this place was dead empty on a Saturday afternoon around 4pm. Bad sign? Well it’s not due to the service, food, speed, etc. They hit all those marks perfectly. There should be a line out the door. We will be back – great place to eat lunch/dinner before or after a movie at The Avalon.

Great sandwiches. Generous portions. Friendly staff. A bit pricey but worth the money.

I love Jetties. This really should be 3.5 stars, but its not worth giving 4 stars. The flavors don’t seem to be as deep as they used to be. I also got caramelized onions added to my nobadeer sandwich, but found quite a few pieces of the onion paper. Very unpleasant to find large pieces of onion paper as you are enjoying your sandwich.

Probably wouldn’t come back. Nice place but I didn’t think much of the sandwich. My «Smith Point» was so heavy on the onions I couldn’t taste the roast beef. Overall, lacking in taste and kind of disappointing.

I have had countless Nobadeers(Thanksgiving meal in sandwich form) which are still one of the best sandwiches around town. I just had a Still Dock(breaded chicken and Chipotle mayo) which is now a very close second. Delicious! Two other sandwiches I’ve tried are also good, the Quidnet(Italian) and the Surfside(turkey/bacon/avocado). Salads are good but are generally over-priced. They also serve ice cream and have other good desserts. Overall a great spot to grab a quick meal. A very welcome addition to this neighborhood.

Please try their milkshakes. Can’t go wrong with strawberry or chocolate. You’ll thank me later. I went based on reviews and ordered the Nobedder and I did not leave disappointed. It’s basically thanksgiving in a sandwich. I couldn’t finish the whole sandwich so I got my money’s worth. Yeah sandwiches are a little on the upscale side but I think it’s worth it. Oh they don’t take cash. Credit only.

Jetties is a beach-style sandwich shop started in Georgetown and now a presence in the DMV. I love their Maryland Crab soup also, but their sandwiches are what should keep you coming back. Now that they have Gifford’s ice cream, Jetties should be a mainstay for Washingtonians. I remember the days when people used to make fun of Washington restaurants. Jetties and others have made the Washington Metropolitan Area proud!

This was my first time at a Jetties. Nice sandwich shop chain here in the DC area. They have a pretty decent selection of interesting hot and cold sandwich and salad offerings as well as ice cream. The menu itself was good though nothing that blows your mind or anything. I got the Nobadeer which was basically a Thanksgiving Friday sandwich. Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and mayo on sourdough. The sandwich was pretty good all in all. The turkey was moist still, which is a plus since it can often be dry, though it was sliced deli turkey, and not like chunks you might get from an actual roasted bird. The stuffing brought nice flavor and the sauce kept the whole sandwich moist and added a nice sweetness to offset the savory. The bread was very fresh, but nothing spectacular either. For $ 10 i’d have liked to have had a pickle or some chips thrown in, but alas, not to be. The service was quick and friendly so no issues there. It’s a nice lunch spot if you have an hour from work, but nothing I would really crave.

I got the Norbadeer – Thanksgiving style sandwich(turkey, cranberry sauce, mayonaise, on sourdough bread that is not toasted. Sandwich was good, but not something I would crave. I think Earl of Sandwich does a better job of it. I also think the price point(~$ 9) is a little much.

The food is great. Location is convenient. But one of your employees really should be talked to. As I sat inside waiting for my friend to arrive, your employee continued to stand behind the counter and GLARE at me, not saying a word. Granted, I was waiting in there for about 10 minutes, but it’s obvious I was waiting for someone and not just sitting in there for no reason. It got to the point where I felt SO uncomfortable that I just ended up getting my food without waiting for my friend, because your employee would not stop giving me dirty looks. And she was just rude over all even when I placed my order. Like I said, food is awesome. Only gave 3 stars because of the horrible customer service I experienced while I was there.

If you are looking for a great sandwich, you will not find a better place than Jetties in DC. The bread is locally sourced and tastes incredible. In addition, the turkey they use is fresh roasted turkey, not the deli kind. The Pocomo sandwich is my favorite. It’s portabello mushrooms, butternut squash, and goat cheese spread cooked in an oven on multigrain bread. Yes, it is not cheap, but these sandwiches are meals within themselves and you will get exceptional bang for your buck. Word to the wise, you are usually better off price wise selecting one of their premium sandwiches than making your own. They also have Gifford’s ice cream, which is as good or better than Ben & Jerry’s. Cherry Blossom and Muddy Boots are my favorite flavors.

I base this 4 star review on its location and the steady business they have. The prices are up there. They serve sandwiches and have indoor outdoor seating. They’re doing well during the short time they have been there

I used to go to Maine every summer, so I’m a HUGE fan of lobster rolls! I had my first one at Jettie’s today, and was disappointed. The lobster was basically tasteless, and I can only guess they used previously-frozen lobster. Fresh lobster tastes wonderful, so I don’t know what happened. The roll was nice, the overall sandwich itself was nice, but for the lobster to be tasteless is just is a downer. My husband had the pork bbq and liked it, so that’s good. I’d be willing to try other sandwiches on the menu, but not the lobster roll. The venue was very nice, as was the staff.

Oh Jetties; I wish I could quit you. Wait, no… I wish I could get you! I was first introduced to Jetties in 2012 when I went to work in the Woodmont Triangle. Their Bethesda location was right around the corner and I was an almost daily visitor. The first time I had the Nobadeer was akin to the first time I heard The Beatles. I live on the Van Ness end of Chevy Chase so I never bothered to go into Bethesda on weekends just for lunch. Then, something magical happened. One day I noticed a banner in the window down the block from the Avalon. My dreams had come true, a location near home. I will say this; parking is anything but ideal. If you’re already shopping at Magruders(or like to ignore their parking lot signs) then awesome! If not, good luck with street parking… One thing I have found, they are on Postmates. This is an app where you pay people to pick up your food, ie. an über for lazy foodies; of which I am an unapologetic member. I can’t tell you how awesome it is to get Jetties delivered to your door and skip the headache of trying to find parking around there, especially on week nights. Weekends are fine, there are usually plenty of spots, especially Sunday afternoons/evenings. Their soups are really good; for the price, the best deal is the large. If you haven’t, try the clam chowder. Disclaimer: I played football in college and subsidized my NCAA meal-slips by doing eating competitions, so your feelings about portion size will likely differ from mine. My standard order is: Nobadeer(on whole wheat) Surfside(on whole wheat) — the sourdough is good, I just love the wheat and sunflower seed crust Monomoy(w/bacon added) — what? I like bacon… Large clam chowder 2 – 3 bags of Cape Cod Waffle cut chips(sometimes I get reduced fat BBQ to be ironic) I sometimes substitute the Nobadeer for the Cisco or Tom Nevers. In Bethesda they used to have a hot breakfast sandwich with eggs, bacon and Muenster on an everything bagel. If you find a location that offers it; try it. Jetties has recently rolled out 4 new hot sandwiches, I’ve tried all four, impressions are as follows: Cliff Road: Totally serviceable meatball sub; not an Italian deli, but infinitely better than Subway or Pottbelly. If I happened to have a major craving for a meatball sub, this is where I’d go. Still Dock: They use(it appears) a previously frozen, breaded chicken patty. The blue cheese, bacon and chipotle mayo are on point, but the McChicken brings it down. Baxter Road: Dear God, they’ve found another use for their turkey. Which is spectacular! Roasted in-house and carved to order. It’s open faced, so fork and knife it is; very tasty. The Rotary: I’m somewhat indifferent about this one. It’s a tasty sandwich for sure, but there are actual BBQ places all over DC. If i’m coming to Jetties, it is to get something I can’t get a dozen other places. As far as the salads go, all are good, depending on your tastes. The ones with turkey give the most bang for your buck. Try the Muskeget with added avocado. The vinaigrettes are all good, but the peanut honey dressing stands alone; I’d probably drink that. One day I will move away from the DMV and on that day I will mourn the loss of access to Jetties.

(2 and a half stars to be exact). It’s great to have another sandwich shop in the neighborhood, but at the end of the day their prices are just WAY too expensive for what you get. The sandwiches I’ve had are ok, but nothing better than what else is in the neighborhood, and much more expensive. I would tend to frequent them more if they were more compatible with their pricing.

Don’t get me wrong it’s a decent sandwich, just way overpriced. I have high expectations for a $ 10 sandwich but it was just okay. My friend got the surf side and said with a mouthful of food«meh I would really enjoy it if it cost $ 6». Solid tuna salad though, albeit a little too much mayo for my taste. I probably won’t be returning.

First time there and I had the Thanksgiving turkey sandwich called the Nobadeer. Turkey stuffing cranberry on sour dough. Outstanding. I’ll be back.

The biggest selling factor of this new neighborhood restaurant is the location. There is not much else like this in the neighborhood — simple, fast, sandwiches salads and ice cream. However, it’s probably not a destination coming from a distance. I give the salad 2.5 stars. Not a huge amount of salad and the toppings are small as well. $ 1.95 for two very small pieces of tofu? Please fix this. My son had a roast beef sandwich and he gave it three stars. All that said, the place was full on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Probably good enough and close enough to get us back but nothing very exciting so far here.

I have been eagerly awaiting the opening of this new location of Jetties, and my first try tonight did NOT disappoint! I had the Pocomo, but swapped goat cheese for havarti(I’m not a goat cheese fan; what can I say?) It had roasted butternut squash and portabello mushrooms and was on a toasted multi-grain bread that was so yummy. It was DELICIOUS. The ingredients are clearly fresh, they’re tasty, and it was a pretty original pairing(I’m not a vegetarian, but sandwiches like these make me think I could be…) I also appreciate that they are open til 9 pm on Sunday nights… it’s nice to have places to get a later dinner around Chevy Chase!
