Glad to find a good single-slice place in this area containing many hotels. Good food, good service.

Not impressed. The pizza and garlic knots are acceptable. But NY quality pizza this place is not. Let’s start with the pizza. All the ingredients taste cheap. The pizza presents well, but the taste is not so great. I think the biggest offender is the sauce. I just can’t put my finger on it. My best guess is it’s cheap. To be NY style it needs to have a more crispy bottom, and be a bit thinner. The garlic knots, where’s the garlic? They definitely need to pump up the flavor in the garlic knots I barely tasted garlic. Customer Service: While a lot of complaints stemmed around customer service, my experience went smoothly. Friendly staff. My co-worker raves about their tacos. Yes, this pizza place sells tacos… that’s how you KNOW they aren’t in the business of making REALNY style pizza. Would I eat here again? If I was desperate yes. It’s not nasty, it’s just sad/weak. I would never ever go out of my way to eat here though. Best Local NY Style(well as close as you can get to it) in order: 1. Potomac Pizza(the nearest one to DC is Bethesda/Wisconsin Ave my favorite! 2. Pete’s New Haven Pizza(yeah it says New Haven, but damn this pizza is good). 3. WiseGuy’s Pizza. They’ve ALMOST nailed it. The pizza is damn good and close to NY style but just not good as the aforementioned other two. I know Potomac Pizza and Pete’s always seem to have Groupons so check there first and you could end up saving half off.

Yes, it was the right location. OK fine, she can speak English. Than tell her to make eye contact and not whisper so I don’t have to guess if she took my order. And yes, you are next door to the CoStar Group. I know where the hell I am in DC. Still lousy service

Canned mushrooms rather than fresh. Instant fail from this New Yorker. Probably not bad for late night fix but it was a mistake coming in for lunch. As a native New Yorker, Wiseguys is a clear #1 and We the Pizza isn’t a bad #2… For NY style pizza specifically.

Great place to grab a quick slice! Got the mushroom and cheese– dough was good too! Crispy on the outside soft on the inside. Nice service too!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I ordered pizza for delivery through Unilocal at 8:15 pm and everything went through smoothly. I checked in on my order at 8:45 and was told that the delivery should arrive at any moment. I get a final call at 9:15 to tell me that they won’t deliver to me due to my distance… I’m 15 minutes walking and 5 minutes biking, but that’s beside the point. I told the pizza rep that I’ve been fasting all day and they really jacked me. Not only have I been fasting 30 minutes longer, but I now have nothing to eat. Oh yea, apparently this wasn’t the pizza restaurant’s fault. Google maps supposedly has my address at two points within a half mile radius — that, or the person on the other end of the phone is full of it. Looks like I paid $ 30 for no food and me losing my ish.

Excellent pizza, great and friendly customer service. The gentleman that waited on myself and my sons went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. Our gigantic pieces of pizza was hot and absolutely delicious! Thanks. Made our night :)

I ordered a plain slice with garlic knots on the side. Of course, garlic knots typically come with marinara dipping sauce. It wasn’t until I finished my slice and I went into dip my first knot into the cup of marinara that I discovered the red stuff was FROZENSOLID. I resorted to getting the sauce warmed up, which was kind of pathetic. Why would the server *intentionally* provide a patron with a cup of frozen marinara sauce? Either she’s mindless or passively vindictive. Regardless of judgment, it makes one wonder which other menu offerings of theirs are simply warmed up from frozen leftovers?

Well fellow Unilocalers, this is a place you can pass by. The quality of their Pizza is sub par and that is being polite. The stuffed pizza mimicked the sole of a shoe in its texture. It was sweaty and rubbery. There traditional style pizza was ok but nothing to rave about.

From GREAT to awful! I placed my order tonight as usual … pepperoni and olive pizza and two pepperoni and sausage calzones. The calzones were amazing! Absolutely delicious. The pizza was good too, but it was missing the olives. But here’s why it now gets a one-star, awful grade. I ordered everything through GrubHub(which I always do). It’s easy and usually accurate. When using GrubHub, I ALWAYS pay ahead on my credit card and include 20% tip. This time, the delivery guy asked if I’d added tip to the online charge. I said yes, and he said, «That’s not for me. That’s only for my boss. I don’t get anything.» He actually wanted me to double tip … once online and then again using cash on the spot. I asked him to clarify. «You don’t get any of that tip?» He said no. I told him I didn’t believe him and he got very defensive. «It’s ok. It’s ok.» And, then he scurried away. There’s more. I called Pizza Autentica immediately after to complain about the pizza inaccuracy and to talk with the manager about the tipping policy. When they answered, I asked to speak to the manager on duty. I was told there is NO manager on duty. No manager in the store tonight. I said, «Well, who is in charge right now?» The answer … «No one. We just work.» I asked who would be closing the store tonight. She didn’t understand my question. I asked who the licensed food manager is on duty. She told me there wasn’t one. I asked when the manager would be back. She told me she didn’t know but she thought they worked Monday-Friday during the day. I WILL be following up with the manager of this store, and possibly with the health department. They have to have a food service manager on duty. Either, they are running a scam, have idiots working there, or have just been flying under the radar. I won’t order again. There are LOTS of other pizza delivery.

In and around McPherson Sq and Thomas Circle, there’s not much for after-dark choices. I stay in that area often, and you can only go to Chix or Jimmy John’s so much before needing something else, or something after 10pm. We came across pizza autentica last night and the servers were friendly and helpful. Pizza was good and reasonably priced for the size of the slices, and just what you need for a light meal after an excessively long day… The gelato, was, fantastic. Double chocolate and tiramisu definitely win the day, but I do want to go back and try the espresso as well.

Bonus for being the only food available in this area. Not-bonus for lack of bathrooms and indoor seating. Nice guys, though.

This seems like the kind of the place where you should stick to the cheese pizza. My cheese slice was pretty good, but my veggie slice was somewhat withered and bland. It’s nice that they have gelato, although the odds are it’s the same brand every other place in DC sells, whatever that is.

Pizza is just okay. The panini’s were good. I liked mine and my boyfriends. My nieces both got pizza… Just like pizza in the mall. Nothing special. We only ate here because one of my ices is a picky eater and I was tired of hamburger joints. All in all… get the panini if you need to swing by for lunch.

Mediocre by the slice pizza that is the best option for«New York style» in the neighborhood. The service is always unoffensive and fast, also. They do have gelato if you’re interested in a cold dessert on the way home from something more«upper class,» and they are open late.

I stopped here the other day during lunch hour on a weekday, and I had a quite pleasant experience. The food is served Sbarro style(although I would say the quality is better than Sbarro), so there is a variety of pizzas, strombolis, salads, etc., set out along the counter. There was no line on this particular day, which was a pleasant surprise, and I ordered the spinach stromboli because it looked quite tasty. They warmed it up for me, and I got it to go. The stromboli itself was decent sized. Not big, not small. The dough tasted fresh and was not too crunchy but not too chewy, it was just right. The thing was STUFFED with spinach and cheese. Sometimes you order a stromboli or a calzone somewhere, and it’s ALL dough. Not these ones. And it was only $ 4.39 including tax! You can’t beat that. It was pretty filling for lunch, and was definitely tasty. I also saw on their menu that they have breakfast strombolis, which sounds really yummy. Also, I didn’t try their gelato, and some people were commenting that it was«random» to have gelato at a pizza place… but gelato is Italian, and so is pizza, so the combo seems pretty appropriate to me. Anyhow, the gelato looked REALLY good, and I’m looking forward to trying that as well. I’m glad they have evening and weekend hours, because I live in the neighborhood, and I can’t wait to go back!

Finally a great spot for lunch near my office! This place rocks! Fresh tasty, crispy pizza — NY style, and great calzones, and fresh salads. The slices are big enough for one to hit the spot for lunch. And the staff is friendly and efficient.(let’s just pray this continues) And then there’s the awesome selection of gelatos! Now, I all I have to do is try them out for breakfast, and I’m set. Goodbye to all the tired selections of Au whatta Bön Pain, Quiznots, and Dominots! I found my new workday dining and escape from work spot!
