We came here to celebrate my birthday so we had a party of about 20 people. Food: I ordered a Tallarin Verde con Bistek and he ordered the Lomo Saltado. I asked for the Bistek to be cooked to well done and it was probably only medium or so, so I could not finish the dish and traded with the boyfriend and finished off his Lomo Saltado, which was excellent. I really enjoyed the Lomo Saltado as it was flavorful and the meat wasn’t as chewy as the one in the Tallarin Verde. We also ordered their fruity Sangria, I think it had passion fruit and other fruits in it and it was extremely light. It has been my favorite drink of all time by far because of how light and fruity it is. Service: Because we had such a big party, I called ahead. They told me they don’t take reservations but that they will do their best to accommodate us. When we got there, they split our party into two, one group at one table and the other at a table behind the first table. Mind you, they have one big long section of their restaurant where they could have fit 20 of us comfortably but because they«couldn’t reserve those seats and the restaurant was busy, they just let people sit.» I understand, they have a business to run, but I think they could have accommodated us a little better, especially since they knew what time we would be coming in so they could start reserving the tables. On the other hand, our server was fantastic! I forget her name but she was excellent and very friendly and helpful.

Misky Misky? More like Salty Salty. It’s not bad here but I find the food a bit salty. If they lower their salt seasoning or whatever it is I would feel better after a meal. Adding too much salt makes you wonder if the food is not filled with preservatives. Not sure, but ease up on the salt and maybe lower your prices you they should be good.

The food is ridiculously good here. I was told they’re known for their ceviche but I didn’t try any because I wasn’t that hungry and wanted to pick an entrée to eat. Maybe next time! Arroz con Mariscos — holy holy… this is amazing. If you like seafood and that snugly sleepy feeling you get after eating good home comfort foods, this is for you. From what I could recognize, it had squid, mussels, and shrimp. It’s really good. Lomo Saltado — another amazing dish. The taste is just so amazing and flavorful. If you like beef or it’s your first time and you want to play it super safe, then pick this one. Non-alcoholic drinks: Both are very good. I can’t pick between the 2. It’s like asking what child is your favorite. I dunno… depends what day or mood I’m in.(I don’t have kids but if I did, I’m sure that’s what I’d say.) Chicha morada — this is a sweet peruvian drink made from sweet purple corn and other spices. It tastes like a spiced jamaica(hibiscus tea) to me. Maracuya — passion fruit drink PARKING ======= Plentiful. Don’t worry about it. They have their own private lot.

This place is delicious! I came here for the first time and I was not disappointed. I especially like their Inca kola, it tastes sweet and almost like bubble gum. The service is great and so is the food.

I had the ceviche and damn was it good. The only thing missing was the tostadas hey what can I say it’s the Mexican in me. Lol. The place is very noisy so if you want quite this is not the place for you. Personally I don’t like the noise to much but to have the food here it’s well worth putting up with it. This is the second time I have been here and it won’t be the last. Of your looking for the best Peruvian food around this is the place for you. Oh I almost forgot if you like sangria you got to have it here it’s the bomb.

Lovely casual ambiance, delicious food, and wonderful service! We started off the night with a jug of Sangria de Maracuya. Our server was really nice and accommodating to give us 6 glasses to share. The sangria was very tasty and refreshing with just the right sweetness. Highly recommend if you love passion fruit! For starters, we had the Ceviche de Mango and Tiradito de Pescado which were great for sharing. These two ceviches packed a punch of flavor. The acidity was well balanced with a little bit of heat and sweetness. There were also plenty of seafood in each. For soup/entrees, we had a total of five dishes to share. –Chupe de Camarones(creamy shrimp corn chowder) was very delicious and came with so much shrimp! The flavor was so good, and I love that there were rice and potatoes to make it a filling dish on its own and almost like a seafood porridge. –Cau Cau de Mariscos(seafood stew) came with scallops, squid, mussels, shrimps, and potatoes and served with white rice on the side. Good variety of seafood that were well cooked. The rice was worth mentioning because of how soft and fluffy it was! –Lomo Saltado(wok fried filet mignon with tomatoes, red onions, and french fries) is a popular Peruvian dish, and the one here is probably one of the best I had. Filet Mignon was tender and juicy, and the sauce had the perfect seasoning. –Tallarin Verde con Bisteck(Peruvian pesto linguini) was topped with grilled filet mignon cooked to preference. We asked for medium rare and the meat was a little chewier than the one from Lomo Saltado. This sauce was creamy and mild in flavor. –Arroz con Pollo(Peruvian green rice with chicken) was visually appealing with the green rice made from cilantro. Seasoning was just right, and the small red onion salad on the side gave the rice a great texture when mixed in. Seriously couldn’t have asked for a better place to bring my family. We all thoroughly enjoyed the dishes and finished every last bit. Prices are reasonable, and portions are generous. Can’t wait to be back to try more dishes!

Let me start off by saying that first and foremost the food was very very good. This was my second time here and we came for the celebration of a birthday which turned out great. I had the lomo saltado and my girlfriend had the aji de pollo which is like a chicken curry Peruvian style. Both dishes were delicious. The drinks were also very good. We had a couple Peruvian beers, and we also tried both kinds of sangria the red and the white and both were def satisfying. One of the best parts though was the customer service. Our servers name was Mimi, she was very attentive, really patient with everyone’s orders(we had a big party) all of our food came out correct, she did a great job splitting our bills and she was fully bilingual which was a huge plus. The manager rene was also very helpful with the whole process of the gathering. He made sure we had enough Chairs and tables and he was very attentive as well making sure that we were all having the best time possible. We will def be going back and I will def be recommending everyone to come here.

Craving Peruvian food? Don’t want to travel too far for it? Then Misky Misky is that go to spot. Ordered: *Shrimp ceviche– Wasn’t a huge fan of the ceviche. Had like a fishy taste to it even though I got shrimp. Doesn’t offers crackers to get to it. *Lomo saltado-tastes pretty good! I would definitely recommend this dish. I loved that there’s a good amount of tomatoes. That’s probably because I love to eat tomatoes. *Steak and potatoes-$ 25 I felt like it wasn’t worth $ 25 but it was surprisingly pretty good. And it was a pretty big piece of steak. Wasn’t chewy. Made perfectly medium as requested. So if money isn’t an issue I would definitely recommend ordering this! This is almost a must get! They give free nuts and green sauce but no bread to dip the sauce in.(Sad face!!) I’ve personally had better green sauce at other Peruvian restaurants. But that’s just me. Loved that you can give them your phone number and they’ll text you when the table is ready. It does get pretty busy during prime dinner time. Service is good. Everything comes out at a pretty reasonable time frame. Overall, everything was pretty good no true complaints. Tips: *Cash and credit card accepted. *Serves alcohol. *Has its own private parking lot. *Has an outdoor patio but not sure if they actually seat guests out there.

I went recently hoping we would have a local Peruvian spot to eat lomo soltado at… Instead of driving all the way to LA. But they gave us some weird corn nuts instead of bread. The stranger thing is they give you it with the sauce, which you can’t really eat together. Strange way to cut cost in my opinion… Considering that’s part of the meal. And over a hour wait on a Friday, which would’ve been fine if the restaurant was full but when we were seated we saw that they were only seating people on on half of the restaurant. Not cool! Considering half of the people were standing outside in the cold to be seated. Needless to say… We will still have to drive to LA…

She patiently explained some of the menu to us. I had the Lomo Saltado with two eggs… Yummm!!! The flavor was incredible!!! I totally recommend this restaurant to Anyone… As busy as it was, we didn’t have to wait long for our appetizers, drinks or main dishes. 2 thumbs way up !!!

Misky Misky you have been in my bookmark for quite awhile now & I am so glad I finally made it out to you. You are SO good. The atmosphere is trendy and the service was great. I will move onto the food & drinks we had here: Free Corn Nuts: WOW, these were so good! I did not feel guilty eating these yummy corns(even though I can taste the butter), but they were so good! Really unique and I loved the texture and flavor Passion Fruit Sangria: I’ve never tried Passion Fruit Sangria so this was my first time. It was really light and obviously white wine based. This is a great Sangria for day time and definitely worth the try. I would recommend getting the pitcher so your whole group can try it. Lomo Saltado + 2 Eggs: Keep in mind add the $ 2.00 for 2 eggs– it is worth it. This dish was filled with flavor and was beyond perfect with the red Hot Sauce! I would recommend this dish! Tallarin Verde: YUM. The flavor of the pesto was so unique and definitely not 100% american flavored. Better than any other pesto I’ve ever tried. If your not a steak eater you can order it with seafood or chicken. Im a steak eatter and it was great. Can Can De Mansco: This wasn’t a hit at our table the flavor was a little bland compared to the other dishes and it trumped this dishes flavor. I wouldn’t recommend it but presentation was nice. I also think they ran out of shell fish cause we came at the end of the day so we didnt get the 2 shells. Mango Ceviche: WOW. I loved this dish so much. It’s everything. The fish was big and fresh. Flavor was perfectly flavored and citrus. I love how there was seaweed and Yam in the Ceviche cause I’ve never tried a Ceviche dish like this & it complemented it really well. This is a MUST dish.

This pains me to write and I’m leaving this place with such a feeling of disappointment. We literally just left the restaurant, and after being so excited to grub on some good food, I wish we would’ve gone elsewhere. We got in around 1 pm today. We were quoted a wait of about 10 – 15 minutes. No biggie. But when we are finally seated, there were over 6 tables completely empty and over half of them which hadn’t been bussed yet. We sat down and our drink order was taken right away. Since we were looking at the menu while we waited for our table, we already knew what we wanted. So we ordered our appetizer at the same time. Ceviche de pescado! My favorite style oc ceviche. Our ceviche came out before our drinks and then after finishing our ceviche, we still didn’t have our drinks. So I had to flag someone down. 10 minutes later– oh, hey drinks. Another 15 minutes and servers are walking by us right and left, nobody clearing our plates or asking us if we need anything. Ugh. So I flag someone down yet again. We put in our order and waited… this experience was just that… a lot of waiting. Food come: my husbands steak, which he asked for cooked medium rare came out well done. At this point, I wasn’t going to wait any longer. We ate and tried to get out of there, but of course, we can’t to that without more waiting. Meanwhile, I’m looking around at all the tables around us who seem to be sharing in our agony. Were they short staffed? No, there was plenty of servers– they just couldn’t seem to find themselves out on the floor. There was a table with a child who literally had their iPad on full blast echoing through the whole restaurant. I would’ve expected the manager to go over and ask them to turn in down, but nope. I finally had had enough. I got up, asked for a box and the check. Turns out the Internet is down and they have to take cards manually… ok fine whatever not their fault. But on our way out, the lady with the child on the loud iPad is changing her freaking diaper at the table! That did it for me. This place is complete and utter chaos. Oh, and the ceviche is good. Everything else is mediocre at best. Big let down. :-/

Whoa such a hidden gem! I was so worried while I was driving here because it seemed to be in a secluded area right when you get into Covina and it’s dark and the only business visible was a gas station… where the hell was I going? But upon pulling into the parking lot, I saw Mercedes, bmws, decent cars and a huge line in the restaurant. This had to be a good sign! The place was bustling and I know why! The ceviche is absolutely fresh and well-portioned. It was so unique! Different flavors and textures in every bite and overall not too heavy. We got the mango ceviche which had just about earthing in it — fish of the day, corn nuts, seaweed, mango, shrimp, mussels, shrimp. It was so delightful and light and you don’t eat it with any chips or anything. That usually takes away from the flavor of the ceviche in my opinion… Then we got a paelle-esque dish that was delicious. The portion seemed a tad smaller than other things(from surrounding tables), but it was good. The seafood was fresh, but you can’t really taste the beer or wine that is supposedly in this dish. You get corn nuts to snack on prior to your meal which were fun. AND an entire carafe of sangria was $ 12. Can’t beat that — over four wine glasses. I’d go back yes! Please try!

We had been wanting to try this place since different people had been telling me about it, so I figure it must be good! This is located east of Eastland center. If you are leaving the center on the east side on Garvey, you head east until you see the Arco gas station. The restaurant is right before it on the left. As soon as we came in, we thought the ambiance was very modern with lots of nice decorations, such as the shrine at the entrance, the bulls on the walls, the wine bottles on the counters, the nice red and cappuccino wall colors, and the fresh flowers on each table. Here’s what we got: 1) Ceviche de Mango — Don’t let the pictures fool you. The pictures portray this dish as very small. This is actually a normal size portion and should be ordered for sharing with others. This dish had shrimp, mussels, and squid; plenty of mango; and even with medium spice level, it had a kick to it! 2) Lomo Saltado — This was pretty standard; equivalent to what you can get at Mr. Pollo for a lower price. The steak was very yummy and the rice you get with it was moist and flavorful. It was good overall, but I personally prefer my fries piping hot; these fries were a bit lukewarm and soft. 3) Arroz con Mariscos — AMAZING dish!!! The rice had such a great flavor to it. It was simmered in Peruvian dark beer and white wine, but it was not alcoholic tasting at all. The seafood included in it was sufficient. We had scallops, squid, mussels, and shrimp. So yummy, I think I would get this again next! While the service and food were great, the price of each of these dishes was $ 14. :(I think only the rice/pasta dishes(main entrees) should be worth that much, not the ceviche or lomo saltado. We loved this place and will definitely be back for more! *Just a heads up, they no longer have the Ceviche Misky Misky for $ 25 for four different ceviches that they have on their online menu. They blocked that part out of the menu at the restaurant. Probably such a good deal that too many people tried it haha

First time here. The ENVIRONMENT. * Overall impression is OK. Restaurant seems very clean. I loved the fresh flowers on each table. My Husband seemed disappointed in the ambiance… I think he expected it to be a bit nicer than it was. * Three waiters were eating at the bar stools during their lunch. I thought that was odd. I’d only expect to see this at a fast food restaurant. If fact, I’ve never seen employees having lunch on the floor in a restaurant before. One waiter was even counting her tips… a little unprofessional to say the least. The FOOD * My Husband ordered tallarines verdes y bistec which he very much enjoyed. The portion seemed a little on the small end, but that was the only complaint. * I ordered the lomo saltado. It looked great, but it was overly SALTED! I couldn’t even eat it. The steak was over seasoned as was the sauce. BTW, I’ve never had lomo that was in sauce before… and this it was drenched in this salty sauce concoction. * My Son ordered THEONLYITEMONTHEKIDSMENU, chicken with fries. He liked it, but why does their kids menu only have ONEITEM?! The SERVICE The service was just ok. Nothing special. When we asked our waitress for a to-go box, a gentlemen brought it over. He walked over to our table, extended his hand so that someone would grab it, then proceeded to leave. He didn’t smile or speak a word to us… not even when my Husband thanked him. Oh, and there were 3 – 4 items that were no longer available and were marked off of their menus in permanent marker.

One of my dinner guests said she loves MM so much, she can’t wait to come back in 4 hours when she is hungry again. I second the emotion! Misky is an unpretentious, simple place. Concrete floors, metal chairs, open dining area, totally approachable staff. You can tell when staff is happy; they make us happy too. We were very happy. For our meal, we asked for the most Peruvian wine, beer, appetizers, entrees, and deserts that Big Peru has to offer. We were blown away by the quality and the fresh ingredients. Delicious! We also got a special treat when we met the owner, Cecilia, who was sweeping up a corner when we were introduced. I guess«not my job» doesn’t translate from Peruvian.

tl;dr: A little unexpected to find a nice Peruvian ceviche place in this area, but well worth a visit to sample traditionally flavored dishes. Must try the ceviche and the Chupe de Camarone. Roomy and clean. Very reasonable prices. Modest drink and dessert selection but I like what they offer nonetheless… **** I couldn’t agree more with some of the other reviewers comments as most everything on the menu appeals to our senses, so much in fact that I consider it somewhat of a local hidden gem. I wouldn’t have expected to find Peruvian ceviche this close to me tucked away behind a gas station taking over a long time local mom-n-pop diner but I can only hope that it represents the beginning of a culinary influx to an area that has up until now hasn’t been known to offer very much… If you’ve never had ceviche let me tell you it’s not like having poke or sashimi at all, the acidity and sour tanginess will be an eye opener like sucking on a lime. Once you’ve gotten past the acrid taste you’ll begin to appreciate the freshness of the fish which doesn’t really matter what kind it is, the difference is mainly in the texture of fish versus shellfish. The couple of times we’ve been we’ve tried the Mixto, and the Pescado and such was the case. The dishes are lined with red onions and cilantro, as well as Peruvian corn, hominy, and camote(yam). Since this is what the restaurant features you should be sure to check it out… We’ve also ordered the Lomo Saltado and the Arroz con Pollo entrees before and although these are fairly common things to expect and order at a Peruvian place and they were nice dishes I didn’t think that they were particularly special or memorable. If you want to try something different and special I recommend trying the Chupe de Camarone which is a creamy shrimp and corn chowder. It wasn’t too spicy but maybe we told them to tone it down for us since I can’t handle spicy food too well. Nice big shrimp, and a hunk of cheese that goes well with the creaminess of the broth. What I really like is the small poached egg with the runny golden center, perhaps a quail egg by the size of it. Very heartwarming and tasty dish… As for beverages try the Maracuya passionfruit juice which is a nice fruity beverage or if you’re inclined, I thought the red sangria was also pretty good. If you have room for dessert, there is an ice cream flavor called Lucuma which is a fruit that is indigenous to the Andes region of Peru and it’s not too sweet but creamy refreshing… In addition to their full menu, I’ve also considered Misky’s for their lunch specials offered Tuesday through Friday(closed on Mondays) and they’re under $ 10 which is very reasonable. The dining room is clean and somewhat sparse but roomy, there is a counter in addition to a «ceviche bar» if you come solo although I don’t always remember to think about them that often as a lunch option. The times we’ve been, the service was warm and friendly. I can’t wait to introduce a couple of my friends to this place…

We were on the hunt for some Peruvian food and didn’t want to drive out to Hollywood for another well known joint… so happy to have found this gem! Interior is clean and well made, servers are all pleasant and full of smiles! This is what we ordered: Ceviche de mango: The mango purée was absolutely amazing on top of the seafood mix that we got. Everything blended wonderfully together – not too sweet, not too sour. This was definitely my favorite dish of the day! Only little note was that we got some fish with a bit of tendon/chewiness, but it really wasn’t a big deal. The hunk of yam was flavored nicely with cinnamon – an almost«Christmas-y» kinda taste. Ceviche mixta; This seemed to be the traditional ceviche, so we ordered it. It’s essentially the ceviche de mango, minus the mango. A little too tangy-salty for my taste, as I felt like it took away from the fresh taste of the seafood, but eh, still not bad. Presentation was very nice. Cau cau de mariscos: This was a wonderful mellow dish of creamy stew and good seafood. This was also one of my faves – at first we thought it was curry since it was bright yellow, but maybe it was saffron instead? Definitely a dish to try if you love shellfish! Lomo saltado: This was my least favorite dish. Much too salty for me and the beef was not soft, but rather a bit on the chewier side. Fries were soggy, but they are drenched in the beef sauces so I can’t really complain. Definitely mix with rice. a lot of rice… Peruvian drink: I forgot what it was called… but it was the one that tasted of hibiscus, a ton of cinnamon, and once again – ultra Christnas-y. The flavor was interesting, but I didn’t like how it was almost syrupy sweet, which again took away from the flavor. Overall, I’d say this was more a 3.5 in my book as I feel like a lot of the flavors were in the extremes – too salty, too tangy, too flavorful, etc, but I’ll bump it up to a 4 since my friends loved most of the dishes. Definitely a great spot for ceviche, but do expect to be paying for quite a bit if you’re a big eater like me(pretty sure I can eat 2 ceviche dishes(around $ 13 each) all to myself easily).

Wow. Wow. Wow. I like fish but I am very picky where I decide to eat fish from. We ordered a pitcher of their refreshing red sangria de chicha morada(just enjoy for three of us on girls night to get us going). Then we proceeded with the following: *Ceviche de pescado– holy crap! I just had this last night and I’m craving it already! The fish was so fresh and lemoney. This is not your typical ceviche and definitely not the one grandma makes. I would highly recommend this dish to any sashimi and citrus lover. *Pulpo al olivo– I’m not one to like octopus. I’ve had it before at different places and it’s just too too too chewy for me but let me tell you this, you must try it here. The octopus is thinly sliced which makes it so much easier to enjoy when you’re chewing it. It’s thin, fresh(no funky smells here) and has a nice smokey flavor to it. As for my dinner: *Pollo Saltado– Delicious! The chicken is flavorful and juicy. It also has some onion and tomatoes mixed with a tasty sauce and French fries! Yup, French fries that have soaked the aji Amarillo sauce. As for dessert we shared: *Leche asada: The leche asada reminded me of a flan so if you like flan and/or custard, I would recommend trying that one out. *Deep fried bread pudding: The deep fried bread pudding wasn’t too oily, it def didn’t taste fried. It reminded me of a hush puppy because of the ball shape. Both desserts weren’t overly sweet and The service was alright, the place is clean and the place is laid back. I would recommend checking it this place for sure. They do not take reservations during the weekends; they do however take them during the week.

Trying Peruvian food is a thing for me now. Ever since I had Mr. Pollo I’ve been hooked! I came here with my GF for lunch. The restaurant is very big with a huge private lot — definitely on the fancier side. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and seated. You can sit on booths, tables or at the counter top. If you sit at the counter top, you will be able to see chefs cooking since it is kind of open(we could see flames flaring up from where we sat). Ceviche de Mango: Fish of the day, shrimp, mussels, & squid with mango purée, red onions, & aji amarillo. Everything was fresh and light. The mango purée dressing was unbelievable! It was sweet and sour and it went well with all the fresh seafood. Lomo Saltado: Tender juicy seasoned wok-fried filet mignon cooked with aji amarillo, tomatoes, red onions, & french fries, served with seasoned white rice. I’ve loved every Lomo Saltado I’ve tried and this one was no exception. Really flavorful and satisfying. Arroz con Mariscos: Rice cooked in a seafood base of scallops, squid, mussels, & shrimp, simmered in Peruvian dark beer & white wine, topped with salsa criolla. This dish reminded me of Paella without the crispy goodness at the bottom. Rice was super flavorful but a little oily. Maracuya: Passion fruit juice. I like that they dont fill it out with ice like other places. You actually get a full glass of juice and not half ice. I am very impressed with this restaurant. Food and service were amazing but a little slow to bring the check and back.

I LOVETHISPLACE!!! I’ve been here twice, and it never disappoints! The wait may be longer than usual, but it’s so worth it! We always order the Mango ceviche mix, which comes with a variety of seafood, corn nuts, red onion, mango bits, and yam. It is salty, sweet, sour, and just a party in your mouth. Highly recommend! You can never go wrong with the Lomo Saltado. I really enjoyed the shrimp chowder. It comes with 10 – 12 shrimps with 1 giant prawn in a rich, shrimp chowder filled with rice and vegetables. Order it if you feel like having a hearty comfort food. The pesto pasta with filet mignon is good, but not terrific. The seafood fried rice is also very good. I definitely have to come back to try the other dishes I’ve been eyeing. They also give complimentary bread with the green sauce. The papa a la huancaina is one of my favorite appetizers– boiled potatoes with cheese sauce. I could just pig out at this restaurant! So bad for my diet. Prices are reasonable too! For two people, we usually spend around $ 80.

I would like to think that I’m pretty particular when it comes to Peruvian food after taking a cooking class in Lima earlier this year but I’ve become a fan of Misky Misky. I didn’t even know that it existed until my dad mentioned that we were going there for my mom’s birthday. After seeing all the good reviews on Unilocal,I figured, that I’d give it a shot. I think that you could tell how good a Peruvian restaurant is by two things: it’s lomo saltado(if you’re a red meat eater) and it’s cebiche(if you’re a seafood lover). Don’t expect a lot of vegetarian options within Peruvian cuisine. There are vegetables but they also love their meats. My mom ordered Lomo Saltado and it was enjoyable: both juicy and full of flavor. Not overly saturated but just right. We also ordered the Ceviche de Mango which we all devoured. I’m a fan of Causa but the Causa that we ordered was a lot smaller than my liking, considering that I make this at home. My dad and I ordered the Pescado a la Parrilla which we both enjoyed and dad liked the Cusquena to help him wash it all down. I enjoyed the service. Our waiter was extremely nice and hospitable as we spoke about Peruvian cuisine together. It was nice that they had their own private lot which makes parking easier and for an afternoon meal on a Sunday(3pm), I was surprised at how full the restaurant still was. Would I go back? Yes! If I can’t get Mario’s on the Westside and I’m visiting my parents, I would definitely go back here to try the other dishes.
