Outstanding! Come with my friend usually for Taco Tueadays, happy hour. Get their early to catch a seat though. Their tacos are fulfilling, will only need to order 2. Drinks are stiff. He atmosphere is nice, especially when they open the roof. They should do that more often. Great place to check out. Kind of hidden behind another place but glad a friend knew of this place

Love the food, love the servers but management needs a change. Have gone for breakfast on multiple occasions now and they are severely understaffed. The manager doesn’t help, stands around and watches and the ship go down. I have been coming for many years but now thinking about stopping. Really hope the owner replaces the rude and lazy manager that covers the weekend shift.

…um, you ever go to a place year after year… same old staff, who act like they hate waiting on you… and are generally not happy working there? BUT it’s close, convenient, relatively inexpensive… but you consistently get treated like crap? well, go here… AND they changed their fries… ugh. Get the hot wings or BURGER… not their«mexican» dishes. AND skip the cauliflower tostada. Who does that?

No reservations. That’s really annoying when you’re coming in with a larger party on a busy night, but alright. We called ahead to let them know we were coming and, when we arrived, were quoted 30 minutes. That’s fine. They set us up with some chairs outside and we waited. We waited an hour. Small parties were seated continuously, but clearing a table for the large party that was waiting was too much of a hassle. We didn’t get seated until 10PM, and seeing as they close at 11, it felt rushed. The best part of the evening was the complimentary, endless pico de gallo and homemade tortilla chips that were warm from the oven. It was made for the gringos at the table, but this gringa happens to like things caliente. No bueno. We ordered the guacamole for the group and it was straight out of the Ralph’s blender – pale, over-blended, and so full of lime juice that I couldn’t get past the first bite. Gross. Upon recommendation, I ordered the carne asada emborrachada; others at our table ordered more of this dish, a few chicken and beef fajitas, a burrito, etc. The food took a long time to reach our table. My «drunken carne asada» was not so great. The bitter flavor of the beer masked the taste of the meat, and the cut was tough, despite being cooked to my liking. The vegetables were limp and overcooked. And the rice was like an afterthought on the plate. It was all«Tex-Mex,» but felt disjointed. I tried my friend’s chicken fajitas and it tasted like Chili’s. Seriously? Service was great, though. Lots of attention from the wait staff and my glass never went empty. For this price, however, I would rather visit another establishment and actually enjoy my food.

Love this place. But it seems they took their sweet corn tamales off the menu, which were a fav of mine. I must have been the only one ordering them. Bummer. Still, love the Tres Enchiladas, Blackened Chicken Tacos and of course the Queso Dip. Had a little mix-up the first time I ordered delivery from them, but whoever I spoke to was cool and handled it. Recommended.

Always good food! Easy to valet park, usually there’s a little wait because it’s good. The guacamole is particularly good. I’m a creature of habit and usually get a combo with enchilada and taco– then I compare a bunch of places. This is a favorite I often forget about because it’s off the main street.

Texans(yes, y’all, I am one) struggle to find acceptable Tex Mex outside of the homeland. No, we don’t ever expect it to be as good as the real stuff, but it is a never ending quest anyway. I ate here with my husband and daughter on Saturday night and we really enjoyed the food, the service and the ambience. The retractable roof thing is pretty cool. I admit, the food here was healthier than real Tex Mex.(I think the menu even stated«No Lard», which fits the healthy, SoCal way of eating. It’s just not quite as tasty as the real, non-healthy stuff.) We’ll be returning here a lot. I can eat there more often since the food is healthier, right?

The food’s not bad. All you can eat Taco’s on Taco-Tuesday. The inside of the restaurant is not very impressive and I think the décor could be better, but I’m really just there for the food. Fresh chips and salsa shortly after being seated. We also ordered a side of Guac, which was very tasty. I first ordered 3 soft tacos, which I wasn’t a fan of… believe it or not the soft tacos made the difference. I loved the same tacos I ordered when I went with hard shell tacos. Yes, HARD is better. :-) I recommend you trying the variety of them. My personal favorite are the beef tacos, not so much a fan of the chicken. The flavor and seasoning in the beef tacos are pretty incredible. The side of rice and beans are just okay. It really is Tex-Mex food. Not as much spices as I would like. I thought the waiter was attentive. He checked up on us often and made sure we had everything we needed. The prices aren’t bad at all. Valet parking is not necessary. Seem like it’s the only option, but there’s actaully plenty of street parking one block East on Sweetzer. There’s also parking across the way on King.

Food was average and it was not pleasant to eat there because there were lots of people there to drink right next to us. One drunk guy dropped his guacamole on top of me and didn’t even notice. Half way thru my meal, I asked for spicier salsa and I ended up not using it. Later I found out I was charged for an extra $ 1 for it. I also got a watermelon margarita and there was no watermelon taste.

This review is strictly for the day shift. My girlfriend and I live on Flores. We eat here at night, frequently. We came in today Feb 21st2016 just wanting lunch and a drink. What we got was nothing close to our evening meals. Our burrito was slathered in grease and was bursting open from just all of the mish mash of crap they put in it. I had to take it home so I could put it in a tortilla. I HADTOTAKEMYBURRITOHOME, TOPUTITIN A TORTILLA. The«salad» was a big handful of iceberg lettuce, SOAKED in balsamic and watery as heck. My «Mojito» was shredded up mint, getting stuck in my teeth, little tiny pieces of mint then much bigger pieces but clogging the straw. It tasted like well rum, maybe a splash of uncarbonated sprite, and lots of water. The lime was almost brown and dry with the sides where it was cut completely dead and dry. Needless to say I sent it back. Never had this problem at night(not saying it was incredible at night either). I worked a long time in the service industry, this is laziness not anything else. Boooo day shift.

This place is awesome! I went with two of my girlfriends for dinner and happy hour. It was dimly lit, casual, and delish!(All the things I look for in a dining establishment!) We had $ 5 margaritas… maybe a few too many… and had the best time! There are so many good choices on the menu, and the chips and salsa are great. Service was pretty good. I honestly didn’t notice. all I know is that he kept bringing margaritas. Which was fine by me! I will definitely be back.

I’m in LA often and always try to stop here, it’s one of my favorites. It’s right in the heart of West Hollywood which is a fun trendy part of Hollywood(also the gay capital of LA). the fajitas are the best here and a good sharing plate. We usually get the pitcher of margaritas as well. I love the atmosphere and hate when i can’t make it here.

Went here last Saturday and surprisingly it was not very crowded. My friend had a margarita and the Enchilada plate with 3 different fillings and I had the Beef Burrito with Fries. My Burrito was very delicious, with an excessive amount of Fries(no complaints) and my friend enjoyed his Enchiladas as well. Delicious food at a VERY reasonable price. Even though the restaurant was kinda poorly lit and the service a little slow, we really enjoyed the food and would highly recommend this restaurant in a heartbeat.

If you do not have a penis then do not bother coming here and expect good quality service. It’s so sad because I love their margs(when they get them right 10% of the time) Hostesses are always rude and dismissive. We were told the wait was 20 minutes and we waited 2 hrs. Our service was sweet enough even though he totally botched the drink order. As a female, if you say«hey this is wrong» expect hostility, not a correction or gasp — an actual apology

Cute place, good service, nice l’il patio, great food! I had the refried bean, cheddar and monterey jack cheese burrito– so good! Beans were flavorful and not overly salted. It came with a little basic side salad. My husband had the Nu-Mex Burrito(shredded chicken, lettuce, tomato, refried beans, cheese, with salsa and guacamole)– it was massive and tasty! Only tricky part was finding a parking space in the area(there is valet parking, though). We were there just before 3pm and it wasn’t crowded. Evenings are quite busy there, understandably so. Dog friendly also, another plus.

Came here late at night with a couple of friends and it was super crowded! Oh it’s because it was taco Tuesday! Despite it being very crowded, we got sat! The taco special is amazing for taco Tuesday. You would think it bra bunch of tiny tacos put together to make a meal. But these were nice big taco with many taco options. I got the three taco options and you can pick your meat. It also comes with rice and beans so naturally I didn’t finish it and took it home. The chips and salsa starter is also very good! Love the restaurant vibe and love the area.

Simply put, my favorite place in West Hollywood — the first place I take all of my guests. The set-up is indoor-outdoor — some covered seating, but all around an open-air courtyard. Definitely go for the margaritas — pro tip: There are lots of flavors that aren’t on the menu, so be sure to ask your waiter to give you the full list! As for food, the portions are MASSIVE and full of Tex-Mex goodness — I’ve never had anything I didn’t like here. The waitstaff are also the nicest guys in the world — after a few visits, you get to know them all. If you’re going on Taco Tuesday, be sure to leave yourself time — they don’t take reservations, and you might be in for a bit of a wait… BUTIT’S WORTHIT.

Marix is the Mexican sister of basix. It’s tucked away off the immediate corner off Santa Monica. I ate here with my family after my son got out of school. The service was great, I wish I had remembered his name, he was really friendly and attentive. The food wasn’t anything I haven’t had before but was greatly priced and very filling. The meal also started with complimentary chips and salsa which again wasn’t that amazinf, but still good. I also noticed a happy hour menu I have to come back for. The prices on the margaritas were ridiculously cheap. More or less I’ll probably come back, and probably would mention this place to a friend.

Been there 3 – 4 times per year the last 10 years. I love the place!!! The margaritas are awesome. Go for the«skinny» ones, but order it as a pitcher. Some of the waiters have been there for ever, and you are always nicely treated. I usually go for the fish tacos, which are excellent, followed by apple pie with vanilla ice cream as desert! Party time on Sunday evenings! When the weather so allow they open up the ceiling for fresh air and the beautiful open skies.

Been coming here since I was a wee lad and I have nothing bad to say about this place. The service has always been top notch. Today our waiter noticed our table was wobbly from the tile floor so he wedged some cardboard under it to ensure it was level. That piece of info is useless but I said it anyway. I always get the steak fajitas with the onions and peppers well done and they’re always amazing. I’ve tried other people’s dishes and they were also great. Get some kick-ass margaritas and you can’t lose. They also have a taco Tuesday where you get all the tacos you can eat for 8.95 and $ 5 monster margaritas. Be prepared to pay $ 6.50 for valet because street parking is nearly impossible. That is all.

My goto Mexican place. I’ve been going here for years, and it’s still my favorite place to get a margarita and Mexican food. The regular margaritas(rocks) are tasty and powerful. Very powerful. The food is almost always quick and delicious. I’ve tried a number of items on the menu, with very little disappointment. But fajitas being are always a favorite. Check out taco Tuesday and happy hour.

Super cute, definitely something you’d expect to find in San Francisco. There’s something about their décor that screams old school Cali restaurant, which is definitely a good thing. Must be the bamboo chairs, the romantic open roof, the leveled seating, greenhouse windows. We had lots of food that night. The dish that stood out to me the most was the shrimp something I ordered. I can’t remember the name of it, but it was under their specials, our waiter recommended it to me. It was grilled to perfection, seasoned pleasantly and just overall delicious. I ate every last bit on the plate it was just sooooo ridiculously perfect. If you’re going out in WeHo then you should consider making Marix your dinner or lunch destination. They have a happy hour menu which all my friends were happy about, and they have very friendly and attentive waiters and fantastic food. Tips: Parking is available on the street, we parked over in a lot just a few blocks away. Check out DBA For the Record if you’re in the area, fabulous Tarantino-esque show.

There’s nothing overly spectacular, and nothing horrible. It’s just a local Mexican place. The food has never been anything extraordinary. The shrimp is always over cooked. I got the three street tacos this last time, carnitas were very good, steak and chicken both dry. The refried beans are delicious, rice is delicious. The salsa is okay, nothing memorable. The chips are pretty hard. It’s always loud as hell in there. Starts with the music and then everyone yelling over the music. The seating feels cramped, no matter where you are. Service isn’t bad, but again, nothing extraordinary. It’s not my first choice for Mexican food, but it gets the job done.
