Not sure about the customer service, since the lady ignored us until we came to the counter. Small selection, high prices, but it was conveniently located close to our hotel and had chocolate ice cream so it works.

Also known as Marvelous Market, Came here on a rainy Sat evening looking for dessert— this place wasn’t it. But the selection of coffees(and the taste) was a benefit. The chocolate brownie is just chocolate– great for kids, most adults(especially those that are health fanatics) wouldn’t eat this whole thing. Other desserts they had included ginger cake and ginger pound– varies in concentration but very moist seeming products as was the brownie that I did indulge in(and rushed to the gym afterwards). They do have a bathroom and umbrella rack(you may pass the rack since it is directly in front of the door). Very very few seating spots(4 – 5). Probably great for those on to work for a grab and go breakfast or lunch.

The short: great lattes, love the lunch sandwiches and salads… the chicken caprese is my favorite. I always stop in this coffee/deli on my way to Georgetown. The lattes and food is always consistent. The salads are fresh and the ingredients are premium not the cheap canned stuff at the chain shops. Oh and they have a great selection of wines. I found a yummy Chilen red for $ 12…Score!

A quaint little neighborhood market that also serves as a small bakery and coffee shop. As one who lives in the neighborhood, this place is tremendously convenient when your looking to grab a small bite and a go to spot when looking for quick grocery item, just be prepared to pay a premium price for the convenience factor. In addition, you will find a limited but unique offering of international products ranging from European beverages to Ethiopian pastries. The staff is friendly and consistent, they recognize me every time I walk in, always a good sign.

I really loved this place. I came here on a Saturday morning and their ham and cheese croissant was delicious and cheap, I couldn’t believe it was only $ 2.95. They toast it warm for you, it’s buttery and crispy, and SO good– I bought two. They have tons of European goods too, different kinds of chocolates, cheeses, yogurts, nuts, chips, etc. They even have Magnum, my favorite ice cream when I was in Europe. It’s fun to just browse, and buy and taste different things. I would come back often if I lived in the area.

Can’t comment too much. It was on my way from the Metro stop to my client’s place. It wasn’t over roasted expensive Starbucks. I was able to get decent coffee at a good price and several other options to fill the stomach for breakfast. I’d be regular if I was in the area.

This place is very convenient for something quick, however the quality has gone down hill! There curry chicken salad used to be AMAZING, now it is almost inedible. However, their baked goods are decent with a nice cup of coffee.

Stopped in here late on a Sunday morning for a double expresso. It was excellent and reasonable priced @ $ 3. They seem to be well stocked with pre made deli sandwiches and wraps. I will def be going back.

Not horrible, but Marvelous Market is no where near what it used to be, before it was bought out. They have a passable fresh coffee cake for $ 2, as well as some passable coffee drinks. It’s sort of like an upscale convenience store — not horrible, but still convenience store type stuff. Pastries fresh, but still meh-ish. Staff/owner are very friendly.

I can’t recommend this place. The service has been bad or at best, indifferent. The counter people could not finish their cell phone chats to assit me. No thanks. As for the baked goods, they are not that good to justify the premium prices. I was excited when I first heard Marvelous Market was coming to West End — not now. There is little selection compared to other locations and what they do have is not fresh, just very, very expensive.

Great service, great sandwiches, and great pasta sauces. The habernero chips are excellent as well as the lavendar honey turkey. Expensive, but it’s a friendly atmosphere.

Marvelous Market. Neither is it marvelous. nor is it a market. if you are able to find anything remotely fresh in this place. (or for that matter remotely marvelous) I’ll buy you any one of their shrink-wrapped, bone-dry, and still unhealthy sandwiches.
