This is probably more like a 2.5 but the convenience keeps me coming back. Customer service is good, they’re pretty friendly and they always remember to give napkins.
As I mentioned in my tip, it’s best to get here really early in the morning for the best selection of sandwiches or you’re going to be left with warm greasy scrapple on soft toast. I learned my lesson pretty quickly and on those days, I just grab a cheese danish and keep it moving. But I lucked up today and got a sausage, egg, and cheese. They’re pre-​made and wrapped in foil so if you don’t have a toaster oven at work to heat and crisp the sandwich, go for the bagel or skip the trip – soggy toasted bread is the worst.

My gf ate here around noon for her first meal of the day on a Saturday morning two weeks ago. Thank goodness I got nothing but hours later she started to complain of nausea. Symptoms balloned and continued. It is now two weeks later, Sunday the second of March, and she is STILL throwing up, diarrhea, severe stomache cramps and unable to eat. We have gone to the doctors three times. The last time, they are still stumped (three saw her last night) but they believe it could be a parasite from eating contaminated food. Who knows how long that food stays out in the heat lamps **BUT** I would not risk it. There is a reason the food is priced cheaply, the ingredigents are incredibly cheap qualitly (she said the sandwich did not quite taste right but figured it was just cheap qualitly). The one other review left by Bryan describing the sandwich was spot on, my gf said. I will call food safety, such very poor qualitly food needs to be investigated.

The guy who runs this place was extremely rude to me twice in one day; once when I was trying to buy an item, and again when I called to inquire about a set of lost keys. He’ll never get another cent of my business.

I have had and will only have one experience here. For the most part, the staff was polite but the sandwich that I ordered was just awful!
How can you mess up something as simple as a sausage egg and cheese sandwich??? Pre-​make it and put it in a warming case… For an undisclosed amount of time…
I unwrapped what I thought would be my breakfast and took a bite. Very little to no flavor. The sage from the sausage was in the back end was nullified by the cheese like product. It was like the thick schmear of cream cheese that you get on a bagel!
The egg product was in the form of a 1/​5″ thick sheet… It was cut to fit the sandwich which was nestled between two soggy slices of cracked wheat bread. I forced myself through the first half and basically attempted to peel off the «cheese» and eat the sausage patty from the second ½.
They have a flattop grill behind the counter and in addition to the basic breakfast sandwiches they will prepare pancakes, bagels and stuff like that. There is a lunch menu with sandwiches and wraps but I’m just going to pass.
If you do decide to grab a breakfast sandwich here, I would suggest modifying your order so you get a pre-​made sandwich.

This is a small lil café right atop the Friendship Heights Metro Station. The owner is very friendly. Place is kept very clean and has a large variety of things to purchase in such a small space. Even has a little table where you can sit down and eat. I visit here several times a week as it is close to my office where I work.
