I absolutely LOVE Roti’s food, but I just can’t give this location anything higher than 2⁄2.5 stars. I work around Union Station so I eat at the restaurant every so often. If I’ve been there 10 times, then 8 times the service was not great. The people preparing your plate as you follow down the line are never paying attention. My usual order consists of a «rice plate» but I opt for no rice and cous cous instead. Four times, not an exaggeration, I have told the first person in the line that I did not want rice to which it was relayed to the women that are down the line. Each time, they have begun putting rice on my plate until I have to say«please no rice». Once, I even had to say it TWICE and then she had to dump the rice off of the plate! Personal conversations and normalcy at work are perfectly fine, but not when you’re trying to help out a customer. There was no eye contact at all during these occurrences and it was clear they couldn’t have cared less about what I actually wanted. Unfortunately for me, it’s the only Roti in the immediate area and I really do love the chicken plate. Hoping to have better service in the future.

Classic fast casual Mediterranean place. My socks weren’t blown off but it was an adequate meal while in a hurry at Union Station.

I like roti but the location at union station was disappointing. Had falafel, hummus and salad. Only 5 pieces of falafel were there and the person who was doing my plate put 3, they weren’t fresh and I just didn’t like them — I understand that the line is always long around lunch time in any restaurant in general, however, the quality of the food shouldn’t be different from location to another. It was disappointing…

Delicious food in a very convenient location! I love the rice platter. The couscous is amazing! For grabbing a quick bite to eat, this Mediterranean place is a preference over other fast food places in Union Station. I go there often when travelling. Healthy, affordable, and fast.

I have wanted to try this place especially after seeing the food at another location. I needed a quick and healthy option during one of my visits to Union. I debated between Roti and its neighbor and decided on Roti. I was disappointed. The chicken kabob looked shriveled like«chicken» at a street vendor in a third world country. The chicken roti looked slightly better but was equally dry. Broccoli and carrots were the fresh vegetable option and wow could we say salty!!! I think I ate three day’s rations of sodium in my single serving of vegetables. I was looking forward to the house-baked pita until I opened the paper bag it was served in. I am not sure which kitchen it was made in, but it definitely did not taste anywhere near fresh or homemade. Little Debbie could probably make better pita(nothing against Little Debbie).

Pretty disappointed! Considering that I love Mediterranean fast food, Roti was a no brainier for lunch while waiting to board the Amtrak to NYC(oh, Hello Rockefeller!). The line moved quickly and pretty much everyone except the guy at the start of the assembly line was friendly, including the cashier(the first assembly line guy was just rude and surly — maybe he had extended family at home for Christmas?!) Anyways, my pita was stale, the falafel balls were old, sad and mushy, the tomato salad was definitely old(the tomatoes tasted funky), the couscous was stale and bland and the olives were old too. Both my sister and I gave up our sandwiches after a few bites. All in all, it was a pretty unsatisfactory experience. Don’t think I’m coming back again — should’ve gone to Chop’t instead!

Love the chain but the Union Station version is a bit weaker than the others. I blame the volume. This place is like chipotle but for Mediterranean food. It feels healthy though I cannot vouch for its nutritional value. I always get the Best Plate Ever with chicken and extra vegetables(at additional charge). If I’m up for it I’ll also add a side dish of spicy guac. It’s like asking for extra guac, it’s their thing. Would I go to this location again? Yes. But if I could have the NoMa version just a mile down the road instead; I would. The hours about both locations are a little wonky so I had to input them into my phone just incase. Calling ahead is a nightmare and I’ve never been able to successfully order online but even in rush they’re quick and fresh. I’ve tried the pita sandwich and salad once or twice but BPE as they call it takes the cake. There is typically enough in one plate for 1.5−2 servings even when I’m hungry. Warm plain pitas are available at no extra cost upon request. If you’re into desserts, their baklava isn’t too bad but VERY sweet. Enjoy!

The prices were very reasonable and the service was quick. They offer many delicious options and toppings, all of which were incredibly fresh and well-seasoned. You are able to customize your platter with a variety of delicious veggies and sauces, which was a sheer delight. This is a fantastic place for vegetarians and health-conscious folks. I would definitely return.

When will this chain open in Texas? This is the chipotle for falafel — with lovely toppings, and choice of salad bowl or wrapped in tortilla(laffa bread). The best part if the choice of sauces — you know I am a sauce lover — they have yogurt based, pepper based, spicy, garlic and a tasty, creamy hummus to go with it. You get almost unlimited toppings with the sandwich and it all comes together really well. Their staff does a decent job of rolling the sandwich unlike some chipotles where they just shove it in the foil. I have not tried their meats, but the falafel is really crispy and the laffa bread is super soft and pliable(glutenny, love it!). I had this place twice during my trip to DC area. It is a standard chain, so all your processes are efficient and standardized. Price is really reasonable and the marketing looks like they use fresh and local ingredients wherever possible. They seemed environmentally responsible as well as there was an extra charge for plastic bags and there was no styrofoam to-go boxes as well. Cant wait for them to come to Texas.

Decent quality food when you come to this area often. Prices are reasonable and serving size is generous. I usually end up getting the rice bowl but want to try the salad. The hummus is tasty as is the quinoa. I dont like the olive blend as much but ask for a small amount on the side. Pita bread is hearty and the bagged pita chips are crisp and flaky. They have a little too much seasoning on them but not bad. The drink station can get crowded and messy and is often in need of restocking especially during the busy lunch rush.

Overrated. If you are really hungry and have no other choice, this place may give some pleasure to your bud taste. But don’t expect too much and don’t expect this place to be authentic. I am not an expert of the Mediterranean food, but I have some ample knowledge of how it should be. This is already customized to the local taste, if Americanized is overly used and senseless. Don’t get me wrong. It’s not that this place doesn’t offer some good food, it’s just an OK for me. I knew I didn’t come back even we were nearby to that area for our lunch time during our visit in DC. So yeah, go figure.

This place is around the corner from my boyfriends house. So, I’ve been looking to try this place for a while since we always pass it to Harris Teeter. Stopped in on Saturday before they were closing. Ordered the rice plate with Chicken. Rice was tasty with nice Mediterranean flavors. The chicken was just right — almost dry but still moist. Cam with pita bread that was made fresh. I don’t like Hummus but this was creamy and I liked it a lot. I also got the orzo salad which was tasty with currants I believe. I will come back again. Its about $ 10 which I think is a little pricey for«food to go» but its quality food.

Good ‘healthy’ option to pick up at the train station. Rice bowl with chicken and vegetables. Huge portion and very filling. Quick and convenient.

I’ve been here twice and both times I left full but not yearning to go back. Roti is right next to chopt, shake shack shophouse, and near the union square food court. I’ve had the chicken(pretty dry), and the steak(juicy and chewy but still delicious). The portions are pretty stingy compared to shophouse and they charge extra for meats like steak or salmon and for toppings like feta. Because the price is pretty high as is, I think the extra charges are overkill. The sides I got: vegatables(way too many onions), hummus(pretty delicious with the pita. Very creamy and garlicy), and tomato/cucumber salad(very refreshing). Price: around $ 13 for a steak plate and a soda.

Roti is an excellent alternative to most places in Union Station. The lines during lunch time are incredibly long but they are pretty fast in their service. Much faster than Chipotle and Shake Shack anyway. Their food is Mediterranean and I find it to be pretty tasty. I’m obsessed with their cuscus, cucumber and tahini sauces and the different kinds of vegetables they offer. I normally get their pita pocket, mostly chicken, which is flavorful and very well cooked. Their service is great and so are the prices– one can get a nice and healthy meal for less than $ 10. I’m a fan!

My lunch place is chiptole’s line is crazy long. The lines here go pretty fast compared to other food places around Union station. The service is good, the food is consistent. It’s not really memorable but good ok fast food.

Roti is a great lunch option serving fast casual Greek/Mediterranean fare. There are a bunch of locations across the DC area and the Union Station branch doesn’t disappoint with its hot, fresh, and consistent food. I’ve been to this location twice now and each time, I’ve had great service. There tends to be a bit of a line during the lunch rush, but nothing compared to the Shake Shack or Chipotle. Some finer points that may be useful to folks: — I’ve tried both the rice plate and pita pocket. If it were me, I would go for the plate because the pita pocket is rather thin, can break easily, and can result in a very messy meal. — Roti has the semblance of a «healthier» meal, but it also tends to be pretty salty. — Definitely download the Roti app to get rewards!

Roti is a good option in Union Station, if Chipotle is not your thing. The basic concept is the same as Chipotle, but just with a Mediterranean flair. Trying to decide which of the two it is healthier is a pretty tough road. The food is of good quality and the line moves relatively fast. Ultimately, that’s the most important thing for fast food like this.

Nestled between the long lines at Shake Shack and Chipotle is Roti, a fantastic and superior alternative to most of the places in Union Station. I ordered the salad with falafel, plus all of the toppings I could fit on the plate and a piece of naan. All of the toppings were fresh and tasty(I highly recommend the roasted red pepper sauce, cous-cous, and red cabbage slaw). I ended up with a large plate of food for under $ 9. Not bad –a few dollars cheaper than your Chipotle or Shake Shacks. The meal was very filling and clocked in at approximately 650 calories according to Roti’s nutrition calculator. Overall, it was a delicious and at least had a thin veneer of being good for you(or at least better for you than what else you can find in Union Station). Do yourself a favor and skip the line for this place.
