I came here on Halloween night. We needed a place to grab a drink after walking on the parade route. There were dancers prancing on the pillars. It looked like the only bar that was still letting people in so we went for it. They were selling shots and beer for $ 10 and $ 5. We just had Tecates and sat at the booths. They played good old school music. All the hip hop songs I listened to in high school. There’s even an upstairs and this was great for people watching and costume gawking! Overall, a cool spot to grab a drink and enjoy the view. The only bad thing is I think the bathrooms were closed that night so I was forced to use the portable toilets in the pitch black alley on the side.

If you’re looking for a way to spend a lovely Sunday brunch outside enjoying the weather or even inside their cozy bar; this is the place. From the amazing service to the delicious menu there was no part of my Sunday that went wrong. Chicken & waffles and a mimosa to wash it down was the perfect thing a non-counting calorie girl can ask for.

Swung by L’Scorpion West this past Saturday around 12:00PM to celebrate my sisters birthday«LA» style. Reading through the reviews I was a bit hesitant to dine here– but my boo said their menu looked interesting and they offered bottomless mims, so why not. REDFLAGS: — We arrived around 12:00 to find the place empty, not one person. — We sat on the patio and it took the server about 15 mins to bring us water. When you’re the only people there, it honestly shouldn’t take that long. — Within the next 10 minutes 2 other small parties arrived. The poor waitress was the only one working yet had awful multi-tasking skills. She attended to the other parties and always sayed«I’m So Sorry» when passing by our table, that only works the first couple times, not 5 – 6. She would literally, take a drink order, run away. Give another party menus, and run away. We were ready to order drinks and food — about 30 minutes had passed and we were over it. I’m sure they just opened, are short staffed, etc. but note that people in LA expect to be waited on in a timely fashion. Plus, we were the first party to show up and orders had been taken from the other tables, one party already had drinks… that doesn’t make sense. I’m sad because the venue itself is cute & outdoors and the menu options were right up my alley. Granted I can’t fully judge a place if I haven’t even eaten there, but when service is poor the chances of me coming back to eat here are VERY slim. I hope they take this as constructive criticism and realize they might need to hire a few more people? We ended up walking to Kitchen 24 and had an amazing birthday brunch. *FYI: if you plan on getting their bottomless mims, they require you order an entrée* — Easy metered street parking if you end up dining here.

We went for brunch on the weekend, maybe that’s a reason why I wasn’t so impressed. They were short staffed, and the dishes did not impress as we had hoped. Ok, I’ve got to give credit for our waitress who seems to be juggling multiple things, but a bit absent at times. The brunch… nothing to write home about. I don’t even want to waste your time. Out.

Not sure why this place is 4.5 stars exactly… sometimes Unilocal can be off. In any case, I came because it’s near where I live and I like to support new local businesses, especially in this weird area around SM Blvd and La Cienega that is kind of dead. However, I can’t say that I was entirely convinced to come back to this place. From what I know, they haven’t had a Grand Opening yet, and they are only in their Soft Open phase. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they are still playing with their menu to optimize the food. I do give them credit for asking how the food was many times. The service was phenomenal, and everyone was very nice. 3-stars for the food. I came for Sunday brunch and ordered: 1. Brussel Sprouts: Unconventional, maybe trying a little too hard to be different, but I did not particularly enjoy the dish. The sprouts were too big, so the center wasn’t adequately cooked. I prefer my sprouts with a slight pan-fried texture, which was not present here. The sauce was good, but a little overwhelming. I think if they had cooked the brussel sprouts a bit more with this sauce, the dish would require less sauce. On the other hand, my friend liked them, so… 2. Chicken and Waffles: First, the good. The fried chicken wings and drums were AMAZING. Perfect level of crispiness. Bravo. The waffles… looked nice, but I think the texture needs to be different. They weren’t soggy, but they were soft without the external crunchiness, which I like in all of my Belgian waffles. This is an easy fix. There were strawberries and whipped cream on top. 3. Eggs, Asparagus, Bacon: This dish was simple, but pretty good. My friend ordered his eggs sunny-side up, but instead got it over easy. It was good, but it wasn’t quite the right order. They were out of the crudo and yellowtail, so didn’t get to try these. In terms of pricing, it is quite expensive for Brunch — on par with some great places. $ 40 for 2 people for two simple dishes, a glass of OJ, and an appetizer. They probably need to decrease the price of their food by 25% to be competitive. The unlimited mimosas for $ 15 seem like a good deal, but I didn’t get it today :-P

Came here with friends and had a great time. Poor beer selection…$ 6 for a bud light… eh Food was ok… salty. Had the wings and the kale salad. Prices are decent for the appetizers. I give 4 stars for the service, it was great… although!,…it was very slow on this Saturday night. It was 10pm and maybe 3 other people here

The best spot for a low cost, lunch time meal. This hidden gem was empty when we arrived at 2PM on a Monday. Once I looked at the lunch menu I couldn’t figure out why… $ 5 entrees AND drinks. Could it get any better? I ordered the champagne margarita. It was delicious, and pretty too. We ate the Ahi salad and the fish tacos. We were stuffed. The service was spot on, and they gave us a free crème brûlée. Amazing!

Had the Living Social«$ 40 for $ 20» deal. Coupon says reservations are required so I diligently made them at 6PM on a Saturday night(yes yes, I eat early… how uncool, I know). No problem getting a reservation at that time. It’s the heart of WeHo so you know it’s hard to park… plan accordingly. It was a rainy evening so unfortunately I don’t think we saw L’Scoprion West at it’s best. It’s one of those places that has a patio in front, a half enclosed area then a smallish interior. These sort of places do not do well in the rain. Most of the restaurant was a slippery wet mess. When we walked in, the staff seemed surprised to see us. They located our reservation(the place was completely empty) and we were able to pick our own seat of the 15 or so interior(dry) ones. I asked for a wine list. They didn’t have one. OK. But the server did go through the wine choices. The only white on offer was a Chardonnay. We are not off to a good start here. I’ll pass on the wine. We decided to share a variety of small plates since the only four mains on offer didn’t seem that interesting to us. We had the jalapeño crab cakes($ 9), which are two small crab cakes served with a skid mark(sorry, but it’s true) of a spicy mayo-based sauce. They were good. And the portion appears very tiny, but they could fix that by including more sauce and maybe a small salad on the side of the large plate. Presentation counts. Next came the spiced rock shrimp($ 11)… this was maybe half a dozen of small fried shrimp. Again, tiny portion. No sauce, and they really needed sauce. Not particularly interesting or fresh tasting. I don’t recommend this dish. Then the«cilantro divers scallops»(as the menu says — $ 12). This is two nicely seared scallops in a small pool of a pesto-y cilantro sauce. Very good. Portion will make you roll your eyes although by this time, you’re getting used to it. To feel virtuous, we had the kale avocado salad($ 7). This is a large portion of kale topped with maybe half of a sliced avocado. It was OK. Then we had the bacon smoked Brussels sprouts($ 7), which are good and also have a portion size that is more respectable. Service was friendly. The food was all around pretty decent. The portions are very tiny so you get the feeling you are being terribly overpriced for things. They could change this with better presentations and maybe adjusting the portion sizes of some items so you don’t leave feeling so… taken advantage of. I probably won’t be back and wouldn’t buy another coupon deal. It’s not a bad place, just nothing that stands out.

Great location on SMB. The patio overlooks a loud street, but they’ve managed to create a cozy ambience for the customers who are dining inside. It’s on the smaller side. I would recommend this place for dinner or late night lounging. The food was not too memorable and service is slow. I think they’ve got some work to do until they get their processes straightened out.

Have to write a review — the food is AMAZING. Literally stumbled upon this place with my girl last night — we ordered everything we could and it was all so great! The wings THO! Man Im getting hungry just writing about this — Brian was our server but i think he’s also the VP shows how hard they work! They just started up so im going to be visiting often before this place gets swarmed — Only reason im giving this place a review is because it definitely deserves a good one from all the other haters and snobs listed below. oh and HAPPYHOURALLNIGHT?! buy on get one drinks? you have got to be kidding me — love this place.

Came here last Sunday on the 23rd for my birthday brunch with my lady friends. I live in Newport Beach but had my girls come in from San Diego and SF for the weekend celebration of my life. We were staying nearby and had been Unilocaling brunch spots and this one was so near us and about a 10min walk.(Sidenote: I had even considered coming here for dinner and drinks the previous Friday but it just didn’t work out because you can’t get 6 girls ready in time to go anywhere.) Anyway, we had made reservations and were quickly seated by the owner, Martin. We were seated upstairs, which gave a bit more intimate feel that I loved. The day was sunny and warm, couldn’t have asked for a better day to brunch. Martin was such a sweetheart, he brought us out champagne, OJ and a bottle of rosé cava(which he topped off our mimosas with) and they looked just beautiful. Worthy of Instagram. He suggested different plates for us to try and we loved all of them. –Jalepeño Yellowtail: so fresh and flavorful, we had to get 3 orders. –Chicken and Waffles: again, we got 2 orders to share and even another order of just the chicken. Finger lickin’ good. –Breakfast Quiche: so soft and fluffy, spinach blend that melts in your mouth with a flaky, buttery crust. –Eggs Benedict, Chipotle Scrambled Egg Tostada: didn’t try either of those, but they looked fab. The mimosas kept a’flowin and the staff was incredibly sweet and helpful. I had an amazing time here and will be back again! The only thing I can say is that the music selection was a little off, a DJ would have been cool to have, but I’m not sure if this particular part of the neighborhood would allow such thing for Sunday Brunch. Maybe I just wanted to hear party music cause of my birthday mood. Nonetheless, I had a spectacular time here! The owner Martin seemed busy running the place but always made sure to check on our party and the rest of the staff were very accommodating. Until next time!

Bizarre, man. We went for weekday lunch, the place was dead. After we ordered our waiter, who identified himself as the general manager, said he had forgotten to tell us that the items we ordered were no longer on the menu. We took some time to find other options. When my girlfriend ordered a second time the guy apologized again because he had forgotten to tell us that the tacos no longer come in chicken.(Dude, the menu is in ordinary font on 8.5×11″ paper. Print an accurate one.) The crab cake sliders were respectable(menu said romaine, wasn’t any). Nachos were pretty good(menu said guac, wasn’t any). I have no idea how their ceviche is normally because when it came to our table our waiter informed us that they were out and he hadn’t wanted to tell us that so he whipped some up himself and that’s what he served us.(Menu said shrimp, wasn’t any.) When we asked for guac for the nachos he picked up the menu, scrutinized it and said«Really? These come with guac?» He then proceeded to make it himself.(You can see into the kitchen.) The only reason I’m not giving this one star is because he comped us a large portion of our meal, which was a gracious thing to do. He also said they don’t officially open until March so, hey, maybe it’s just growing pains. But with a general manager that doesn’t update his menu, doesn’t remember to tell clients about menu changes, isn’t particularly familiar with the menu, brings alternate dishes because he’s embarrassed to tell you he’s out of an item, and doesn’t keep his restaurant well stocked… I’m skeptical about whether this place will improve.

Is it possible to give 0 stars? One star might be an overstatement. Wait time to take our order: 1 hour seriously??? Time to get our Starters: 1hr ½ seriously??? It wasn’t any busier than a regular breakfast joint plus we made reservations ahead of time as well. These people are a mess and don’t know how to run a busy restaurant. How does the couple that arrived 1 hour later get their food before us??? We kept being told«the kitchen is a little backed up» … well how come everyone is getting their food before us??? I would advise going somewhere else, there’s way too many great brunch places in Los Angeles to spend your money at an establishment like this. It seemed to me they get really nervous around big parties. They run around like chickens without their heads. We walked out after 3 hours and they weren’t sure when we would get our food. Worst experience I’ve ever had at any restaurant by far. I don’t expect this place to stay open for much longer, «unlimited mimosas» are not going to keep them in business for very long. They will be quickly taken out by the competition surrounding this vicinity.

A few friends and I came here for dinner on a sunday night over a holiday wknd. It seemed promising with a drink special for the night and really good tapas menu. However, when we got there, it didn’t live up to expectations. We ordered 4 apps and 2 of them came after the entrée. Also, we were literally the only table there… no other customers@@! As for the food, it was just ok. The«signature» wings were not executed well — it wasn’t spicy at all and too overly sweet. Also, some of them were under cooked… it wasn’t crispy and the core was cold. The other apps were ok — the fried oysters were fine but it was a bit confusing — the bed of salt that it was served on was a bit weird… The highlight app was the yellowtail jalapeño crudo… it was really good. As for the mains, the chicken dish is AWESOME — well seasoned, well priced, and good portion size. The shift manager did make up for some of the execution errors by giving us some dessert gratis… but by then we were a bit too disappointed… Not sure if I’d come back again… maybe for brunch.

Everything i wanted in a Sunday brunch. Fun music, fun servers, and Judson the bartender was especially attentive.(It’s like he reads minds)… Feels like relaxing on a warm, backyard patio, lounging –drink in hand — with good friends on a breezy Sunday afternoon.. . As for food, they offer an eclectic and tasty menu, from Chicken & Waffles to the perfect Eggs Benedict to a light Cocoa Lobster Crêpe. On the spicy side, they have light Chipotle Scrambled Egg Tostada. We tried them all. We loved them all. Drinks drinks drinks. bottomless mimosas were tasty and delicious… It’s like my night hadn’t ended. Or has it just begun?

Definitely a place to go for Sunday Funday. Good food, good music, great location, and awesome service. Brunch has been more of a lifestyle lately for me and its something I look forward to at the end of a crazy weekend. But what I don’t look forward to is waiting in LINE, busy restaurants and overrated food. With that being said, My dear friend crystal had invited me to this great place that just opened! and she did not let me down. From the moment we sat down, to the time that we left, I kept thinking, I am definitely going to come back to this place again. There was no wait, and the service was amazing. I highly recommend, the Mimosa special, a full bottle of champagne with fresh juices and and fresh variety of fruits to add to your mimosa. Champagne not your thing? then the Bloody marys are excellent. as far as food goes, I definitely recommend the Chicken and waffles. A sensible and delicious portion goes a long way! and the icing on the cake… I just have to say, the waiters aren’t that bad to look at ;)
