The price is great and the staff are friendly. My partner and I both got a 1 hour reflexology. Sadly while I got a younger man who was really good 4⁄5 stars my wife got an older man who was a little rough and didn’t do the same areas as I got. So she left feeling more stressed than when we came in. That’s why I’m giving in 3⁄5 stars. Needs to be more consistent!

Shocking to me — I love this place. I walked in and it looked very sketchy. The place was somewhat dingy and outdated. I was greeted at the door by a lady that spoke very few English words. I debating leaving but elected to stay. I pointed at the menu and asked for an hour($ 60). She called someone on her cell phone and handed the phone to me… I’m starting to think something bad could happen but he asks what I want and I tell him and hand the phone back. She talks for a minute in what I believe was Korean and walks me back. I got ready and she comes in. She said hello to me several times which was kind of funny. At first I thought I was being tricked as the massage started out not so good. Then out of nowhere it turns into super massage, She’s bending my arm to massage pressure points, focusing on areas that she must have know were a bit beaten up, and she used her chin in combination with her hands for a fully head massage(OK that reads bad but its not). I fell asleep a few times and I know I went over the hour. When it was done, I asked if I could charge it. She called the guy and he came over — Guessing he has other businesses. I asked if he could put 20 on the card for a tip. Apparently tipping isn’t the norm here as both were shocked. Great massage. I actually wanted to go back the next day but didn’t want turn into a stalker.

What an unexpected treat… My husband and I were in dire need of foot massages after exploring Boston and Cambridge on foot. It was a decision on a whim and we found this place on Unilocal. The other reviews had prepared us not to expect too much from the décor but we were very excited about the raving reviews about the quality of the massage. We were not disappointed! We had called Barefoot reflexology about 15 minutes before arriving to see if they had any open spots. They were full so we were directed to Sakura. Upon arriving, we found a tub of hot water already prepared in a dimly lit room with a reclining sofa and faint classical music in the background. While soaking our feet, we were given a back and arm massage which was also very much needed. Shortly after the foot massages began, both my husband and I conked out. I woke with a start because i heard my husband snore. I am writing this review on our way back to the hotel and my feet, body, and soul are all very content and happy and relaxed. I wish this establishment existed back home…

I’ll piggyback on Meghan M’s post … walked into Barefoot spur of the moment, sent to Sakura. it was AWESOME!!! i’m 9 mos. pregnant. heard reflexology was a great way to encourage labor and since its Sat. and my due date is Mon, I figured why not? I was pleasantly surprised by the half hour upper body massage. by the time they got to my feet i didn’t even need it… i felt so great. She was strong too, it was a high quality massage. i also almost fell asleep during the foot reflex. part. Not sure if it will do anything to get this baby moving, but it sure was worth $ 35 and felt amazing. I highly recommend this place whether you are pregnant or not. And if you are squeamish about full body massages with clothes off, try this. its half the price and they do end up massaging you nearly everywhere thru your clothes, no awkwardness at all! Now I need to get my husband in here! Oh, and if i have the baby this weekend, I’ll be updating this to 5 stars ;)

I walked in to to barefoot reflexology this morning(just up the street), and because they were full, they sent me down to Sakura; I believe they are owned by the same person/people. The man at the front desk called over to let the young lady know I was coming. I asked for the one hour foot reflexology massage, and we walked into an adjacent room with two plush reclined chairs. Not recliners, but something between a recliner and a smooshy chair with an ottoman, cover in what looked like crushed velvet, with clean white towels over them. I took my shoes off, and the the masseur brought in a big bucket of warm water with rose petals. While I sat with my feet soaking(there was a liner in, making me feel good about cleanliness), the masseur worked on my shoulders, neck, scalp, face, back and arms. After this, she wrapped my feet in towels to dry, and I laid down in the chair. While she worked on my feet and legs I actually fell asleep. Twice. Needless to say, very relaxing! Over all it was a clean and pleasant experience, and took care of the terrible arch pain I’d had from recent running. I’ll definitely come back again. And for $ 35 dollars it can’t be beat. Street parking, accept credit/debit cards. Tips in cash. The young lady looked so happy when I told her she had done a good job; she clearly takes pride in her work, and was very professional. Could be a five star, but with only one experience I’ll wait and update. Definitely a fan.

I’m not one to write reviews… but my experience at Sakura was so great that I have to write and share with others. I had a stiff neck(due to stress and probably not sleeping well) for 2 days and scheduled an apt at Sakura. Couldn’t beat the price or location so I figured why not. In the past when I have experience a stiff neck on the magnitude I did(unable to turn head completely, sharp pain, etc) I would schedule an apt somewhere and brace myself for a painful massage to ‘get the kink out.’ Well, Sakura proved to me how amature other massage places are. When I called to schedule and then reschedule they were friendly and accomodating. Granted their English was limited but I got my apt in quickly and easily. When I walked in I was a little thrown off by the ‘décor’ but figured at their great prices I’m happy to see they are not charging me a lot for ‘fluff.’ It’s a no frill place and I don’t mind that. The massage was amazing. Not once was I in pain(which is what I was expecting due to my initial neck pain). The massage was thorough. Some might get thrown off my them positioning themselves on the bed(like a review below), but really she is just trying to enable herself to apply the right amount of pressure and movement to what she is doing. It didn’t throw me off at all. I had expressed to her my neck issue from the very beginning and she asked questions to best understand, felt my neck to see what she had to work with and then got to work. I did get a full body massage but there was emphasis placed on the upper body as I had requested. I was so amazing that I was not in pain or uncomfortable at all during the massage! And when it was over I had mobility in my neck! Granted I was still not 100 with my neck but I knew not to expect that. Regardless, they by far exceeded all expectations for me! I was able to go out that night and ice skate then salsa dance with friends as initially planned… something I was afraid I was going to have to cancel due to my neck pain. Today, the next day, I woke with full mobility still and very little discomfort. I’m still amazed by it all. I strongly recommend this place and plan on telling all my local friends about it. Can’t beat the price… especially for the type/quality of massage that comes with it. Amazing!

I went in for a massage because it was close to my house & cheap for $ 60. I felt like it was a sketchy place due to the sign that said«We do not perform sexual acts» WHY do you need a sign like that? the massage was ok but when I was done the timer went off BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP dropped my arm & said she was done… uhhhhhh I was not relaxed after that & would definitely not go back

It doesn’t look like much, but it works. Basic store front, no frill’s, but my back doesn’t hurt anymore, and my lower back pain has been constant for about 3 years. If your looking for a nice relaxing, spa like atmosphere, this is NOT your place. However, if you are looking for a Tui-Na experience that will help loosen you up, and feel better all around, Sakura is definitely worth a visit!

A decent place for an average comforting $ 60/hr massage. Staff are friendly and dressed in scrubs. The place may look like something out of Providence RI on the outside but it definitely isn’t, it is legit and clean. I’ve yet to try anything else in the area, but this pretty much is a step up from your average mall store/storefront Asian massage place.

Nice asian massage parlor offering chinese tui-na massage. Hours are 10 – 10, seven days a week, which makes it a nice place to enjoy a post diner massage($ 60/1hr).

I’m going to have to disagree with the previous review of sakura massage spa in watertown. While she’s correct that there are no «happy endings» and technically nothing inappropriate happened, it was the sketchiest massage I’ve ever gotten. The massage therapist was crawling all over me on the table — as I lay on my stomach, she literally was sitting on my back and as she worked her way down my back, I felt like I was back in high school being dry humped. She also at one point was walking on my back(that’s right, STANDING on me) and started kicking me. That may be just a normal part of their massage but it has never happened to me before, nor do I want it to again. During the massage, another woman came in and basically started having a conversation with my therapist, as I lay there on my stomach butt naked besides a thong(yes, she removed the entire cloth from my back as she worked). The woman finally left but about 10 minutes later, my therapist left the room to get something and left the door open, again with my laying on my stomach in nothing but a thong. To top the experience off, when I picked up my purse there was a pube on it. I don’t think I’ll be returning.

How to enjoy a massage at Sakura: 1) Turn your speakers off if you go to this website. The music is brutal. 2) Clear your mind of any preconceived notions you might have about«happy endings» even if the look of the place(upon drive-by) is a little sketchy. 3) I’ll say it again, the place looks scary. There are no windows. The door looks likes the door to a fortress. You may assume a bunch of illegal underage girls are hiding out in here but trust me, they’re not. 4) Sure, the front desk area is a bit drab and smells faintly of cats but don’t run away! 5) Ask one of the sweet women, very professionally dressed in medical scrubs, for a massage and be prepared to be wowed. 6) A full hour, full body massage is only $ 60 and the rooms are very clean and the entire experience is very professional. 7) When you are in the room undressing pre-massage and you start to panic a little thinking«on or off» just take them off. It’s much more comfortable.
