Hospitality was outstanding. The staff was friendly, helpful and possitive. Check in was quick even after ten pm. Room was clean quiet and comfortable. Free internet with no log in. Continental breakfast was descent. Plenty of restaraunt nearby. Just off the interstate. APR and AAA Discounts work. Funny though when I called in the discounts didn’t apply. However the desk gave the discount to me.

I booked this room based off of the Marriott reputation. I was not disappointed. Very professional staff, and comfortable room. Easy on and off the interstate.

Got a deal on Priceline for this hotel. I would never pay full price. The bed was fine, bathroom clean, but nothing better than a Motel 6 or a Super 8. Pool is so small, it’s like a large bath tub. The day we went to go swimming it was full of 7 – 8 unattended children screaming & splashing. Breakfast was very basic. Coffee ran out and I was told to drink decaf instead. We requested a King bed, but when we got to our room, it was 2 Queens and we were too tired to complain. Again nothing horrific, but not worth the normal charge.

Got a great online rate. They are in the process of renovation. Seems like we are the first to stay in the room; can still see the fold lines in the shower curtain. Super clean and nicely decorated. Includes mini fridge and microwave. There are many choices of places to eat nearby.

Hotel is outdated and in need of some serious upgrades. I travel weekly on business and am a Marriott rewards member and can honestly say I will avoid this hotel in the future. Especially considering the rate I paid for the room, $ 169. However, the staff was great. Front desk personnel was fabulous, treated me with a smile and was very energetic and engaging.

I wouldn’t recommend staying at this hotel if you can help it in the Des Moines area. There are many newer, convenient hotels compared to this one. This hotel needs some serious updating of carpets, AC units, and bathrooms. I am a Marriot rewards member and travel all over the country for business and this is one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in.

Just can’t get much better for a moderately priced hotel chain. Stayed there 3 times over the last 3 years. Staff has always been good including calling me by name by the end of my stay. Facilities are clean and kept up to date. Main lobby/breakfast area was always kept spotless. Hotel location is great for going anywhere in West Des Moines. Plenty of dinning options all around you.

We’re generally impressed with Fairfield Inn’s and this place is no exception. We arrived around 9 pm and were greeted by a friendly front desk patron. They had plenty of info on the surrounding area including the state fair which was in town. The room was spacious with a good sized couch and king bed. The internet was free and they TV was average. Breakfast was above average continental with waffles, yogurt, and cereal as well as plenty of juices and milk. The area got busy around 8:30, but it was relatively quick even with the lines. Check out was quick and the place was easy on and off of the interstate. A solid place for less than many of the comperable spots in the area and you get breakfast and internet to boot.

I was out here on business and I guess because of events going on around town, this was the most economical option even though I had to work in downtown. I wasn’t that keen on this place, but at least they gave me a room upgrade at the end of the hall that had a hot tub bath. Even though I didn’t use it I appreciated the gesture. It was packed because of the NCAA track and field competition, but wasn’t too crazy. I was able to sleep and not get woken up, which is always a plus when traveling. The front desk staff wasn’t very friendly or willing to help; they definitely had to be prompted in order to get any type of question or issue resolved. I think next time I’ll try to stay somewhere closer to downtown.

The Fairfields are the lowest grade hotel in the Marriott line so don’t expect all of the frills you would get at a Courtyard or a Spring Hill. I was a little concerned as I walked in as the entrance area was a little«rough» but everything turned out OK. Friendly staff at check in and for the first time in about 5 years, they checked to be sure I was a AAA member(because I booked that rate). Room is nice and breakfast is your typical do-it-yourself stuff. Not bad for the price
