I eat at Tacodeli in Westlake at least once a week. I love the Cowboy taco with corn tortilla, second favorite is Mojo Fish taco on corn tortilla again. Another favorite is the Space Cowboy on corn, the portabella mushrooms are delicious! The guacamole is a little different in a good way, more blended and more cilantro. My son and I crave it!

We frequent this location and usually have great service. However, this time not so good. The guy that waited on us could barely get out a «hello» or «may I help you». It made me feel uncomfortable. When we got our order we did not get one of the tacos. The order taker did not give me a receipt so I could not confirm what we ordered. We were able to order and pay for another taco from the server but the extra time it took delayed us. Makes me wonder why there are tip jars by the cash register. They are asking for a tip before you get your order. For some reason I tipped. If I had known the order would be wrong I would not have tipped.

By far my favorite place to get lunch every week! I am never disappointed with my corazon salad, it’s the best! The people at this location are always super friendly and helpful. The lines can get pretty long during lunch and there’s only one soda machine, but that doesn’t even matter. Still haven’t had a chance to try their breakfast tacos, but judging by other reviews and the lunch tacos I’ve had, I can’t wait to get breakfast here one day! I heart Tacodeli

Consistent food quality product but disappointing«To GO» service. I was a loyal customer of this store and like I said always satisfied with food quality, however there was on several in store visits a vast difference in food portions for the in house dinning vs. the to-go portion. But I digress, the store has a caller ID, a history of what you order and you pick up tacos 4 – 5 days a week for 2 – 3 months you place an order on phone then they put you on hold after you tell them AT&T in the area is spotty and you end up chasing your order on 3 call-backs as the call falls out just like you told them. They need to re-tune their to go on boarding process & staff as I am sure with offices &360 right in the hood they get a lot of calls. It was more than just a 1 time pop or glitch the volume impact at peek hours and phone etiquette @ this store needs a consultants observation, retraining, and a little common sense.

Love this place! Great tacos, the otto, the jess etc. And the Dona sauce it the best! (Queso is better at Torchy’s)

I frequent this place almost religiously every Sunday for a late breakfast taco. Big fan of any/all of their breakfast tacos. I’ve been lucky to try almost all of them, as they typically cater breakfast to my office every Friday giving me a chance to try everything. The place has good seating with lots more outside. I’ve never had bad service here either as the employees here are happy to greet you and will occasionally walk by and ask if your meal is okay. They also have Maine Root sodas here which are a plus.

It came highly recommended from a colleague. I was hoping that it would be as good as the Surf PoBoy tacos. But I was proved totally wrong… these are simple tacos and priced appropriately(at $ 3 – 4 per taco). Mojo Fish Taco: Okay… Pollo Fantastico Taco: Pretty bad… the(shredded) chicken did not seem well cooked. Their guacamole and chips are pretty good. And have a good choices of sauces to go with your tacos/chips. Rice/Beans: just okay

It was my first time experiencing breakfast tacos. Where I come from, breakfast tacos just aren’t a thing. But now I am a true believer and feel the need to open up a breakfast taco shop in my city. With how awesome their scrambled egg deliciousness and freshness of their ingredient are, I’d find it hard to believe there are better breakfasts tacos in the area. Plus, everyone I was with(who live here in Austin) confirmed that this is their fave taco place. I ordered The Jess and the steak breakfast tacos. Both were great, but the steak was the ultimate winner. The steak was so tender and flavorful and since I’m a meat lover and the Jess did not have meat, the steak taco won. They also have this creamy green hot sauce called Donna, which states to be the house favorite, and it’s very understandable as to why it’s the favorite. So good, with the right amount of kick. The staff was really friendly, too. After the girl took my order, word got around that it was my first experience because the guy who delivered our tacos to the table said«Hey, I hear it’s your first time having these. I hope you love them!» And then he checked back later to see what I thought. He seemed like he genuinely wanted to make sure I liked it. I can’t wait til I come back for lunch tacos next.

Taco Deli is so good. I love the migas plate(queso on eggs!), any breakfast taco with mashed potatoes and the hot green sauce. My husband loves the cowboy taco, el conquistador taco and their beans and rice. We just wish it was a open for dinner… and maybe a little cheaper.

For the AMOUNTOFPEOPLE squished into the restaurant waiting for their tacos, I expected better… I got the salmon taco(without the shell) and the taco salad without the sour cream or dressing. Nothing wildly out of the ordinary here… And the salmon portion was minuscule… I should have ordered four of them! My fiancé got a trio of tacos: chicken, pork and a breakfast one and when asked if he liked his food, he said«pretty darn good» but I can read between the lines, after all, he’s my fiancé, so I know him QUITEWELL… That was code for: eh, I could probably make something better at home if I really felt like cooking. Sure Tacodeli filled us up, and is one of the STAPLERESTAURANTS of the people we are visiting in TX … But if I lived here, would I ever go back? Eh… Not likely unless I was trying to appease some taco/Mexican food loving people… I just know now that I would order $ 12-$ 16 worth of salmon ALONE… With maybe a side of sautéed spinach or guac!

They usually have awesome tacos and equally awesome service! However, the tacos have been getting increasingly smaller as of late. We got 8 tacos to go this morning and added avocado($ 0.50) to each. The Mexico City Sirloin, pictured below, is one of my favorites for breakfast. However, it is $ 4.25(3.75 + 0.50) the way I like it and has just not been living up to the bar TacoDeli previously set. Oh well, I’ll probably still keep coming back :)

I am in love with Tacodeli. There’s just no way around it. They make the best tacos in Austin. And, if you don’t believe me, go ahead and read about it in Bön Appetit, Epicurious or Serious Eats. I stopped by for breakfast tacos this morning. The last time I was here was in December 2014 and I ate here for lunch. It was really good, which made me want to come back. This visit, I stopped by for breakfast and it was a-maz-ing! The really nice man who took my order helped me decide what to get. He suggested Jess Special and The Otto. I ordered both, plus a small queso. He also suggested trying the dona salsa. My order arrived and everything looked incredible! I was quite surprised at how much avocado they put in their tacos because the price per taco is very reasonable(less than $ 3 per taco). In Los Angeles, they charge $ 3 just to add avocado to a taco! These tacos are flavor bombs! I don’t know how they pack so much punch in a taco! I preferred the Jess Special over The Otto, but both were delicious. The salsa and queso were both incredible. The man who helped me with my order stopped by to see how I liked the food. He explained how all of the ingredients are locally sourced and the farms where they choose to purchase them are very carefully selected. I could tell how proud he is of the company he works for, which is so nice to see! I don’t know when I’ll be returning to Austin, but one thing is for certain. I will definitely be coming back for more!

There are 6 vegetarian options, which is the most out of any taco place I’ve been to and its amazing. So many choices! I have been meaning to try Tacodeli for a while, because of those veggie options. But they close at 3PM so my friend and I had the hardest time fitting it into our busy weekend plans. We finally made it happen. I ordered the space cowboy and freakin’ vegan tacos on a taco plate, which comes with two tacos + beans and rice. I also split a side of chips and medium salsa with my friend. Their medium salsa was the right amount of spiciness for me. But, I thought the beans and rice were too plain. I wasn’t a fan. We didn’t end up finishing the chips and salsa, so I wish I hadn’t ordered the taco plate. I could have just eaten more of our chips. On to the tacos — I felt that the tacos were missing certain elements. I’m talking about lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and/or sour cream — the typical Tex-Mex staples. If just one of those elements were added to the tacos, they would have tasted a whole lot better and more flavorful. You can customize your taco with additions, but it costs extra to add things to your tacos. They also need to add prices to the gigantic menu they have above the cashiers. We weren’t sure how many tacos to order, because we didn’t know what they cost. I kept awkwardly eyeing others people’s dishes to figure out their portion sizes. It wasn’t until we were closer to the cashier that we saw small personal menus that had prices on them. Sad to say it, but I prefer Torchy’s to Tacodeli even though there are less vegetarian options there. Torchy’s tacos have much more flavor to them.

Came here recently after having been tempted many times by their breakfast tacos which are apparently sold a bunch of places! I know breakfast tacos are a THING here in Austin, but MAN their lunch tacos are EVENBETTER. Best I’ve had! I ordered 3 different types of tacos, and they were all delicious. The Tacoloco, I honestly couldn’t distinguish the individual guacamole and queso fresco, but the brisket was just amazing in this context, very juicy and tender. I also got the Puerco Verde, which had a great fresh cilantro and salsa verde flavor to it, as well as a chicken taco whose name I don’t recall. The thing that I really didn’t expect was their SALSA. Their medium salsa is the bomb, along with Chuy’s salsa it’s my favorite in ATX so far. A bag of chips is only 50 cents, and you can grab as much salsa as you want if you eat in, just in little cups.

Nothing makes a weekend morning extra special like breakfast tacos from Taco Deli! Go for the sirloin steak breakfast taco and coat it in their homemade Doña green sauce. It’s amazing!

Of all the rivalries Austin Unilocalers choose sides on — Whole Foods vs Central Market, Kerbey vs Magnolia, attention-ho threadsters vs nice people — the one I can never quite draw the line at is Tacodeli vs Torchy’s. I think both of them are pretty cool, and if I’m in the mood for semi-pricey Anglicized taco fare, it’s more about which one is closer to me than who’s better. I think Torchy’s does makes a killer queso, and they’re open way past 3pm. I also think Tacodeli has some remarkable cult-worthy sauces, which are fun to mix & match & play with. Both places are making great tacos with hipster ingredients & clever names. But if you’re zipping around Westlake Hills for whatever reason, and Dance Dance Taco suddenly hits you, there’s a cool Tacodeli right next to the HEB. And if it’s past 3, you’ve got that cool Kerbey right across the street. Sometimes in the Game of Unilocal, location is everything.

I LOVETHISPLACE! Can I now get that in bigger letters and with an airplane sign in the sky? lol This location makes food just as delicious as all the other locations. It is crazy how consistent this company is with their food. I have never seen a company that has gotten 5 stars at all locations. The Floretino is so good and I add refried beans to it for more protein. The chicken. well all chicken tacos are great… Oh and Dona. The Dona sauce is my favorite ever. I crave that sauce and if I could thank Dona personally for her delishes contribution to Austin society I would. This location has great customer service and a nice sitting area on the inside. They close at 3pm and so I would say get there at least an hour before they close in case they are super busy. Or better yet just call in your tacos and than sit down if you find an open area. Oh yeah, the Guac is really good and has more of a lemon flavor(compared to Torchys) … I wish I could describe it better. because that sounded bad. But just eat it and you’ll know what I mean! And there is a Juiceland in the same parking lot!!! So juiceland + Tacodeli = Best day ever

Lunch time! I have one friend who is obsessed with dona sauce, one friend who likes being around people, and one friend who just wants some food… oh, wait, that’s me. So, whenever we go out for lunch to get out of the office, this is where we end up, if we’re all in the same group! This is my second favorite Tacodeli, but trust me, it’s anything but second best! So, we go during lunch, and lunch in Westgate can take forever! Don’t worry, this TD is on fleek. They’ve got tons of indoor seating and outdoor seating, and the staff is on point. Organized and fast! Alright, so down to the good parts. — Queso. Very good. More buttery than cheesy. Quite thin, but tastes great. — Guacamole. You get a cup(yes, measuring cup sized cup) of guacamole. Big portion. Very citrusy. — Banh mi Tuesday special taco: YUM. It’s got the elements of a banh mi sandwich, but has Tacodeli’s twist. Not the same noticeable flavors, but it gives a good nostalgic flavor. — Ensalada Tacodeli w/sirloin and lime vinaigrette: THISISWHEREIT’S AT. Juicy, plump, flavorful cubes of grilled sirloin, crisp lettuce, guacamole, pico, sour cream. IT’S SOGOOD. I will never go back to tacos.
