My brother and I came in to grab a bite. The daughter and the owner were arguing over the buffet time and totally ignores us two. We stood there for a good 5 minutes till they stopped and asked us if we needed to be seated. On the window of the restaurant it says that they serve«halal» food, but to just make sure I asked if this was a halal restaurant and the owner yells out«INSHALLAH» instead of saying allhmdullah or yes it is.

Pleasantly surprised! As someone who grew up eating my mom’s Pakistani, Persian, and Afghani influenced cooking, I was a bit skeptical. I was worried this place might do a number on my digestive system. I generally avoid«Indian» buffets, but this was definitely not a typical Indian buffet! Thankfully, this place was fantastic! The food was fresh, the seasoning was balanced and delicious. Very homestyle, simple, and comforting. The staff was friendly, and my mom found out they are actually from her hometown of Lahore, Pakistan. No pools of oil on top of the stews! No extreme red chili that leaves your mouth on fire. We didn’t leave the restaurant feeling like we were going to need a nap or curl up in a corner holding our bellies. It is actually a good example of the differences between Pakistani and Indian cooking styles. The fact that this pops up as an Indian restaurant on Unilocal may explain some of the 2 star reviews. If you are looking for a typical Indian buffet, this is not your place. Move along. There are plenty of actual Indian restaurants in the area that do focus on more veggie and vegan options. The Kabob Corner buffet primarily focuses on chicken and mutton dishes. It has a couple of vegetarian options but that is definitely not the focus. If you look at the actual menu, the sheer number and variety of beef kabob and specialty meat dishes like Nihari(a slow cooked beef stew) it’s pretty obvious. We also realized Kabob Corner primarily does a lot of catering and take-out so that may explain why the restaurant is not always packed. Their kitchen was busy busy busy prepping for a huge event. It might be a good idea to call before dropping by to make sure their kitchen is actually able to prepare dishes from the menu or if you will only have the buffet as an option.

Super flavorful Pakistani dinner buffet though it doesn’t offer too many options but already good enough. The garlic naan is crispy and tasty. Considering the relatively low price, I would definitely come again.

My husband and I love this place! The service is as fast and friendly as can be, and the price is definitely right. In our opinion, the food here blows Pooja out of the water! The Tikka Masala is excellent and the naan is amazing. We come here a couple times a month at least, and will continue to do so for a very long time!

I’ve driven by the place several times but finally took a chance to try it out. I have to say when I first walked in I thought I’m going to regret it. Surprisingly the food was good for the price and better than expected! They just need to work on some house keeping items then they’ll be good! I’d definitely return.

I always believe you get what you pay for. So for just 9 bucks I wouldn’t normally leave a negative review but this case is special. When they first were open the food was great!!! Well with a time it was getting worse to the point my family and I said NEVERAGAIN. Haven’t been there for like an year and kind of forgot, really wanted those barbecue chicken drumsticks so I stopped by. It was lunch time, the place was absolutely empty! Ok ok there was one table taken. But I mean for whole restaurant at lunch time and one person??? Anyways I went to get the food. As I am opening the pots I see no selection and I haven’t found barbecue chicken. But I did get one piece of steel hard piece of chicken that was burned on the other side and got the«best» piece out of 3 that were in there. I got rice and chicken curry, the chicken in sauce was dry, YES dry and they still managed to serve that. So on the way back to my table I thought I’ll go through again to find the chicken I came for and realized the BARBECUECHICKEN was in my plate.(You know how normally in Indian places it’s super red and super seasoned) well it looked nothing like that, I had no idea that was the barbecue chicken. When I had first bite I spit it out!!! It had ZERO seasoning spices, no taste at all!!! Super dry like it was sitting there for 3 days WHICH I DONOTDOUBTIT! For dessert I went to get their delicious donut balls in syrup. It was absolutely disguuuuuuusting. The balls were floating in dark syrop FULL of crumbs. I wonder how many times did they reuse it. Eating them was straight gross because they were soaked in oil. The whole entire time I was there no one came in… I paid for buffet and said NEVERAGAIN and this time it’s for sure! Oh and let’s not forget about the service! It was none! The host was super unfriendly and just kept watching TV while entire time.(Family kids were running after each other) smh I’ll rather take my money in other Indian buffets out there, a little more expansive but delicious FRESH food.

My husband and I LOVE this place. Everything is made fresh on the spot. If I could graze at the buffet for hours I would. They don’t speak a lot of English which is irrelevant to me because they are kind and generous and attentive. The Tikka Masala and Lamb curry are amazing. The price is right, its quiet and not noisy. Sometimes their kids sit in the dining room and watch bollywood films or music. They are so cute! Feels like a family has let you in to their home and made you an awesome meal!

Extra star for very good prices and not overly spicy dinner plate at Kabob Corner. I came in on a Friday evening to a mostly empty restaurant, but the main server(owner?) was there to greet me. The interactions were a little confusing due to a language barrier, but I had seen their dinner plate and other menu items online. Décor is relaxing with booths all around and some tables in the middle. They had a buffet available with lots of different dishes and sides. Nice music played as well as a TV in the back. I had a 7 dollar dinner plate that came with: a meat/veggie patty that was nicely browned on both sides and filling fluffy rice and naan quality chicken in a mild sauce another side that I can’t remember I was pretty happy with my meal and ended up with leftovers. I can be spice sensitive but this had just the right amount, more flavor than anything that hurts your mouth. I totally recommend heading out to Kabob Corner, just know what you want or try the options at the buffet for lunch.

I was in a search for a place to have a late lunch in West Sacramento. I used Unilocal and found this place which served a lunch buffet $ 8.99 until 4PM on the weekends. So off I went. It was 2:50PM and there were only two other diners in the restaurant when I walked in. I took a look at the buffet items, there were about 7 hot entrees(two were rice), 2 dessert items, and several cold«salad type» sides. The restaurant interior is simple and a bit outdated, but clean. It’s a bit of a hole in the wall in a non descript strip mall. But what a pleasant surprise of tasty Pakistani food. Anyhow, I ate a bit of all the hot entrees. The entrees are kept warm in chaffing dishes heated by a sterno. Each different dish had it’s own flavors meaning they didn’t all taste the same, which can happen at a buffet. I enjoyed ALL the dishes. My favorites were the chicken tandoori(it was moist with a good grilled exterior), chicken tikka masala(flavorful with pieces of cubed chicken), and the plain naan. The plain naan is crispy wafer like served piping hot with a touch of butter brushed on it. The place is family run and the owner is quite a nice fellow that is willing to engage in conversations with customers. He has a quiet demeanor about him. As other Unilocalers mentioned, the food in the chaffing dishes were very limited in quantity. But as folks come in, the dishes are re-filled. I can’t wait to comeback to try their kabobs and other entrée menu items.

I noticed Kabab Corner as I was filling up at the next-door Chevron station and decided to give them a go for dinner partially because I noticed their $ 9.99 dinner buffet sign. What I got was a plate of «meh» with a side of discomfort. The paltry buffet had a limited selection of some Indian restaurant staples such as rice, chicken tikka-masala, goat curry, and so on. I had the tikka, rice, daal, and garlic naan. The tikka was watery and not so tasty. There were parts of the chicken I couldn’t even chew. The rice was alright and the daal was actually very good. The naan, however, was pretty bad and might have even been something store-bought and re-heated. As for the discomfort, for much of my dinnertime meal I was the only patron. The place was eerily quiet and I felt almost like i wasn’t even supposed to be there. The man behind the counter, however, was pleasant and did want to make sure I enjoyed my meal. Too bad I couldn’t bring myself to tell him the truth.

I will be coming here again!

A year and a half later and this place is still fantastic. My husband and I now go about once a month to the dinner buffet. Our typical meal is chicken tikka masala, curried garbanzo beans, rice, naan, and then we try at least one other buffet item that we hadn’t tried before. Some of the offerings are really spicy, like sweating, red in the face spicy. But, the flavor is always outstanding. Everyone there is always so nice to us. We tried to go one evening when they were having an event and instead of turning us away they did a to-go order for us. It was clear that they were extremely busy and they still took the time to make our order fresh for us. Still recommend even after a year and a half. This place is a gem.

I came in at 12:30pm midweek and found myself alone in the entire restaurant. This is obviously not a good sign of things to come. Best bet– Their garlic naan tasted good, which is the only enjoyable item I ate. It’s a crispy wafer type of naan and not with garlic bits on top from what you’d expect but rather… Garlic oil brushed on top for the mild scent and flavor of it. If you like fluffy, pillowy naan this naan isn’t for you. Lunch buffet $ 8.99: Mutton — too salty Tandoori– two dry pieces left in the container Chicken Karahi — How can you have dry chicken in a curry sauce? Somehow they managed to serve just that. Only two main dishes for vegetarians: lentil and peas/carrots/potato mixture. That was pretty bland and no other choices for vegetarians or vegetable lovers such as myself! The pakora was chewy, not crispy as it should be. Bleh, check please! ****** I had to edit this review from 2 stars to 1(but zero deserved) because I had to run to the bathroom twice within 4 hours after eating there, completely outside my norm. ***************

Holy hell… how do you say in Punjab«Yay, there is actually a good buffet place within ten miles of Davis.» Everything in the buffet was good, well spiced, well cooked, and fresh. When they ran out of mutton before I could try it, I let our server know, got an apology(not needed), and she brought some out in about ten minutes. Good service, too. The owner/chef came out and overheard our conversation(again, about my deficiency in lack of appreciation for onions) and he proudly exclaimed that everything is made to order, and if we come back, he would make samosas for me without no onions«No problem.» I would definitely come back… but not sure if I would stick to the buffet or if my roommate and I would order a plethora of dishes from the menu(the prices seemed reasonable as well, whereas if we ordered a lot to share, we wouldn’t be breaking the bank). Am looking forward to many happy returns

My family and I come here often, usually on sundays and not one time have we been disappointed. The naan is the absolute best in all the world(and nope I havent been all over the world… yet) so I guess its just the best in MY world. The Beef Nahri is bomb! The only reason they didnt get 5 stars is because the décor is lacking and the variety of food is little… but what they do prepare is worth the $ 7.99+. Give them a try, you might like it as we do.

A friend took me here a couple of weeks ago for Sunday lunch buffet. After walking in, I was hit by an obnoxious smell that almost make me sick in my mouth, but being polite I decided to try the food anyway. The buffet had a limited amount of items with only one vegetarian option which appeared to be a potato saag dish-even the rice had meat in it. This spinach was black and the potatoes were lukewarm. Being from England, I have had some of the best Indian food in the world but this was by far the worst Indian food I have ever tasted in my life. After forcing down a plate of the black spinach and warm potatoes, I decided I would give the dessert a chance. At first glance, it looked like yellow mashed potatoes but again being polite I decided to try it anyway. I took one mouthful, and was disgusted by the inexplicable taste it left in my mouth. I have no idea what exactly it was, but they should be ashamed of themselves. How this restaurant has the audacity to serve such rubbish is beyond comprehension. DONOTWASTEYOURTIMEANDMONEY! You have been warned…

It was my bf and I first time there last night! I have good and bad things to say about this place. Positive– the tandoori and chicken curry were perfectly cooked. For this reason alone I will return. The garlic naan was my other fav. Service and price were good! $ 9.99 for buffet dinner. Negative– there wasn’t much to get. We had to wait for the food to be refilled. Every time the cook refilled the pot, she puts out 4 pieces of tandoori and a few pieces of chicken. So if you are slow by the time you get to the buffet everything is gone.
