Papa John’s

I just had their pizza for the last time. I decided to try someone new. Next time, I’ll do it by the slice and save my money. Chuckie Cheese has better pizza!!!

I live near the area and got a coupon for 50% off online, regular prices. I ordered two pizzas: one thin crust, one regular– and cheese sticks.
Not much flavor. Extremely bland. And not enough cheese. I know extra cheese is extra, but the «normal» cheese didn’t even cover the pizza in most spots. They give you the free Pepperoncinis and garlic sauce for a reason. (Hint — this stuff is bland… pasty even). And my kid hated it. A growing boy refusing pizza? He actually asked me too cook something for him. Craziness.
I should have realized how «eh» this pizza was when I logged in to my account… the last time I ordered from this chain I was pregnant, living in Phoenix, with not ONE decent Chicago-​type pizza places, years ago… and anything at that point tasted fabulous. Certainly not now. Go to Pizza Hut if you want a chain pizzeria. Avoid both if you’re smart. And I will honestly never order from this place or this chain again.

We were excited to see a Papa John’s Pizza opening near our house. Unfortunately our first experience with this new location was not a good one. We ordered a large mushroom and pepperoni pizza for carry out. We brought the pizza home and were so disappointed to find a mushroom and pineapple (?) pizza in the box. The label on the outside of the box was correct, the pizza was not. We called the store, told them about the error, we got a generic apology from the girl who answered the phone and we were told that they ran out of mushrooms, could not remake the pizza, and offered us 50% off our next order. She offered no solution the current situation, no offer to replace the mushroom with another topping, no offer to deliver the correct pizza to us. WE had to ask if they could replace our wrong pizza for another pizza with different toppings. First of all, how do you run out of mushrooms this early in the evening (7pm), can’t 1 of the 8 employees working run to Jewel Osco for more mushrooms? Secondly, that was just absolutely awful customer service over the phone, although the manager did apologize when we went to pick up the replacement pizza. I give this first experience 1 star, minus 1 star for getting our pizza wrong the first time, minus another star for running out of mushrooms, and minus 2 stars for the poor customer service.
