Overpriced salads. They taste fine, but definitely not worth the cost. You get more bang for your buck at SweetGreen or Chop’d.

Waited 30 min for an acai bowl because the workers were not doing their jobs. There was one gentleman who spent 15 minutes just staring at the cashier when no one was ordering. Why didn’t he just help out his coworker who was doing 4 other orders. Honestly, the quality of the bowl wasn’t bad it was the terrible customer service and the wait time.

The Hilltoss is a great addition to Georgetown. Many healthy options including salad, acai bowls, and smoothies. Acai bowl: Fresh and nice ingredients. I know the famous(and best?) ones are from Hawaii but I thought this was pretty good! Chocolate banana date almond milk smoothie: Delicious and highly recommended! Bean pie: The best thing they have there! Definitely try it! Amazing and highly recommended!

Review just for their acai bowls: Unfortunately quite disappointed with their Acai Bowls. I have a special love for acai bowls after discovering them at Juice Generation in NYC, and was hoping I could find a replica in DC. However, this bowl was super waterey, awfully sugary, and it tasted more like sorbet that melted way too quickly. The toppings were nice though. I ended up digging out the granola, pomegranate seeds, blackberries, bananas, and coconut flakes, and leaving the acai juice at the bottom. Will try the salads next time.

Since it opened, I have eaten at Hilltoss at least once per week. While the line can be a bit ridiculous at times, the food is consistently fresh and delicious! I like that they have predetermined salads, although I personally like to make some alterations for myself. Recently, they’ve also ventured into smoothies, an item that was sorely missing on campus. Of the ones that I have tried, they are pretty tasty too! Overall, I’m impressed with the Hilltoss and despite the pricey salads I will continue to patron as long at the food stays fresh and delicious. Lastly, my one complaint is that the music inside is sooooooo loud at times it’s hard to carry a conversation. I feel like an old man, but it’s a salad spot, not a club.

Wandered over from the business school on a Thursday afternoon after hearing rumors about an awesome new salad place on campus. I ordered the Walden as well as a yogurt and tea. Although pricey, it was absolutely delicious. It felt like a sweetgreen but student run. Staff was friendly and quick, and the ingredients were fresh. Tables were clean. The line started to get long around 12:20. I’m so glad I checked this place out and will definitely be back!

The Hilltoss is a new salad and smoothie place that recently opened at Georgetown University. It’s the latest business venture by the Students of Georgetown, Inc(aka The Corps). The place is billed as a healthy option for students on campus, right in time for the holiday season. The place is a made to order salad bar that features at least 8 different kinds of salads and a create your own option. Prices vary from $ 8-$ 10 per salad, plus add-ins if desired. I had the Liberty Cobb salad($ 9.75) a typical Cobb made with romaine and a whole bunch of mix ins like bleu cheese, bacon, lemon pepper chicken… Basically the works. The salad was great! It definitely tasted fresh and had a great balance of flavors. My friend got the Salad that was basically their version of a southwest salad($ 9) and it was also pretty good too! Their bread was also very tasty as well! I did go on the first day it opened and the line was relatively long. It took several minutes to make the salad, but it was worth the wait. It’s definitely the best place at the University to get a salad. The smoothies aren’t ready just yet, but I’m sure that I’ll add to this review once it starts up. Come on by to the Hilltoss when you’re at Georgetown. It’s definitely a great location to grab a fresh salad and adds a good alternative on campus!
