Located in a strip center, this small Vietnamese place is really good. I stopped in on a weekday afternoon. Only two other customers were in there. I ordered the pork bahn mi sandwich. The wait wasn’t too long, maybe about 10 minutes for my food to come out. I took my order to go. They have siracha to go, which is a plus. The meat was tender and flavorful. The bread wasn’t too hard. The slaw on top mixed well with all the flavors. This is hands down my favorite bahn mi in the area. The only reason I had to take a star off was because of the prices. m$ 4.50 for a bahn mi is high considering you can get $ 2 bahn mi’s inside the loop. Otherwise, I will come back to try some of the other items on the menu.

The spring rolls were solid. I ordered beef, pork, and crispy pork. The crispy pork was my favorite! It’s unique yet very simple and the skin is nice a crispy.

Fantastic! The spring rolls are delicious and very filling. The proteins are great and big portions. Friendly and fast too. Their rice and vermecelli bowls are very fresh and tasty. This is my favorite place for spring rolls. Also, their beef is very tender and has great flavor. Give them a try!

Good food, good service, and good deal. The price they charge for the food is worth the taste. The place is not fancy but clean. We had the shrimp spring rolls, roasted pork banh mi, and pork vermicelli. They all came out to be better than we were expecting. When we dined there, we noticed that most of the customers are returning customers. Some were known by name. Nothing better than loyal customers. We will definitely come back.

I had the pork bahn mi and let me tell you the flavors were awesome. For 4.99 I will take a pork bahn mi over subway any day. The bread was crisp and chewy which was all so good. Along with it I got the shrimp spring rolls they were some of the best ones I have ever had and really fresh. I will definitely be back again.

I was driving by and decided to stop in. I love spring rolls so I order the chargrilled shrimp spring rolls. They were amazing! I paid a little over $ 7 for 3, there are at least 5 shrimp in each spring roll and the peanut sauce was the perfect complement. Will definitely be ordering more.

Girl at counter is helpful and sweet. Spring rolls here are great hence the name. The fried rice was also good. The banh mi so so yum. Love the bread.

This place is delicious! The absolute best spring rolls I’ve ever had. Their fried rice is amazing as well. I could eat at this place everyday. Also, the cashier is very very friend and if you have any questions about the menu she is very helpful.

I wish the quality at this place was more consistent. I live nearby and used to order the different types of fried rice and grilled pork banh mi from here on a regular basis for about two years up until about Summer 2015. The banh mi were convenient to eat for lunch at work, and the fried rice was great for dinner. I put up with the inconsistent quality for longer than I should have, but I was hoping that things would get better with time. The sandwiches are what first started to disappoint me. Many times the bread was very hard and would actually hurt my teeth and gums to bite through it. The bread was also very tough: I’d sometimes have to stick the sandwich way back in my mouth and use my molars to tear pieces away like a dog. I’m a young person with no dental issues, and I’ve NEVER had to avoid food before because it HURT to eat. If I requested that they not make the bread so hard, then it ended up being soggy from too much mayo. The fried rice dishes are the most inconsistent, though. Sometimes I get a lot of meat, and other times I feel totally ripped off. My most memorable experience was ordering combination fried rice after a long 16 hour day of performing procedures on ER and ICU patients and having to skip lunch… only to be given a ton of rice with hardly any meat mixed in. I shouldn’t have to request extra meat when I order and I shouldn’t have to beg for more meat after the fact. When I’m at work all I can think about is how I would want people to treat me. Every patient counts equally to me. I kick myself at the end of the day if I think back and realize that I could have handled something better. I know that most people don’t care this much, but I do. So when someone smiles at me, casually hands me their worst work, and then expects me to return for more. it’s a pretty big turn off for me. It shows me that they don’t care, and that I shouldn’t expect any different in the future. The employees are friendly, but friendliness doesn’t fill my stomach. I come here for the food, not the smiles and small talk. I’ve worked with people like this before: nicest people in the world but the worst employees. The food is inexpensive too, but I feel like Springroll Express focuses more on affordability than satisfaction. I don’t mind paying more if that what it takes. Just tell me what I have to pay for a real full sized meal with no cut corners. Make a real menu with real prices for people who realize that Springroll Express needs to make money but still want a full meal. I’m realistic though and I understand that they won’t be making any major changes just for me, so I won’t be returning.

Great food at this little shop! I really enjoy their specials, usually posted weekly on their Facebook page. I’ve had pad Thai, sriracha lime chicken, and a couple other dishes that were all great. Their normal menu has some delicious options too, I typically get the vermicelli bowl with tofu and an order of their small pork egg rolls. I’ve also had the spring rolls, which were also delicious, but the servings are so big that I don’t usually have room for an appetizer too.

The food at this place is so good, and pretty healthy. You can order everything with or without meat. Don’t let the area fool you. In my opinion, the best places are found in the worst areas. You literally can’t go wrong with anything you decide to get here.

This place is so suspiciously convenient right off of El Dorado before the freeway, I avoided it for a long long time. Shady! I’m glad I did, I hear the original management sucked. I missed the bad part so the first time I went was phenomenal! I’m obsessed with their pork salad(fried shallots, shredded cabbage, red onion, cilantro and sticky grilled pork slices and fish sauce), the spring rolls and sandwiches. I wish they had phở! Service is excellent, quick and friendly, prices are pretty reasonable. 10⁄10 would eat again!

Looking at the outside I wasnt sure whether or not to go in. Its in the middle of a dirty little strip center. You order at the counter. Its a small sparse room with metal tables and chairs. The only menu is on the wall behind the counter and I say No phở??? What on earth??? After I recovered from my disappointment I ordered the pork bahn mi and vietnamese egg rolls. The eggrolls came with carrots, lettuce leaves and fish sauce. They were tasty but very small. The pork was in toasty bread with some veggies and mayo sauce. It was very good. The people were very nice but I probably wont return. It just wasnt enough to bring me back.

Crispy pork at its best! The seasoning and tenderness follows the crispy skin heaven after your first bite into the spring roll. What a great combo with the sauce. I also tried the banh mi version which was equally mind blowing — Paired very well with the mayo and garnish but I forgot to add the fried egg! Will be back next time .Great addition to the neighborhood!

Based on Unilocal we went to this place. It was about 7pm and we were the only customers. That’s too bad because the food we got was good. It’s Hemingway’s clean well lighted place. You order at the counter, they bring it to your table. The service people were pleasant & friendly. We shared the vermicelli with pork. It was topped with crisp fried onion that added a nice touch to dish. I also ordered two eggrolls which were good. All of the food was good. The vermicelli sauce was tasty while eating but left a less good aftertaste. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. We would go more often if it was nearer us. ___ We’ve Eaten Out Every Meal for more than 25 years

As others have stated Spring Roll Express is definitely a no frills place and based upon the outer appearance of this strip one would be leery of even stopping here. I’ve surely passed this strip up several times without thinking about stopping. I visited during my lunch hour and it wasn’t too packed. I walked in and was greeted with a friendly smile by the cashier. Super friendly and helpful young lady. Anyway, I decided to go with the char-grilled spring rolls and they were brought out to me in a decent amount of time. I enjoyed my spring rolls and they had a very good taste. I pretty much talked on the phone with my bf the whole time but the cashier didn’t mind coming over to politely ask if I needed more peanut sauce or anything, so customer service is very much above and beyond. I’ll definitely return again to try out more of the menu.

No frills kind of place in kind of a sketchy shopping center but I highly recommend calling in your order, picking up your delicious banh mi for under $ 5, and scarfing it down hoping it will never end. Very good banh mi and I also enjoyed the tofu spring rolls… this place is a gem! Tried this place for the first time yesterday for lunch… and came back with my sister for dinner!

I am all about hole in the wall places. It is on el dorado stuck in between an auto insurance place ripping off the Texans logo and something else. If you don’t look for it, you will miss it. The lady working there is super sweet and gave some recommendations. I ordered the pork banh mi and chargrilled shrimp spring rolls. For a place being called Spring Roll Express, I expected that I would be getting my food super fast, but it was a little delayed. I was on my lunch break and knew I wasn’t going to eat everything so I got it to-go. The spring rolls are very fresh and I love that they don’t skimp on the peanut dipping sauce! I have been here once before and I feel like the banh mi fell a little short today. It was a little dry and meat was a little chewy. I know this place has given me an excellent banh mi before, but not today. Still an ok product.

This place is located in an unassuming shopping strip. It’s kinda small inside, there were maybe 1 or 2 people. That being said, I was really really wanting a banh mi and I Unilocaled this place and it had great reviews. And they are great for a reason! Of all the banh mi sandwiches I had, this ranks up there in my top five. I got a crispy pork banh mi with a fried egg and spring rolls(shrimp, crispy pork, and chargrilled pork). The spring rolls had just the right amount of everything. Not too much lettuce, no skimping on the meat. I called it in and came to pick it up. The girl who took my order was very nice and conversational. My sandwich was everything I could have wanted in a banh mi. Crisp crust on the outside soft on the inside, and a good size too. I really loved that crispy pork, but with it being the pork belly, I’m gonna have to slow my roll on that cut of meat. It offers great texture though. Maybe next time I’ll try beef or chicken. Over all this place is a great hole in the wall. The food tasted fresh. I see myself coming here quite often in the future to pick up lunch after class. prices are very reasonable too. Oh yeah. I also got Vietnamese coffee. It was spot on. P. S. — everything tastes better with a fried egg on top. Trust me.
