I was very disappointed in the recommendation the employee behind the wine tasting counter provided. I asked for a sweet red, so he said they just had a wine tasting for a sweet red. I asked how much was the wine and the attendant gave me the price which was a little more than what I wanted to pay, so he recommended a Villa Negra. The Villa Negra was the exact opposite of what I was looking for.
I’m not too sure if he was having an off day, but if this store is specializing in wine, they should know the difference between a sweet and a dry.

Definitely my go-​to spot to pick up a nice bottle of vino for the weekend or just to add to the collection. My boyfriend and I religiously come here on Saturday afternoons for their wine tastings and typically get at least a bottle from the selection. The staff is very knowledgeable and very friendly! At this point, I should know their names since I see them weekly. :)
If you are looking for beer or a larger selection of liquor, I would suggest going somewhere else since this place is primarily wine only. However, my boyfriend does like their scotch and whiskey selection a lot. Lastly, if you go back to the corner (opposite end of the liquor wall) they have a nice «under $ 10» section and I’ve had some luck there.

Decent store, just not my kind of place… probably because the beer section is so small. Their main focus is wine, plus some high-​end spirits. They have a good selection of scotch, but IMO their prices are higher than average. Staff is friendly and the store is always spotless.

When I lived in West Hartford, West Side Wines was where I went for wine. Since I have moved I don’t get there quite as often, but when I stop in I realize why it was always my favorite place for wine… really great customer service.
You only need to give them a vague idea of what you are looking for and a price point and they take care of the rest. I’m planning a Spanish tasting and Rob selected 4 wines for me that will go perfectly with my tapas. These guys really know their stuff.

This is small trendy shop. You can enter through the back door. The back door opens into the Whole foods parking lot, so if you are looking for convenience and you shop at Wholefoods, it is a good fit.
This store is in my opinion primarily a wine shop. I visited and was immediately assisted by a helpful employee.

They stepped up their game here for sure. I can’t say ordering a special bottle is any easier, though. I haven’t tried again since my first encounter with these guys.
They do tastings from time to time. They also have a small but heady selection of whisky, including a few indy bottlings of single malt and a nice range of cheap-​but-​good spirits to expensive-​and-​awesome ones.
I can’t think of much else to say; small review for a small store, I guess.
