazing! The chicken on the other hand, not so good. Actually, not good at all. Didn’t enjoy that part at all.

The waiters are probably the most pleasant I have encountered at an establishment of this price range. The vegetable samosas are really really good. Their nans are delicious and their tica masala plates are also very good. For the price, this place is highly recommended.

Update… I just went here for buffet lunch. Blah. Food was too salty, pakora were burned and stale. Almost no meat to be found. Hardly any selection… And gave me stomach ache… Which led to. Diarrhea Gross. Only come here for Dining in… Not buffet. Its cheap for a reason folks… On a positive note their chai is just wonderful.

Samosa wasn’t that great. A bit too salty. However, love the curry lamb was good with the garlic naan.

Reasonable price and food was good. I ate at this place lunch time and they had buffet. When me and my sister went in there was no other customers but the food was warm and the server was very nice. We really liked our food.

I had a terrible experience the last time I came and will not be coming here ever again. I came for the lunch buffet. Told the lady I was getting the buffet. She innocuously asked if I would like plain or garlic Naan. I decided to try the garlic not knowing that it was an extra $ 2.60!!! She did not tell me that it costs extra. I go up to pay and they tell me the total is $ 11.50. I was totally shocked because the buffet is advertised as $ 7.99 on the window. I asked why it was more and they said because I had the garlic naan. I told him I didn’t know it was extra otherwise I wouldn’t have chose it. I stood there for awkwardly waiting for a response then they ask me for $ 10. I reluctantly paid because I didn’t want a scene. This is false advertising nickel and dime BS and I will never patronize this place again. The food isn’t very good anyway. I don’t think they will last much longer as there is never anyone in here. Maybe they will learn how to run a legitimate business venture.

Buffet was stale and limited Claimed to charge only $ 7.99 for the buffet but sneaked in $ 4.00 in extra charges for bread

This place is my jam. Never had anything that wasn’t amazing. The buffet would be a steal at twice the price. The first time I went(not buffet) I was put off by how empty it was in there but maaaan, the food is insane enough to keep me coming back. The naan is on point and not all thin and chintzy like you get at some places. Try the garlic naan. The waiters have all been great as well. They call my girlfriend(in her late 20’s) ma’am which always makes me laugh.

OMG! the lunch buffet had me full! I got a good 3 plates in, and had to bow out gracefully! If you ever try the goat, do get scared due to the hair! it’s not from any of the staff! Happened to me once, then I noticed the cook was bald! I recommend all in West Sac to try this spot out! Best Lunch ever, and I was by myself!

Went back for the lunch buffet and man, it is a killer deal. Think of it: for $ 7.99(what you would pay for a sandwich at a lot of places), you get all-you-can-eat deliciousness. The lunch buffet had several vegetarian dishes, including saag paneer, veggie pakora and potato-pea samosa. Chicken makhni, great chicken curry, goat curry, complimentary naan, all the expected condiments and raita, great kheer and gulab jamun for dessert. I want to come here every day for lunch now! It deserves to be hopping during lunchtime because this is a great deal!!!

What a gem! Right off harbor, down a black, hit a left near Mcdonald’s to pull into a shopping center(that’s just how I remember things) and you’ll see India Plate. Where to start… First off, the place is huge! I didn’t expect all of the open space, it was nice. Walking in to the right is a dessert area, much like that of a bakery, and to the center of dining is a cool space for dance and entertainment. TV’s everywhere for all the bro’s out there. Now the food! 6.99 lunch buffet! I went on a Sunday btw. Largest selection I have seen in an Indian buffet in the Sacramento area to date. Goat curry, tandoori, butter chicken, pakora, tikka masala, etc. The works! Sorry no naan review because I am gluten-free. The owner was very helpful and just an all around great guy who seemed to have a real passion for his business. This is a very high quality business. Also: Chai tea avail. with buffet, no extra charge! Definitely a first for me I’ll definitely go back, and be back over and over again. Two thumbs up!

I am a big fan of Indian food. This place is good as it gets. I have been at lots of indian restaurants this place has the best creamy Chicken Tikka and Butter Chicken. They give enough portions for 2 – 3 people. I am going to get this place to cater my wedding. Best Indian restaurant in Sacramento Area. Their buffet is great too. Try this place out if you haven’t.

THISREVIEWISONLYFORTHELUNCHBUFFET This restaurant recently opened in the shopping center next to Goodwill and La Favorita Taqueria. Being that it just opened, I will be going back again to make sure I gave it a fair shot. That being said, here is my review! Based on taste, quality, value, and atmosphere. TASTE — Ok I love Indian food. I have to have it at least twice a month, usually once a week. My favorite Indian food place is Pooja by Jefferson, but this place is waaaay closer to where I work. The taste of everything was pretty good, though most items had a touch more spice than I am used to, it was all delicious. Particularly the naan, which was hot and fresh, and the rice pudding(kheer?) was much less sweet than usual. The only issue was most of the food was not very hot. I arrived at about 1pm, so the buffet had been open for a while, but maybe they need lids on the dishes? I don’t know… but most of it was lukewarm at best. I do want to note that I feel all of the food and containers were very clean, so while it is not the best practice to have food go lukewarm on the buffet, I believe it was safe. QUALITY — Yay! I was surprised by the large pieces of fresh veggies in the biriyani! The chicken tasted good and fresh, and the riata was full of delicious cucumber and fresh yogurt. VALUE — Wonderful!!! How can you beat a lunch buffet for value? I don’t know. Less than $ 8 out the door for all you can eat indian food!!! Though Pooja always has hot food, and good standard options, it is always about $ 11 for that indulgence. Top marks on value! ATMOSPHERE — Needs Work, but Acceptable I don’t know what you should expect out of a lunch buffet place, especially one so newly opened as this, but it felt… cold. No Indian cloths, music, or items. Only an handful of passionate paintings on the walls and some TVs. The buffet line area is really a circle of carts. Less crowded and close than Pooja, but it still feels so cold. All in all, a good $ 8 spent. I know how some kinks are worked out of the system during the first fiew months after opening, so I will definately be back to give it another go. If I knew I only had limited time for lunch break and needed some indian food fast, this would be my choice. Otherwise, for quality food(with the quality price tag) go to pooja for now.
