Just as their website URL notes, I LOVETASTE! Parking: There was street parking around, which was not too hard to find. Ambiance: It is a very unique layout for a restaurant, with a brand new back patio/section(indoor & outdoor). I would recommend this place for a nice dinner for a special occasion or a first date. Staff: We sat at the bar and our bartender was awesome! Sadly, I am awful with remembering names, but he was very friendly, informative, and easy to talk to. Food: We each ordered the Dinner Prix Fixe menu, which is an incredible price for the amount of food you get. 3 courses for $ 28 with a glass of house wine for $ 7! Kale & Persimmon Caesar Salad: Delicious! The roasted garlic ciabatta croutons really kicked up this salad a notch and paired well with the persimmons. Crispy Parmasean Chicken Paillard: This was incredibly tasty. I enjoy a good«fried chicken» and the outside crust was the perfect amount of crispy and not too heavily coated with breading. The garlic potato purée was delicious and creamy and the salad was quite good as well. Chocolate Brioche Bread Pudding: I was honestly so full after the first 2 dishes but I just HAD to finish the dessert. I’m a huge fan of brioche bread and the dessert was phenomenal. A+ to Taste & their staff! I will be coming back soon!

Worse service !! When I asked about their drinks menu the waiter answered by pointing at the red menu with a very sarcastic face opening his eyes and noting his head extremely unprofessional When I asked about the ingredients he seemed annoyed Waited about 15 minutes to order Even when the waiter kept walking by my table but he was very attentive to a couple sitting across i felt like he was trying to avoid me. The waiter never came back to check on me to ask if i needed a refill or if i was interested in dessert and lastly give me the check i had to walk & look for someone to ring me up. The food was good but not worth the snotty attitude and terrible service There was a guy name ARMANDO(who apparently was only a runner) he was the only one who cater and went above and beyond with the service i am so disappointed. Will not be coming back again!

My wonderful woman brought me here for my birthday dinner and I felt it was necessary to write a well deserving five star review. First off, we were late and they were incredibly accommodating. Then there’s the food… Everything we ordered was AMAZING! Just get the mussels… Do it. Truffle Mac? Awesome… Cajun Shrimp and Grits? Yes! Chicken Paillard? So crispy and perfect. Then the bday cake indulgence with that salted caramel gelato. Spectacular. Our waiter was spot on with a great sense of humor. The ambiance was dark and moody but contemporary and welcoming. Very nice. When all was said and done, we were escorted out with smiles and handshakes. And a gift card? Absolutely a gift card. I’ll be back soon.

Such a cute spot on Melrose. Been here for dinner before, but came for drinks on Sunday and luckily it was happy hour which is from 4 – 6 pm. Everything on their happy hour is $ 6 and it’s a huge selection! Different cocktails and food items to choose from. I got the strawberry basil cocktail and mango margarita. I also shared the chicken salad sandwiches with my friend. Will def be back for happy hour!

Why have I never heard of this place?!? I’ve gone through several places on Unilocal and bookmarked way too many for my own good, but somehow Taste on Melrose slipped through the cracks. I love the food, the service, the location, and just the overall feel of the place. There was a brief wait on Friday night, but it was well worth it. You get a lot of food for what you pay. We started off with the complimentary bread, which comes with a dip. I’m not sure what the dip was, but delicious. We then had the Calamari… sooo freakin goooood. We finished every single piece on our plates. None for the dumpster at this place! My dinner was the Kobe Beef Meatballs… I’m not ashamed to say that I finished the entire plate. The serving portion was quite big, but it was too good not to finish. The dish consisted of Wagyu American Beef, Golden Raisins, Caramelized Onions, White Truffle Cheese Fondue, Pomodoro sauce, Linguine, Pine Nuts, Parmigiano, Pecorino Romano. I highly recommend ordering this dish. My friend had the steak. I can say it was great from the bite that I had of his. I thought the service was great. We didn’t have to wait long for our food after placing our order with the waitress. She was consistent as far as coming to check up on us. My water was filled without ever having to ask. At the end, she brought the dessert menu, but we didn’t leave any room in our stomachs for that. I’ll be sure to give a look the next time I’m in for another delicious experience. I recommend valet parking your vehicle on a busy night, or else you could be driving around for a while trying to find a spot. Give this place a try. I guarantee you’ll want to go back. I sure do… like right now.

The most stuck up restaurant I’ve ever been to. I came on a whim and from the minute I walked in the door I felt like I was being judged. This is a restaurant that you need to wear your hipster-best to feel accepted. That being said, I felt like everyone I encountered from the valet to the waitress was looking down their nose at me the whole time. And don’t get me started on the slow service… The ambiance was nice, and the wait staff seemed well trained, but the food left much to be desired. For the prices I was expecting a food experience. Instead, I got salty mac and cheese that burned my tongue, and left hungry. The Parmesan chicken was pretty good, but nothing I couldn’t make at home. Overall, It wasn’t worth it. I wish I would’ve passed by and eaten somewhere else.

Let me keep it real: Ambiance: They have a hip, updated look and feel which is cool. Waiters have Jean shirts with suspenders if that helps you get the vibe. It’s branded as a lifestyle sort of place, so don’t come in too casual. You will be judged, and it will show by the lack of attention your waiter shows… Service: The waiters are pleasant, but they cater towards regulars. If you’re new prepare to wait right up to the point where your irritation face sets in. Food: Don’t get the pasta. It had no taste at all. It seems as though their food has 2 extremes. Super salty to compensate for the lack of properly utilized spices or so bland that you definitively feel that you wasted calories on pure texture. 2 stars for the smiling waitress and ambiance. I’ll pass on the food.

This place is great. Beautiful décor and ambiance. Best tortilla soup I’ve had in my life — seriously. Friendly waitstaff, great location, beautiful environment. And I love that they have a 2-course pre-fixe option for $ 24. It’s a really great price and delicious food. Only con was the margarita could have been better, but that’s really just because the food was so amazing that it pales in comparison.

I had really high expectations for this place, but sadly it was a disappointment. Service: SOSLOW. Our waitress came by so little and just kept asking us if we wanted to buy more things. Ambience: classy, but so dark. Very little lighting but very intimate. Not good for groups bigger than 6 Food: new American, it was okay. The food was tasty, but the portions were very small. Parking: it’s weho, so street. There’s valet parking in the lot, but it’s not worth the price Overall: won’t come here again and wouldn’t recommend it. It was a disappointment for a place with such good reviews.

We went to Taste on Melrose for lunch today. I had a Club Sandwich on toast with mixed greens and my friend had Penne Cecca Pasta with shrimp. As the picture shows, the Club Sandwich was closer to the original version of club sandwiches, with only two, rather than three, slices of bread, which is probably better for modern preferences. When we go out for lunch, my friend very seldom eats her whole lunch, but she liked her Penne Cecca Pasta so much that she ate the whole thing.(I always eat my whole lunch.)

Been here a couple of times now, and Taste is tasty. So far I have had: grilled cheese with short rib, the prosciutto and asparagus pasta and the kobe beef burger. The pasta has been my favorite so far — it had great flavor without being too heavy on the cream. The grilled cheese and fries were savory and delicious, and I like that you can«build your own.» The Kobe burger was okay — just not great. I enjoyed it but would not necessarily having a «craving» for it in the future. You definitely get a lot of food for your money and the service has been great. I have only been here for lunch, but I hear this place is packed for dinner and brunch.

Came for a quick lunch with a friend. I ordered a pomegranate champagne drink. Wasn’t that good but I ordered another one, which I regret. I was recommended the chicken apple salad– it was good, and the portion was big so it’s great for sharing! The waitress wasn’t good at all! I would expect better service from this place. It’s not a nice feeling to be watched every 2 mins to see if we’re ready for the check– we didn’t even ask for it!!! There were only 5 tables in the whole restaurant, why the rush?! Let people enjoy their lunch if you see they’re taking the time and talking. She took the dessert menu away, which I’d actually consider if she would’ve gave us 10 more minutes… 3 stars for the great food but not so great service.

I mean wow! Came to this place over the weekend without really expecting much. During DineLA weeks seems like its the best time to select a few spots and stop by to visit. This was you get to try the location out for customer service, food quality, and location. This place hits all 3 out of the ballpark. First, the food here was great, everything was made to order and the flavor of each dish was really different yet well prepared. I began with the Bean soup which was nicely filled with beans(obviously) kate, carrots, and few other veggies. The broth was nicely warm to taste and not salty. I followed it up with the Steak and potatos. The steak was medium well and crispy on the outside and still juicy on the inside. The potatos were a stage right before being cooked too little which was perfect. Gave them a thicker and less mushy consistency. Finally I ended with their fudge bread pudding… this was amazing. I am not big on chocolate but this taste was very different for a bread pudding yet it blended well. The location is nice and quite area of Beverly Hills and the customer service here was great. Very friendly and attentive staff. They showed us their new area out back which they host private events and/or happy hours which I plan to at some point return to visit. I will be back to this place for sure. We really enjoyed it and happy its not too far from our neighborhood! Well done all involved in this restaurant!

Taste on Melrose is a cute, quirky place. I’ve been here for dineLA twice, and it’s definitely a safe place to go for Restaurant Week! This particular time I went with a girlfriend for the $ 15 lunch special. The kobe meatball sandwich was delicious and super filling. The appetizer dish was not as memorable, I don’t even know what it was but I liked the meatball sub so all is forgiven. All of their regular brunch menu options sounded amazing too like the lobster benedict or the lobster mac n cheese. My tip is to get the bottomless mimosas for $ 16(more expensive than the food haha!). They are on top of the refills for the mimosas! Our waitress would literally top off my mimosa every time it went to half full. It’s pretty dangerous but at least you’ll get your money’s worth! You can valet park or just find street parking. There are usually plenty of spaces in the surrounding neighborhood, you just have to search a little. Interestingly, two people on either side of me had to complain to the waitress about how their eggs in their eggs benedicts were overdone, but they were able to send the food back and get it properly cooked.

I went here earlier for a Dine L. A dinner with couple of friends. Our reservation is at 9:30pm. My couple friends arrived 10 mins prior the reserved time and were not seated at the reserved table because our group were not«complete» yet. They were seated at the bar, which looks modern and sophisticated by the way. When I arrived, they finally let us sit at our table. Not all the tables were given generous spaces. Me and my friend sitting next to me were almost elbowing each other while eating. I’ve seen some tables with decent spaces though. I guess we could’ve requested to move to another table but the place was so busy and crowded, I don’t think there’s any available tables to transfer anyway. Drinks are kinda pricey. I ordered their Sangria and I loved it. My friends also loved their drinks. So I guess, you get what you paid for. My friend purchased the wine pairing for $ 20. I didn’t like it because the choices are very limited. They literally pair it with whatever you’re going to order and there’s only 1 choice per dish. For starters, I ordered their Arugula with quinoa salad. I wish there’s more zest to their supposedly lemon vinaigrette. For main course, I ordered their medium flat iron steak. It was good, except the outer part of the steak was burnt. It comes with truffle kohlrabi gratin as a side dish, which is delicious. I also ordered Daquois for dessert and I so loved it I could eat more! Nice ambience. Very modern and trendy. This seems like one of those restaurants that was a house before and was bought to turn into a restaurant. The front area of the restaurant was claustrophobic but the outdoor seating as well as the back side is super cool and trendy. I’m giving a 3 stars because of the tight space, the burnt flat iron steak and for not seating us right away despite most of us arriving on time.

I recently came here for DineLA restaurant week. I love the ambiance, very quaint. Their DineLA prix fixe dinner menu looked appetizing for $ 29. I was very pleased. Service was great, food was equally awesome. I had the braised short ribs appetizer, great flavor. I opted for the flat iron steak entrée. Steak was cooked perfectly and the truffle kohlrabi gratin side was delicious! Their sweet potato fries were really yummy too. I’m normally not a fan of bread pudding but their chocolate brioche bread pudding was fantastic. I would definitely come back to try more items on their menu.

Brunch is an automatic one star for me :) Really cute place. Open atmosphere although it was a bit humid when I went. They offer bottomless mimosas but ya girl can’t take advantage of that since I’m super light weight. LOL so it’s a waste for me but still nice. Overall a cute brunch place to stop by before heading out and about.

After spending the day in LA and wanting to get some dinner before going to Milk, my friend and I decided to eat here. We were able to get a table without a reservation, which was really great! The restaurant itself was really cute. It looked really hipster. The lighting was dim. Each table had a candle. They also had some string lights around the ceiling, which was adorable. They have valet parking, but it costs $ 6.50. There was a lot of available street parking spaces that costs a few dollars for two hours. Truffle Mac and Cheese: This was good, but not out of this world good. The cheese was gooey and stringy with a strong truffle taste, which I liked. The pasta shells were bland if you weren’t able to get it with some of the cheese. I wish the cheese sauce was saucier. It did have mushrooms though, which is always great. Sunchoke Rissoto with Chicken Breast: The chicken breast was amazing! I thought that the rissoto was good, but I probably wouldn’t order it again. Kobe Beef Dumplings: The insides were so soft and flavorful. I liked the texture of the dumplings. The service was okay. I wasn’t really impressed… The food took a long time to come out. We got our mac and cheese after waiting around twenty minutes, then had to wait another twenty minutes after that to get our entrees. Overall, I think that Taste on Melrose is good to try, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here again.

One star for their fries. The customer service here was atrocious. First of all, we got seated and no one came by to ask us what we wanted to drink. Then we see not one, but two waitresses go to the two tables right next to us that were seated AFTER us and get them drinks and take their orders. My boyfriend had to practically yell to get someone’s attention. Completely unacceptable. We ordered the kobe burger, chicken salad sandwich, and mushroom sandwich, which were all very average. The soda was also filled up completely to the brim with ice, which left little room for the soda. Sorry, but this place sucks. Don’t know what everyone is rating them for for them to have 4 stars on Unilocal. Will never return.

Its a hipster restaurant with some fancy and interesting dishes. Sometimes in WeHo, the fancy dishes don’t end up coming together. Not so here! Everything we tried was wonderful! A group of ladies and I came for brunch. I got the pork belly Benedict which was magical. We also got the mac and cheese appetizer– cause why not? The only dish we did not enjoy was the french toast. It was really basic and not very tasty. Service was good– especially the bar tender who told us about the excellent drink choices for brunch. Just saying– bottomless is a littler on the pricer side($ 19) I think– but they have lots of options to choose from. Its not watered down with OJ, they give you fresh OJ or others– I asked for pomegranate juice. Service was a little slow, but its brunch. Overall– a great find!
