The liquor selection is OK. It is true that they make up prices as they go. I have been a patron for years. I know to watch. Within the month, for instance, they double-charged my credit card about 3 weeks ago. Today, the old guy behind the counter charged me $ 10 more than the sticker on the bottle. To which, I did not notice until I got home this evening. No doubt, when I go back tomorrow morning, he will deny. They just lost a good customer. Watch out, y’all!

I really think they make up prices as they go. I was in there today getting two bottles of Burnetts($ 15.99 each) and a 30 rack of Natty Light(hey, I’m in college), and it totaled $ 93. Probably because of the impending snow, but the guy behind the register was rude beyond belief when I asked nicely how the total got that high and wouldn’t give me a receipt. Stop somewhere else and avoid being ripped off!

They literally make the prices up as they go along, particularly for beer(which is typically not labeled with a price tag). I’ve been charged 3 different amounts for the same 12-pack, all depending on time of day/week. If it’s a Tuesday at 5pm, they’ll charge me $ 13 for a 12-pack. If it’s Friday at 9:30pm and the place is packed? They’ll charge me $ 17 for the same thing. Just yesterday they tried to charge me $ 10 for a 4-pack of 16oz Heineken cans.(The owner looked at what I was ordering, hesitated for 5 seconds while she thought about what she should charge me, then typed in $ 9.85. No way Heineken cans are over $ 2 apiece…) I still go there when I’m too lazy to go anywhere else, but if you go there you should expect to be ripped off.

My five-star rating is for their liquor selection. They have a wide variety of liquor and the prices are great. There is always some kind of liquor on sale too! This is the best alcohol selection in the West End. Other stores are smaller and have a more limited selection.

A small family-owned supermarket with your basic bare essential convenience items such as Milk, juices, pasta, etc… Nothing overly special and somewhat overpriced to be honest, I normally only stop here if I have no other choice, which often I do as this place has such limited store hours, I once asked the cashier what the normal closing time is and the answer was«it depends on how busy it is», hence not very reliable and at times when I have been most in need of a grocery item I have found this place closed. Another downer is the excessively high«credit card minimum» which I believe is about $ 10, really?!! If your in the neighborhood and seek a quick and convenient place to grab a last minute grocery item I would recommend either the Marvelous Market next door or the 24-hour 7-Eleven around the corner as a last resort. Otherwise, you can’t go wrong with the infamous Trader Joes across the street for all your grocery needs.

For those looking for companionship and friendship take your a$$ to a bar. They work there 14 hrs a day and from time to time talk on the phone. The prices are reasonably priced and are labeled on most products, so if you’re not blind look. Hand gestures is the international language for people that don’t speak English well, so don’t take offense.

This place has a little bit of everything. I mean, granted it functions mostly as a liquor store, but it’s nice to be able to get your mixers and garnishes at the same place or pick up some snacks to assuage the late night munchies you can anticipate without having to make a separate stop at the grocery.
