Gone from the Union Station food court as of early Sep 2014. Dunno what happened, the stand is just cleaned out: no sign, no plastic model food, no gyros, no super fast grill guy, nada. A dang shame, Acropolis was arguably the best option on the lower level.

It is a food court, but the Greek food was just right. The gyro sandwich was very tender and a good size meat serving. The Greek salad was flavorful and very well balanced. We shared the gyro sandwich meat as the was more than enough on the sandwich. Nice to get a very good meal in a train station.

Here my carry out review. My Unilocal friend stop by and I jump on this rib and chicken. Me and my brother spit a dish. And Thank good we did. Beef rib was dry and need more barbecue sauce. Chicken was good was not over cook. The French Fries was wet and soft because sitting on the bottom. Cool slow was planed. For being in a food court of Union Station and my brother pick it up. No I wood not go here. Still don’t really like eating at Union Station. to many people and to many people ask for money.

This gyro was 9 bucks, «not bad», I thought. Not bad indeed. This thing is colossal; Iwon’t need dinner after this! Its flavorful and hot. I’m coming back*said with mouth full of food*

I have not commented on Unilocal in quite some time. But I will post 2 reviews today for polar opposite reasons. Running to my train, I stopped at the Union Station food court. This one is about the worst greek food experiences(strike that — can’t call this food greek) ever. I got the greek mixed platter(kebab, gyro, salad, fries). I have had better gyros from random street vendors. 1 — kebab was dry like chewing on wood 2 — gyro was a salt attack and fiberous/tendony meat and 3 — tadziki was mush. I’d rather starve to death than be forced to eat this again.

Very good gyro, huge portion, great for lunch! Not the best Greek I’ve ever tasted but good for a quick bite. Friendly service too.

2.5. Stars Looking for something good to eat in Union Station, Acropolis had an attractive set up. I was drawn by their display window of menu items. It had the longest line, which is usually a good sign. Decided to try the Gyro Platter. Came with pita bread, salad, fries and a generous helping of meat. The pita bread wasnt served warm and didn’t taste all that fresh. The salad was fresh. Fries were overcooked and tasted like they had been fried in old oil. The meat was the saving grace. It was tender and seasoned well. Quick service. Total with tax for Gyro Platter($ 10.99) and Nestea($ 1.82) came to $ 14.09. The Gyro Platter is definitely on the pricier side. It was big though and can be shared by two. There are much better gyros out there but Acropolis was convenient since we were at Union Station.

I have been in love with Gyros for a long long time. I use to go to get my Gyros from a place in Georgetown which has since closed and have been looking for a great place to find a gyro. Well long story short. I reconnected with an old friend and they were telling me about this place that had AWESOMEGYRO. I tried Acropolis in Union Station, Washington DC and fell in love with their GYRO. No need to look any further I found the place that I was looking for.(DON’T FORGETTHEEXTRASAUCE)…

I was hanging around Union Station with a friend, and while I was walking up and down the aisles like a hungry caveman looking for something to eat, I stopped by Acropolis. Why did I stop there? Their displays looked delicious. The front of their eatery is lined up with a row of juicy gyros, moussaka specials, and other genuine Greek food items, and since I was in the mood for a helping of moussaka, I ordered a platter, together with french fries with some cucumber sauce for dipping. And boy, was it an experience! I was grossed out after sampling my food! It honestly tasted like synthetic material. The moussaka was a little bit too spongy and had no flavor. The meat tasted like it was sitting around for a while and had an artificial red coloring to it. The fries were also stiff, but not a crunchy type of stiff. I probably would not come here again. The food was hardly edible and did not have the good bitable texture you get from most dishes. Next time I am at Union Station, I plan to go elsewhere. Their food tasted as good as it looked, like artificial plastic.

My wife and I are staying a block from Union Station, so decided to give the food court a try. Based on mixed reviews at many of the restaurants, we were a bit nervous. The average Unilocal review for Acropolis was decent, so we gave it a try. We split the chicken souvlaki platter and were very satisfied. The portions were generous and the meat was moist and perfectly seasoned. The guy that took our order was not especially friendly and we WERE in a food court… so just four stars.

I went here one day coming from school on my way to work, and as the man was fixing my falafel sandwich, there were flies landing on the displays of food. Never again. I didn’t think that was hygienic.

I’ve been coming here for years and the food is consistently amazing. Of special note is the chicken souvlaki. All white meat chicken grilled and tossed with tzaziki, lettuce, and tomato on a super soft pita. I get extra feta topping to complete this meal. I really think it’s the best fast food Greek in the city.

The Vegetarian salad gyro is wonderful here. I normally get an extra cucumber sauce.

It’s a food court in a train station but holy gyros, food fans, it’s delicious! The gyro here is so jam packed with meat, lettuce, tomato and tzatziki that I had to use a fork and knife to eat it — the cone shaped presentation was nice, but too much to try to bite into without making a mess. I ate here inadvertently my first time in DC and made sure to stop in during my recent trip. If you want a quick, tasty and filling bite then Acropolis is your place.

It was a beautiful day outside so I took a walk and ended up shopping at Union Station. As of result of the shopping, I was hungry. I decided to check out the food court. I’m typically not a fan of food courts, but after giving it a quick walk, I decided on this place. I ordered the falafel w/o tzatziki sauce. I was hoping it was good b/c the display falafel looked a little fare in color and the sammy was $ 9.50. To my surprise, the falafel was not bad. The sammy had entirely too many onions though. The other toppings included lettuce, tomato, and taboule. The pita bread was soft and warm. Although, I won’t go back regularly, it satisfied me today.

I thought the gyro was delicious — all the ingredients were very fresh and generous, the tzatziki has a ton of cucumber ribboning through it and they gave me an extra cup of it for free, service was quick and congenial. I would definitely return here if I needed to grab a meal from this food court.

Awesome gyro. Wife had the calamari and it was delicious as well. Total came to $ 23 including two large sodas. Both plates of food were big enough to satisfy most appetites. I did not find it to be overpriced, especially for D.C.(I currently live in the Midwest) I’ve spent $ 15+ to feed two at most name brand fast food chains and the food here was much better. They did accept credit/debit.

Union Station has many food options and they know that you’re pretty much stuck when you’re hungry or want to bring food aboard the train. I knew it was going to be a long day riding back to Boston, so my friend and I opted for some deliciously filling Greek food. Acropolis didn’t disappoint. I enjoyed the Gyro Platter, which included a heaping plate of meat, fries, and Greek salad — along with a pita on the side for good measure. It took some time for the fries to be made, but it was well worth the wait. The price was expensive, however I didn’t even have room for dinner on the ride home. It was annoying that they didn’t take credit cards, but I was pleased with the fresh taste and quantity of food. A good choice for hungry passengers.

Ditch day with the husband. After opening a joint bank account down the street at BofA — we walk over to Union Station for some good eats. So I ordered a falafel from Acropolis with some fries. $ 12.08, like Ali below, I was wtf cash only and $ 12?! But then my falafel came and I was like«dude, how am I going to eat this?» Thank god the hubby helps me finish my meals. =) The falafel was perfectly sauced and the actual falafel patty inside was really tasty. What I couldn’t get over was how greasy the fries were. So what would have been 5 stars is 3 because no CC, $$ and greasy fries. Heck I’ll still go back though.

I tend not to eat at the food court on the bottom floor of Union Station because… well, I’ve seen what it looks like and I have a semi phobia of food that comes from stands in place that look like the bottom floor of Union Station. I broke my rule today after the failed Earth Day Concert at the Capitol and after searching around went to Acropolis. To be honest, had I realized they too were cash only before I ordered I probably would have gone somewhere else. The price of the food seemed a little exorbitant, $ 11 for a chicken and rice platter but that was until I got the food and realized just how much food they gave you. The platter came with two huge pieces of chicken, lots of salad, and a decent amount of rice(I always find it funny when places skimp on rice, which is so cheap) and the food itself was definitely much better than I thought it would be and without a doubt plentiful. Unfortunately there were two problems with my order: 1. Even though it was a Sunday evening and I’m sure all the workers were looking forward to going home I didn’t appreciate the detached and annoyed attitude of the cashier who actually started to take away the straws and napkins even as people were continuing to order. 2. As I stated above they give you A LOT of food of course they also serve it on a very small sized plate so your chances of having the food spill onto the tray and table in front of you are very high making eating the food very frustrating. Even when I asked for a to-go box they gave me one of those little rectangular ones even though my food would clearly not fit into it. ALSO their Coke was gross.
