Open air WAS super dope, BUT they have since shut down. We went this past Sunday looking to partake in the glorious bottomless mimosas and day-club type atmosphere, but unfortunately, the place has been obliterated. There was a sign indicating that they failed their health qualifications & were shut down due to it. The news of their demise truly hurt mine & my squads beautiful hearts not just because we had called a few days prior to reserve a section for some celebrating, but Open Air was one of the few bottomless mimosa brunch spots that has that day-club vibe. It had a DJ, large windows & an open roof that was perfect for those magically delicious warm LA days, the staff was always cool & mad laid back with us, the social scene was always diverse & fly, it was mad spacious so you never felt that you had to be on some mission impossible shit tryin to navigate through crowds n’ shit & it def had enough space for you & ya crew to do all your lit ass dances in your area… It truly was a glorious spot. I don’t know what that building is going to become now, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it will be another Open Air just with a different name, different management, and you know, different standards/ethics that actually allow them to pass health qualifications n’ shit. For anyone else who is bummed about Open Air’s death, wipe those tears away & check out Brick+Mortar in Santa Monica. It’s one of those few other mimosa brunch spots that be super lit with a DJ& beautiful people. Be happy everyone. Bless u all !

Horrible customer service and there is no accountability when something is wrong. No order should take an hour and a half fulfill. Busy or not. Excuses for bad customer service is never acceptable. I won’t be back to this establishment and their piss poor customer service.

One of my favorite Brunch place in Los Angeles. Good Bottomless Mimosa, the music is always great(Live DJ playing hip hop on Sunday) The crowd is on point. Always a good time. The food is not amazing, I’ve never really enjoyed my food but it’s alright for the price and I go for the ambiance and mimosa more than the food. I recommend this place if you are a group of people who wants to party under the sun.

I met friends here yesterday to watch the broncos/pats game. The interior is beautiful and in between Melrose ave and Sunset. We ordered chicken and waffles(my first time having them) and I was blown away by how beautiful the presentation was. The Chicken came with a peach jelly and the waffles were perfect. Along with bottomless mimosas, a wood fire made pizza and Bloody Mary’s it was the ideal way to end the weekend.

Although we’ve never been here before this weekend on a Sunday, we typically like the environment of good music, open ceiling, etc. However, I was beyond disappointed this past weekend. We couldn’t find it on Open Table to make a reservation, so we figured we would just walk in since it normally isn’t very busy. A group of 8 at noon, the hostess laughed at us when we told her we didn’t have a reservation. There were about 10 empty tables, but a handful had a «reserved» sign on them. We put in our name and went to the bar. *the female bartender with the tattoos was incredibly nice so the 1 star doesn’t apply to her. Had she sat us when we arrived, we would’ve been done, when 90 minutes later a few large parties finally showed up. She promised us that we would have the combined 4 top and 2 top that another party was at. 90 minutes later, that party gets up, we go to sit down, and they remove the 2 top from us. Now there is 9 people sitting at a 4 top, and 2 without chairs. She gave us no indication that half the table would be taken away. Nothing was done about the chairs, so we all squeezed, starved at this point. Took about a half hour more to get a server. Another hour later, half the plates were cold, and we didn’t even receive all of our meals. On top of that, we only received one«bottomless mimosa» refill during that entire time. Had you kept our buzz going, we probably wouldn’t have been so enraged. It’s pretty obvious that they need to staff more on Sunday’s, comp a few items if 9 people are squeezed at a 4 top, and train the hostess to be a little courteous, since this restaurant is typically pretty empty. If it wasn’t going to be possible to seat us, a little communication would’ve been much appreciated.

We waited two hours for a table… To be seated 8people around one tiny table with only 6 seats. We asked the hostess, waitress, and manager numerous times for more chairs but they never came. The food took well over an hour and one person never even got their food. We paid for bottomless mimosas and only got 2 refills. Terrible service, rude staff, never coming back.

I don’t know where to start, first of the drinks were discussing. This is the place to go to get fuck up and have your mimosas or beer. Bartender can’t even do a cocktail from the menu. I waited 30 min. When I sat down the table was dirty and waited 1 hour for my food which the order was wrong then another 10 min for ketchup. I will never come back here. The only good thing was the music.

This place is god awful! Ok, so we made reservations, and we watched as the hostess allowed random people to sit at the available tables while we stood for an hr before being seated at the time we were reserved. After confronting the hostess, we were seated at a dirty table. We requested they clean the table, never happened so one person in our party, went to the bar and got a rag and we cleaned our own table!(We were hungry as hell) We literally were there for 2 hrs without being served the food we ordered! Then after talking to the manager, we got our cold/old truffle fries… Awful. Do NOTGOHERE!

As I’m writing this review I am STILL waiting on my food. I have been waiting on a mimosa refill for 35 minutes and for my food for over an hour. The waitress then brings us a plate of French fries that are cold and her reason is that someone quit. One person quitting shouldn’t make such a big difference unless his the only cook. This is the worse service ever!!! We are trying to celebrate our friends bday and feel horrible that he is not enjoying himself. Only one of our friends got her food and we had to stare as we have nothing. The only good thing here is the music. Thanks a lot for this horrible experience. Thanks to the table next to us we were able to get mimosas from their pitcher. So after 3 hours we decided to leave with an empty stomach.

3 – 4 stars. I came here briefly for a mixer and though I did not care for the people I was to mix with… The bar is nice and simple :) I didn’t eat or drink here, but I would be open to coming back. Located in a fun area!

Well, when we first walked up there was a nice pile of vomit right on the side of the building so that was nice. We were here for a client’s party, which was lovely. But this review is for the FOOD. The food took FOREVER to get. As multiple reviewers mentioned. They were not exaggerating! First, it was near impossible to get someone to take our food order. We arrived about 1pm and did not get our food until about 3pm!!! It took so long that I considered having them cancel our food and just pick up something on the way home. I ordered the Truffle Fries and the Breakfast pizza. The pizza was about 12inch. Definitely could have shared with 2 friends. The Truffle fries tasted like plain fries. I would just order plain fries. Nothing special about their Truffle Fries. They weren’t even salty enough. The Breakfast pizza wasn’t too bad but it was a little under cooked but I was so hungry I ate half of it. I felt horrible afterwards. And I did not drink. The actual building is nice and open. It was a very cloudy day but there was still a lot of light coming in which was nice. It wasn’t stuffy or anything, almost cozy actually. Overall, I would never come here to eat. Service is the worst. For other reasons, I’m sure it’s great.

The food was great, the drinks were good, the dj was awesome but our service was the worst! We sat down and waited for at least 20 minutes until someone asked if we were ready to order drinks, I responded«maybe we can get menus first?». She never brought menus, so I had to get up and get them myself. Then we finally ordered and the food came out and we waited another 15 minutes for silver wear, until I had to get up and find it myself again. Eventually our waitress disappeared and some other girl attempted to take care of the table. Eventually the chef came out too see if we needed drinks. Not sure what the heck was going on but my first experience was awful.

NOTE: Did not try food, this is a review based on the environment and drinks. This is an awesome Sunday spot to get your drink on! Fun bartenders and lots of rap mash ups create a fun environment, but as always the crowd makes the party . I would recommend hitting this spot from 12 – 3PM on a weekend if your in the day drinking mood. Definitely a must try in the WEHO area for anyone looking for a party

Love this place. Brunch is the bomb! My friends and I love meeting up here to chillax, listen to good music, and drink. In the summer it gets a lol warm so make sure to dress appropriately. The servers and host and bartenders are super friendly and very accommodating!

I really enjoyed myself up until witnessing this random event. As I’m in line for the bathroom, 3 girls locked themselves into the bathroom stall and subjected the rest of the line to a loud and vulgar threesome on the dirty tile floor. We banged on the door. We pleaded with them to open up and do their dirt somewhere else so we could at least use the restroom. Nobody obliged. And one participant who we affectionately call«side boob» yelled over the wall that we were abusing her sexual rights. The biggest problem here is not the fact that these 3 shameless girls used the bathroom for an impromptu orgy. But imagine my surprise when«side boob» opens the door just to tell everyone to «calm down because she works here.» It doesn’t matter whether«side boob» is lying or not. The fact that this establishment would 1. Allow this to happen while patrons are outside eating or 2. Allow someone to assume a representative role of their organization without removing said imposter from the premises. It’s been a hour and I’m still unimpressed with how poorly the situation has been handled. Side boob +2 were kicked out for about 5 minutes, but they’re back inside. And headed back to the bathroom. 1 star for the chicken and waffles. But. here’s to finding a new brunch spot.

Went here on a Saturday for brunch and it’s just ok. With so many brunch options in LA, you can find better. It’s usually a large crowd there and there’s music playing. They do have TV’s usually showing sporting events. This place attracts large crowds bc they have the tables to accommodate. The bottomless mimosas were $ 15 if you buy an entrée. They also have a full bar. The food was good. Nothing spectacular but worth the money. I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken didn’t really have any flavor but ehhh. The Brussels sprouts are good and the garlic truffle fries. I’ll only go back if a group of friends really wanted to.

The space is great and I like how they have an open ceiling but unfortunately I did not like the service. I came here for a friend’s brunch last Sunday and I don’t know if it was because we were such a big party or if they were short staffed but they weren’t very attentive to us. We had about 4 different people helping us and they kept forgetting our drink orders, utensils, etc. The servers were nice about it but they just kept forgetting the things we asked for. We had to keep reminding them so many times. Food was okay. I ordered the chicken and waffles. I liked the waffles and the orange marmalade that they put on top of the chicken but the chicken itself was a little dry. The mimosas were delicious though, if anything go for the brunch drink specials. They played great music too, so that helped a bit.

I honestly had a blast here. Came for my friend Matt’s brunch and we had a REALLY good time. TBH, tho, I didn’t try any of the food. It was all mimosas and dancing. Lots of hot girls and the staff is full of really pretty ladies as well.

Had brunch here on a Saturday for an engagement party and the service was excellent. We had bottomless mimosas and the servers were on top of the refills. Mac and cheese was delicious and the chicken sandwich was good. The pizzas looked really good so I will definitely have to come back and try them.

This place is a great«whenever» spot, although I prefer it during the day or for happy hour. The food is good(not great), and drinks are generically made and priced. Brunch: Bottomless mimosas, bloody mary bar. Good food selection, and I highly recommend the chicken & waffles. Happy Hour: Ohhh happy hour. This place gets it right. Everything on the HH menu is like $ 5. Drinks, and a decent selection of food items(like a smaller version of their burger, which is great but ALWAYS over-cooked). TV’s galore for watching sports, and a fantastic open-roof patio for enjoying the LA weather. Service is sometimes a bit slow as it often seems like they are understaffed, but everyone is super friendly and upbeat.

I came in on Sunday Fun Day for some endless mimosas. For $ 15 with the purchase of an entrée, you get unlimited mimosas. Let me tell you, I am writing this review the morning after and can still feel my head pounding. The mimosas were yummy but man they are a creeper! We came in around 1PM and the host immediately told us that they were booked up for the entire day. One of my friends comes in often and they accommodated to seat us at a table that is supposed to fit five. We made it work but we were really crammed. FOOD: You get a bowl of complimentary popcorn next to the dj stand. You can get as much as you’d like. The popcorn is on the saltier side but it’s a good thing to snack on while sipping on your mimosas. We were the last table to get a bowl of popcorn since they ran out of bowls… Food wise, I ordered the chicken kale caesar salad and a side of the truffle fries. Kale salad was standard — fresh kale and had a nice bite to it. It was served with parmesan cheese, croutons, and a poached egg. Chicken was really soggy as well as the croutons. I think they put too much dressing onto the salad so it made all of the other ingredients soft. The poached egg added a nice touch to the salad by giving it some richness from the yolk. 3⁄5 Serving size was decent. I wasn’t able to kill the entire salad. As for the truffle fries, they were probably the best thing I ate during the meal. Crunchy and thin fries dressed with truffles and parmesan. 4⁄5 Very small portion of fries though. My boyfriend got the chicken and waffles which were adorable! They present you the chicken and waffles on a board and there are several small ones. It is served with orange butter and sage. The chicken was on the drier side and the orange butter added a citrusy notes to the dish. They definitely used a lot of orange zest because it really shined through. The waffle batter was relatively bland as well. 2⁄5 To compensate for the fact that service was extremely slow, they gave us a complimentary breakfast pizza. I like the poached egg in the middle of the pizza. Dough was on the thinner side and there wasn’t much of it either. 3⁄5 But it was a nice gesture. SERVICE: They definitely need some work. For a busy Sunday, they only had four servers. Everything was slammed. From the front of the house, the bussers, and the kitchen staff. Everyone just seemed so overwhelmed and unorganized. They ran out of almost everything too. They ran out of champagne glasses, so we had to drink our mimosas out of regular cups. My friend also ordered a beer flight and one of the beers were out of stock so he had to get a different kind of beer. And then they ran out of the popcorn bowls. They seriously need to order some more things for their restaurant. Lastly, this place needs some air conditioner. For an «open air», all I felt was heat. I was so dehydrated from drinking already, this place made me feel worse. I turned into a bright red tomato!

Service 101 — don’t serve 4 out of the 5 guests and leave one hanging. The server was very good otherwise, so I think I should pin this one on the kitchen. Luckily, the breakfast pizza(I substituted tomato for the bacon since I am a veg) was delicious and enough for two meals. My friends said the mimosas tasted a little off, so I passed on the bottomless. The ceiling opens(hence the name), so be forewarned and wear some sunscreen. DJ was playing, a mix I found a little weird for brunch, but the place seemed to be buzzing along.

The name may have changed but the food is the same. In fact if you look, you can still see the fatty logo on some of their windows! I’ve always wanted to like Open Air Kitchen and Bar. It’s right across the street from Wat Po Thai and I always think let’s go across the street while we’re so relaxed and have something to drink and a bite to eat. This place though, it just doesn’t live up to any of my expectations. I think there are certain things about the place that are clever when it comes to marketing(love the make your own bloody mary bar), but the actual execution when it comes down to taste is so lacking. My most recent trip I tried the pizzas, burger, chicken and waffle and fried pickles. Everything fell flat and the fried pickles weren’t even cooked through, can you imagine taking a bite and just having liquid batter in your mouth? I mean those suckers don’t even take long to cook! So disappointed, hopefully the next thing that pops up there will be better.

Positive –nice ambiance –good sauce for French fries Negative –wildly understaffed for dinner, only server was also the bartender –crazy slow service: only 9 patrons in a place that can sit 100+, took 30+ for food –food on the bland side of flavorful. –kitchen puts parsley on food that’s supposed to have cilantro –bathrooms are a DISASTER. Signs that say«don’t flush». Wet mop. WTF? You have nearly unlimited options in LA, this should not be one of them.

Really good deal to come here for Happy Hour! It used to be another restaurant that I’ve been to and enjoyed, so decided to give this one a try. I really like the open-air seating area. All restaurants should be like this in LA, since it’s only going to get drier, right? In any case, tried: 1. Kale salad — quite a big dish, liked the light dressing, pine nuts, tomatoes; well-done 2. Wings — man, these were spicy, but delicious! comes with carrots and celery 3. Burger — I really liked it! Get medium or medium-rare, because they tend to over-cook their burgers a big; it was well-flavored, great bun, and great sauce; I like this the best of what I ordered 4. Truffle fries — it’s exactly the way it should be; not overly salted, but with strong truffle flavor and a delicious dipping sauce I live around here, so it’s perfect to come here for the cheap happy hour.
