My wife and I had dinner and drinks here I a Wednesday night and really enjoyed the experience. My wife had the Mac n’ cheese with bacon and it was very good. I just had an appetizer that was also decent. The bartender was fantastic. He was fast and friendly and was obviously very good. It was $ 5 for all martinis that night which we thought was a great deal. I had a couple beers from their decent selection of craft beers. We will go again for sure.

We love this place. Small, friendly and interesting food. It’s a great example of what a chain or franchise cannot be. Very interesting editions of traditional dishes.

I came from out of town with my family for a graduation, and we wanted to find a nice place to eat without breaking the bank. Cooper’s on 5th was absolutely fantastic! The prices were great, with an average cost per meal around $ 10. Use Google to find their menu. I don’t understand how the prices were that low, with the quality of food that they served. The chicken philly is phenomenal. My brother said the meatloaf sandwich(not exact name) was extremely good, as well. Lastly, I give the waitress a 9.5 out of 10. Come on, nobody is perfect. If you’re looking for reasonable prices, excellent food, and a comfortable atmosphere, then you need to have Cooper’s on your GPS asap!

Another outstanding dining experience at Cooper’s on 5th. I had the sour apple Moscow mule and the Raspberry Oriental Salad with chicken. The drink was light and refreshing and the salad was crisp and fresh while the chicken was cooked to perfection. A perfect place for date night(my reason) or just to grab some delicious food in a cozy atmosphere.

I was looking for a place to catch dinner with friends for a date night and came across Cooper’s on Unilocal. The reviews looked good so I thought this place would be a hit. This place is located in Valley Junction and is a small cozy pub. They have a pretty good drink menu. I decided to try the Irish Coffee. The coffee was decent, but not my favorite. My wife got a Moscow Mule and after sampling it I decided to get one. A very good drink that I would get again. I decided to ask the waitress about the burgers and if they were fresh or frozen. She said they are fresh so I decided on the Bourbon Glazed Junction Burger with Fries. I was deeply disappointed and I don’t believe this is a fresh burger, but a frozen patty. The burger was very very dry. The Bourbon Glaze had no Bourbon flavor, this burger was pretty flavorless, except for the bacon. The bun was soft and good, but that’s it. I wanted to send it back because it was so dry. The fries were very good, kinda potato wedges. The place is small and wasn’t over busy for a Saturday night at 7pm. The waitress was friendly and did a good job with the drinks and food. If I were to go back I would want to see the burger before it was cooked to confirm it was fresh.

We’ve been here a few times now and every time we’ve had a great experience. Our last visit was on a Saturday night and we had reservations so we got in within about 5 minutes, but others who just dropped in were fitted in as quickly as possible, and few had to wait long. The drinks are always good, the meals are fresh and innovative, and the service is good. This is a relatively small place so if you’re going on a weekend a reservation is a good idea. There are a few bar seats, but space there is limited too. The meatloaf meltdown was excellent with a little bit of a kick — but not so much that it would be too spicy for those of you who don’t care for much of that. We previously shared the pulled pork nachos, which were also nicely spiced and excellent. Our desert on our last visit was fruit cobbler, which had a biscuit-like base, which was not quite what I was used to when previously enjoying this in the south, but it was quite good.

Tried Coopers finally, for the first time this week and can’t wait to go back! Service, food, and drinks were all great. Food: We shared the crab dip with chips for an appetizer. They are not your normal chips. I could have an order of them alone! Definitely homemade, fried and delicious. Even when another waiter stopped to ask how our dinner had been and noticed we had them, he said, those chips are great, huh?! The dip was great too, large chunks of crab and the dip itself had great flavor. I had the Chey-O burger. It came with a parmesean crisp on top, red peppers and onions, and was cooked perfect. I had a side of the creamy parm dressing to dip my seasoned potato wedges in and it was good too, could tell it was homemade. Drinks: Great, large selection of beers. Also a great pour on my shot. :) Service: Awesome waitress. Always smiling and just the right amount of attention. She was very welcoming and let us know about specials they have on other nights. Definitely need to go for the Steak De Burgo. Overall: My group of friends likes to eat and drink. We will definitely be going back here. A small place, with a bar feel, but more of a restaurant relaxed feeling as well. If that makes sense!!!

Came here on Saturday afternoon for drinks and, looking at the menu, I wish we would’ve eaten here too! Just ordered a round of cocktails and they were delicious! Our waitress was friendly and attentive and I just cannot wait to come back here for dinner!

AMAZING dinner last night! Coopers never disappoints us. We brought some friends with us that had never been and they were impressed as well. Good drink menu, food is spot on and a very cozy atmosphere. Support a local business. You will not be disappointed.

Again Unilocal is in desperate need for half stars. I am knocking it down, not due to what I had(Meatloaf Sandwich), but for what my wife and daughter had. My wife had the Blue Cheese Burger and it was over cooked(never was offered choice of doneness) and the blue cheese was non-existent and extremely mild. My daughter had the pulled pork nachos. The chips are excellent. Very light and crisp, but the pork was very dry and very greasy. Kudos for the cheese. Very good. Now for the good. My meal. The meatloaf was so tender and the Cajun seasoning was perfect with just enough spice to cut through the cheese and tomato sauce. I have found a new favorite sandwich. I also had the wedding soup. The meatball in it was amazing, full of flavor and complemented the soup very well. All in all, I will be back. Great atmosphere, and decent food.

We had a fun weekend lunch. The atmosphere is fun /cozy. We liked our food a lot — especially enjoyed the flatbread taco pizza and their fries are tasty. However, the portion sizes aren’t very big. I wouldn’t have been satisfied with just my meal if we hadn’t also gotten the flatbread as an appetizer.(And I normally don’t eat very large portions.)

I agree that this is one of the best kept secrets! Cooper’s on 5th has an excellent bartender; they have quite a few cocktails on the menu. I tried a variety of Moscow Mule flavors and their Vodka Gimlet was on point. The eggroll du jour was buffalo chicken(perfect app for two) and the special, steak medallions, were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Ended our meal with a perfect, classic bread pudding. The service was impressive as well! I loved the ambience! Also, they have Not Your Father’s Root Beer! Impossible to find!

$ 5 Martinis on Tuesdays. Get the short ribs! They literally fall off the bone. The creamy parmesan dressing is very tasty.

Great environment! The bar and the setting are super cool. The food is great, but a little pricey for what you get. The menu is also pretty limited. With that said, we will definitely be back — great place!

Love this place. They have a fairly limited menu — but overall the quality is superb. The reason that they get 4 instead of 5 stars is because the help can sometimes be less than stellar. They get full real quick — and instead of offering to hold a table and let them know when they are free — they just send people away. More than once I have actually seen tables clear 5 minutes after they send someone away. Last time we saw a group of 5 wait for like 30 minutes for a table — the hostess didnt even get them a menu. They were leaving when my mom and i decided to go — so I ran out and told them. Over all a great little whole in the wall pub with great food — just need better training for their servers.

Good food, nice atmosphere, reasonable prices and fantastic service… you can’t ask for more than that. Cooper’s takes reservations, so I strongly encourage you to have them going to the restaurant, as the seating is limited. However, they serve a full dinner at the bar, which is where my family and I ate. I enjoyed the seafood ravioli with a house salad. It was an ample serving and I really enjoyed the taste. I think Cooper’s is a great selection for dining out in Valley Junction. They will definitely see me back again.

My girlfriend and I have been here twice. Both times we had the pulled pork nachos as an app. They are very good. The nachos are big and taste homemade. It had a creamy type of cheese on it that was excellent, I can’t place what kind it was though, I’m thinking there was some goat cheese in it. The pork was borderline dry but had excellent flavor. I would order them again. The first time I ate there I had the Bourbon Glazed Junction Burger. It was a standard fare bacon cheeseburger. I was hoping it would have some bourbon flavor, but it was absent. Second time we ate there, we both had the house special. It was called Gun Powder rubbed sirloin steak. It was cooked medium well as I asked, the gf wanted medium rare and it was cooked appropriately. My steak had a bit more gristle than my gf’s oddly enough. I wish I had ordered the smoked gouda mac n’ cheese. Ambiance is intimate, small space, dimly lit. Service was good too. We will return someday.

After seeing Cooper’s on 5th got voted«Best Kept Secret» in the Cityview survey, we had to give it a try! I will admit I’d never heard of it before and I love finding yummy new places. We arrived around 6:45 pm on a Friday night. Upon entering, I was surprised how small of a space it was. There are three booths, around eight tables, and a small bar area with maybe ten seats. We were told there was a 15 – 20 min wait for a table for two. No problem, we’ll just go hang at the bar(other options were stand by the door or go watch food be prepped). We ended up waiting no more than ten minutes. We already had our drinks from the bar but our waitress made sure we didn’t need refills. She then described items on their menu as well as the special. We were very interested in the eggrolls which were Pulled Pork Wasabi. Those were delicious! I opted to order the Ravioli Randingo while my husband had the special for the night, Walleye which had an almond crust. Both dinners came with either a soup or salad to start. My husband had the soup(Clam Chowder) which he said was good but not the best he’s ever had. I had the salad with the house dressing. That house dressing is yummy with parmesan and garlic! Our main courses were good. The Ravioli Randingo had lots of seafood on it which was a pleasant surprise as many places skimp on the actual seafood. I loved the sauce on the ravioli. The breadstick was ok. My husband enjoyed his fish minus all the bones that were left in it. He was getting a bit frustrated with having to remove the tiny bones and even stated that he thought not finishing the fish due to the bones. Our waitress was rather attentive to begin with but then seemed to disappear towards the end(after we got our food). It would have been nice to have a couple more check-ins and a more timely delivery of the bill. Overall though, the food was good, the atmosphere is laid back, and we had an enjoyable dinner.
